Dissent

Rin chuckled as she shifted through the corpses gathering the last of the supplies, "Sure, it just took an entire guild for him to listen to a healer without a fight". She stood and turned to Pallon, circling around him, "speaking of healing, how did you fair through the fight, love"?

Kalten frowned slightly and looked to Tohveir, "And how long do we have till we make the Ceverian border"?

Pallon chuckled. "Well he knows we have to get moving, and if he fights it we will stay here longer." He smiled at her. "A small cut on my arm, but thats it. Nothing serious." He sowed her the cut, and it had already been cleaned.

Tovheir had come over to check with the soldiers cleaning their wounds. He looked at Kalten. "A month and a half at best. Another two weeks to a month until we reach the Ceverian capitol. It depends on the weather and road conditions we encounter. We will be trekking into the mountains afterall."

Rin smiled, gently tracing the cut on his arm and kissed it, "Thank the gods". She looked down at all of the bodies around them with a scowl, "So what do we do with them"? She turned a man over with her foot as his dead eyes stared into nothing.

Kalten sank into his saddle with a groan, muttering curses of every level as he place his hands over his eyes. He sighed and looked at them all again, "with them at our heals. Great! Let's go"! He smiled as if forgetting about the recent attack.

"We leave them." Pallon replied. "It's cruel, yes, but a patrol will come through here or a traveller will, and they will report what happened. The guards will know, and with none of us here they will believe one of two things. We escaped, or we were taken. If taken the assassins would likely make it known."

Bear stood wiped blood away from his eyes. "We cant leave until the wounded are cared for. It will take only a minute but in that time help me take some of these belts, Kal." Bear was already removing the belts off an assassin and threw one of the shoulder of Kaltens horse.

Avian set Ayrian down and began helping Bear. The other assassins doing the same as they waited. Siren was even grabbing belts. It seemed as though it calmed them all and kept them dilligent.

Rin nodded slowly, "At this point I don't give a s*** if its cruel or not. The birds can have them for all I care". She looked back to Pallon and her eyes softened, "I'm sorry that was bad".

Kalten jumped from the saddle and began to scavange belts and daggers from the surrounding bodies. He was unbuckling a belt when a hand wrapped around his ankle and dragged him down. The hands owner, a downed assassin with a gut wound looked at him blank faced as he drew a dagger and lunged for him.

De'sha came running, her hackles raised and bit down into the man's wrist, making him drop his weapon and hiss in pain.

Pallon pulled her into hug and kissed her forehead. "It's ok. nothing to be sorry about."

They all pulled daggers and weapons at the sound of Kalten hitting the ground and Desha biting the assassin. Avin, being the closest plunged a dagger into the mans heart, and then as if nothing happened proceeded to pull off the assassins belts.

THe others turned back to what they were doing with the exception of Bear, who looked at Kalten with a questioning brow as if to ask if he was ok.

Rin smiled then tensed suddenly as she saw Kalten on the ground and Avian's dagger in a now dead man. She looked to Kalten and pulled away, heading towards the boy at a fast pace.

Kalten popped back up onto his feet without a second though and ruffled De'sha's head and ears, "Good girl"! He looked to Bear with a smile and watched as Rin approached, "I'm fine"! He turned lastly to Avian, "Thank you, sir".

De'sha groaned in delight and leaned into Kalten as she was scratched.

Pallon followed her confused at first until he saw what had happened

Avian nodded without looking up. "Anytime."

Bear finished pulling off the belt he had a hold of and stood. Looking around he saw everyone else mounting their horses, ready to go. He looked at the assassins that had joined them and as if by silent command they went and mounted their recently aquired horses with the belts they had taken.

"I'm starting to think that you've gotten Pallon's bad luck" Rin said stopping in front of him calmly as she saw he was alright. She looked to Avian but didn't say a word as she patted Kalten's shoulder, "Go get your horse, looks like we're headed out again".

Kalten grinned and blushed slightly as he turned and bolted to the mare with a slew of belted daggers round her neck and shoulders.

De'sha followed him looking alert.

Pallon chuckled slightly at that. "That would be very bad."

Avian stood with several belts of daggers. And turned to go get on his horse.

Bear was already lifting Ayrian into the saddle and Siren's lap.
