welcome to cosplay club!

I'm gonna try and finish my red riding hood cloak today, and maybe start on my Honey lemon bag, tomorrow.
when I finish my red riding hood cosplay, I'll take a pick with it on my dress form and post it here.

so I finished my red riding hood costume
here it is

Most of it was made out of thrift store finds,
the clasp (actually a broach), the wolf necklace, the basket, the fabric the dress and the basket lining is made out of. The only stuff I needed to get new was the stuff to make the cloak and the zip for the back of the dress, and thread to sew the whole lot together.

Still have Rapunzel and honey lemon to finish
and then I'll have finished all my con costumes for the year.

I was hoping I could get an answer maybe from someone with previous experience
I was wondering what may be the easiest way to make a sword? 。 w。'
I'm mostly talking about just the blade.. what to make it out of.
like wood, foam, cardboard ?
I am not sure what may be the easiest route with the best result.
