If you're reading this then welcome, you have found Running Bear Equestrian Center. Running Bear is home to many champion horses who constantly compete against each other at Running Bear, the owners/riders have thousands of dollars invested into their horses and the high quality facilities at Bear Run are the best around to accommodate the horses and riders to the greatest ability.

Running Bear is known for holding all kinds of competitions to draw in crowds of people and to help show people some tolters that could use homes of their own. They have two large indoor arenas as well as two outdoor arenas, there are a few pens that run to the outdoor arenas to run cows in for cutting competitions and such.

Running Bear is also known as a trail riding location, with hundreds of miles of mild woodland to ride through and have some trail riding guides to lead them through Running Bear's beautiful forest landscape.

Running Bear is also a haven for rescued tolters or tolters that have never really found a home that fit them but due to the recent incline of tolters that need homes and people to care for them as well as money intake for Running Bear is on a steady decline so Running Bear needs more new students to apply to help keep the horses fed, the owners of Running Bear are slowly thinking about selling off plots of their land to possibly be able to still hold on to the rest of their property.

Running Bear needs the help of the experienced competitors to help new people with learning how to ride tolters, how to compete well and how to care for the mounts they ride. Some professional competitors may not be pleased with the newbies who join but they love Running Bear anyways and want to help out the place that they consider practically a second home to them.

Owning a tolter is required to join, but you can ask someone else who owns tolters to borrow one for this RP just don't beg, whine or complain if someone doesn't want to let you borrow one.

Everyone has the right to say no to letting someone else borrow a tolter from them.

Due to Running Bear being such a highly visited place for visiting competitors the owners had two barns built to house as many horses as they could. Polar Barn is a little ways north of the house hence it being named after Polar Bears found in the north.

Kodiak Barn was named to keep up with the bear names used for the two barns and is found a little ways east of the house.

Both barns are used to house champion tolters as well as rescued or fostered tolters. So you can choose whether you want to settle your horse(s) in the Polar or Kodiak barn, both have the same amount of stalls and both have good supplies of hay, grains, and any other feeds your horse needs as well as a washing area and tack area, the saddling area is just outside of the barn doors.

The Arenas are set in an almost straight line apart from eachother, they have a few hundred feet between each and are found more to the south of the house where the owners of Running Bear live, they wanted their house to be at the center of everything with the barns and arenas set around it to make it easy for them to visit everything.

There are a few common rules when you use the arenas.

1: Put everything back where you found it, so if you some practice jumps and are done with them, put them away so someone doesn't have to do it for you.
2: If your horse poops in the arena, please scoop it up and dispose of it before you leave the arena for the day.
3: If someone is practicing in an arena when you join them try not to startle the horses with sudden loud noises like clapping or shouting.
4: If someone else comes in and asks to use the jumps you set up and you're done with them then it is the other persons responsibility to put them away.
5: If you leave after dark and have the lights on for practice and no one else is still inside make sure to turn the lights off for the night.

Personality: Gentle, the kind of mare that was always meant to be a mother. She is great with kids and beginner riders because of her gentleness, she'll forgive you for an accidental tug, pinch or poke in sensitive places. She has average speed but incredible endurance and can trot for hours without tiring, her gaits are smooth like butter and she always pays attention to the cues of her rider. As a horse for a novice, she is practically perfect, but there are two things that bring out her protective side to an almost insanely high level of aggression, one is carnivorous predators. She has stomped out a cougar when it showed up in a pen with her when she was a couple years old, the other one is danger to her foals. Some people think that protecting her babies is the same as going crazy on a predator but sometimes if she feels that a human handler is being too rough with her foal, she could easily become aggressive towards them. Paint won't go after a human the way she does predators but she will bluff about how willing she is to bite and rear if her foal starts becoming upset by something a human is doing with her baby.

Personality: Lucifer was trained too young and too fast to be ridden but many horses are so Lucifer's training isn't her negative thing. Her negative thing is she managed to have her spinal cord fractured by a rather large rider with only ten days on her riding record at the time. Due to the lack of care by her previous owners, Lucifer was taken by the SPCA and Ever since then she's been used as a pasture pet because having anyone else on her back could refracture where the spine was already hurt, minor pinched nerves happened as well at the time of the fracture which leads to some pretty painful days for Lucifer but overall she's usually a sweet mare and deals well with the painful moments and enjoys every bit of the non-pain filled days.

She was a terror to her parents as a filly because of her constant wandering off, nowadays they still worry a bit because she is still known to wander wherever she can. Autumn can be pretty spooky when she's in her excited and playful mood, and is ready to throw in a small crow hop to her running around in her pasture. When it comes to being ridden she will throw out bucks like a crazy rodeo bronco before settling down and letting someone out on her back, she doesn't do the pre-ride bucks because she doesn't want to be ridden but because of her over excitement to going out riding anywhere. When it comes to being a mother, Autumn urges her babies to be curious about everything around them, she finds curiosity as a sign of a healthy, happy foal and wants nothing but healthy and happy fillies and colts.

Personality: Rose can be shy when it comes to meeting new people, and she doesn't respond well to stress or change, retreating from anything that makes her feel threatened. Once you get past her shy shell, though (or mention horses in any capacity), she is relatively bubbly and perpetually cheerful with a wry sense of humour.

Her other two fields are a bit more lacking - her tight turns need more work for SJ, and she can't seem to concentrate on dressage at all, but her and her rider are working on it.
Newbie competition horse? Koda doesn't mind taking newbies around an SJ course or two, but she is not to be ridden in beginner dressage under any circumstances. Her aids and concentration aren't anywhere near good enough for that ^^

He, although more of a thinker, can tend to rush into situations and take charge without fully thinking things through, which can get him into trouble.

That said, and especially since he's one of the rescues, Dragon gets worked with by the newbies a lot as a way to get them used to difficult horses and groundwork. Personality: Sörli is a born leader. She is strong, independent, and an expert at settling disputes and delegating jobs. In short, she's the perfect lead mare. Sörli seems to never quite know what to say or do around other tolters (although she's all too happy to boss them around when the group is bigger), and attempts at making solid friendships tend to be painfully awkward for the mare. She is great with kids and beginner riders because of her gentleness, she'll forgive you for an accidental tug, pinch or poke in sensitive places. She has average speed but incredible endurance and can trot for hours without tiring, her gaits are smooth like butter and she always pays attention to the cues of her rider. As a horse for a novice, she is practically perfect, but there are two things that bring out her protective side to an almost insanely high level of aggression, one is carnivorous predators. She has stomped out a cougar when it showed up in a pen with her when she was a couple years old, the other one is danger to her foals. Some people think that protecting her babies is the same as going crazy on a predator but sometimes if she feels that a human handler is being too rough with her foal, she could easily become aggressive towards them. Paint won't go after a human the way she does predators but she will bluff about how willing she is to bite and rear if her foal starts becoming upset by something a human is doing with her baby.

Personality: Lucifer was trained too young and too fast to be ridden but many horses are so Lucifer's training isn't her negative thing. Her negative thing is she managed to have her spinal cord fractured by a rather large rider with only ten days on her riding record at the time. Due to the lack of care by her previous owners, Lucifer was taken by the SPCA and Ever since then she's been used as a pasture pet because having anyone else on her back could refracture where the spine was already hurt, minor pinched nerves happened as well at the time of the fracture which leads to some pretty painful days for Lucifer but overall she's usually a sweet mare and deals well with the painful moments and enjoys every bit of the non-pain filled days.

With the right person in the saddle he's the perfect mount, he's got speed and can turn faster than you would expect from him, his only unusual problem is he has an extreme fear of water.

Personality: A sweet and playful girl, she doesn't listen to anyone and does her best to keep her curiosity sated by checking everything out herself. She was a terror to her parents as a filly because of her constant wandering off, nowadays they still worry a bit because she is still known to wander wherever she can. Autumn can be pretty spooky when she's in her excited and playful mood, and is ready to throw in a small crow hop to her running around in her pasture. When it comes to being ridden she will throw out bucks like a crazy rodeo bronco before settling down and letting someone out on her back, she doesn't do the pre-ride bucks because she doesn't want to be ridden but because of her over excitement to going out riding anywhere. When it comes to being a mother, Autumn urges her babies to be curious about everything around them, she finds curiosity as a sign of a healthy, happy foal and wants nothing but healthy and happy fillies and colts.
