"Oh, hello," she mewed rather formally, giving her chest fur a few quick licks. "I'm an apprentice. In just a few moons, you will be too. It's when you learn to hunt and fight until you're twelve moons. It's hard work, but trust me, it's worth it in the end."

Fishkit blinked, "Are you allowed to go out of the camp?" He inquired, eyes gleaming with curiosity.

"Yep!" Rowanpaw laughed. "Where to?"

Russetfang chuckled and nudged her, "That's the surprise, I'm not going to ruin it."

"Alright." she agreed. "lets go!" she said, taking off running.

She smiled and nodded. "Yeah, but trust me, it's not that interesting. I know you want to see what's beyond the clearing, but it's nothing more than a bunch of trees, rocks, and meadows."

Russetfang darted beside her, "You're pretty quick for a medicine cat," he said jokingly. He then informed, "By the way, we're going out of NightClan territory."

Fishkit blinked, disappointed, "Oh, Splashkit went and he said it was cool, but the warriors found him and took him back to camp. All three times."

Aspenpaw stifled her laughter. "Let me tell you something, Fishkit. Once you're allowed out of camp, you only come back when it's time to go to sleep. The rest of the time you're either freezing your paws off while hunting in the snow or collapsing from exhaustion when going on border patrols in green-leaf."

"When it isn't murky," she replied. "I mean, since you're a kit, you'll enjoy the outside of camp once you're allowed to leave. You'll be eager to explore and find all the best hunting places, as well as go out with your friends, too. But soon it'll be a place you'll grow too familiar with, and going out to hunt and patrol will soon become nothing more than a chore."
