I have a picnic at the end of the moth, making a reverse able red riding hood cloak with some gorgeous fabric, one side is red with a flowery pattern on it, and the other is red double velvet (it's so soft!!!)
Thrift stores are best friend at the moment, got a bunch of stuff I needed for my red riding hood and honey lemon cosplays at thrift stores for less than $20

Yes thrift stores are amazing for that ^_^ . I wish there was some where I live :3 .
On another note, I decided my next cosplay will perhaps be Uta from Tokyo ghoul, Matt Millar from Saints Row III & IV, Izaya Orihara from Durarara, Amaimon from Blue Excorcist or perhaps a Koga or Inuyasha from Inuyasha. Too many choices >_<
I also still have to finish my Kyubey cosplay.

I'm working on red riding hood at the moment because I need it for a picnic at the end of the month.
Honey Lemon and Rapunzel aren't needed until mid july, so I have a bit more time to finish things off.
I just need to style the wig and finish the skirt for Rapunzel to be done
and make the bag, paint the ping pong balls I'm using as the chem balls, make the armor pieces - chest plate and helmet (I'm super nervous about these as I've never done any thing like that before, make covers for the shoes. So I have a lot of work to do for Honey lemon

I'm sure you'll do fine making the pieces you need for your cosplays ^_^

so, i do lots of cosplays which need stuff like binders and corsets (steampunk or different gender cosplays) but i JUST grew out of my last corset, and the lady i got it from on etsy doesn't do corsets anymore. i got my old one for 90$. i've checked around but everyone has prices like 350$, 700$, and so on. i can't spend that much. at most, i can spend about 125$ on a corset and thats it. i mean, i might be able to get one in september when i go to the renaissance faire that we have in town, but it might be too much.
and i know i can get binders on amazon ^-^

I'm not sure about corsets, but you can theoretically learn how to make one online, (I looked into making one when I was doing research for my elsa cosplay - before eventually deciding against it)
Could be cheaper than getting a premade one, but I don't know the cost of the materials and stuff in your area.

If any of you need wigs, Arda is selling all of their discontinued styles and colors for half price. Arda is the one US based cosplay wig company I am familiar with that is any good (I know some others but they're pretty much trash IMO). I find Arda to be very overpriced, so this sale is a pretty good one. I recommend you guys check it out C:
@XxIgnisxX - omg Matt Miller
@Barry Allen - I have made corsets before. It takes a LOT of work. There's a reason they're generally so expensive xD when I did it there was a lot of weird bunching. I'd try maybe looking online for bridal corsets? They tend to be cheaper (generally not always) and way more basic but you can edit them to fit your needs.
My current next big project is Dragon Age Inquisition cosplay. My friends and I are doing the advisors, Josephine, Leliana, and Cullen. I am ridiculously excited. I've been making chainmail constantly for like 2 months lol now that classes are over til the fall I should make more progress. That's for a con in September.
This month I'm going to Momocon. Im doing The Devil Is a Part Timer and KHR costumes with my friends. I'm also doing a Pokemon gijinka group but that isn't finished yet so who knows xD

I can only go to one con a year, the rest of the year is dotted with picnics and other types of cosplay meet ups, organized by cosplayers in my area. I've been to one ball, two zoo trips, one museum trip, and two picnics, in last year and almost half. I often recycle old cosplays when going to things like this, the only time I didn't was when I had a pokemon themed zoo trip and made an eevee cosplay using mostly stuff I had at home, (the only thing I needed was fur to do the ears and tail)
I get my wigs of ebay mostly (or the local equivalent - trademe), arda is waaaaaay too expensive for me. They look really flash, but I just can't afford them, and shipping from the US is super hella expensive on top of getting the wig.
ebay (depending on which stores you look at) often offer free shipping. Soo for me that's a plus

I 100% agree! I get my wigs from ebay all the time; I even have favorite sellers just for wigs. But since Ardra is half off it's a lot more affordable. Plenty of their wigs right now are just 15 dollars ~
I get excited by sales xD
