I've had my eye on this one character-- a prince, actually, but I don't know if I want to invest in him because I don't know if I'd ever use him. OTL I'd ask your opinions but I usually get "go for it"s without people actually knowing my financial situation.

Well I recommend looking at the thread about CS pet worth in C$ then check how much C$ are worth and that should give you an idea of how much they're worth.
-10 rares are worth rough 15-35 C$ - lets say it's roughly 1USD, so it's more then fair~

Possibly, but don't take it as if its fact though.
I personally wouldn't exchange anything selling for DA points for pet value, because pets have no value outside of the site but DA points can be converted to real money if you go through proper channels. So if you are offering, be polite about it, and offer but play it by ear. Because a lot of people value pets less now than what would be considered "fair" conversion.
