i'm sure everyone agrees that diversity is great,
and morris has a really good point too, but i
think that diversity is also rare because it's hard
to find good faceclaims and pictures. as for
caucasians, finding pictures for your charries
are a breeze vs finding gifs and appropriate
images for other races and ethnic groups. plus,
there's also the fear of coming off ignorant if
the character info isn't quite right. maybe even
'racist' if we choose to make the character follow
particular norms and stereotypes for a particular
race/ethnic group. honestly, it's human nature to
stick to what we know, and hard to break out of
our comfort zone. for me, i always appreciate
those who incorporate diversity b/c it's hard to do
so. in the long run, i think everyone enjoys the
diverse character. as person of color myself, i
LOVE seeing diversity. not just in the rp forums,
but also on tv, movies, books, etc.

can i just say: props for glas/pele for creating
diverse characters. yeah girl, i stalk you.

i feel you, woodland. because most roleplays are set in the states, i'm not at all comfortable playing people who are first generation. personally i'm second gen and that's as far as i go :/ even then i'm only really comfortable with southeast asians and central america bc what even is argentina and its vosotros? i don't get their grammar

and it's just so hard to find faceclaims. thanks, media. anyways. it's understandable that people like to stick to what they know and let other people take the leap. but it's also kind of annoying and i just D:

IDK MAN IT'S HARD TO PUT THIS INTO WORDS

omg woodland? i stalk you so hard just asdfghjkl

thank you very very much for editing my thing. i'm sorry that i'm being super rude- really sorry- but i can't help it. someone posts right after me? why not pay attention?
diversity is pretty much the only thing they like at my school. so yeah, diversity is pretty important.
if it's hard for you, keep on trying to be diverse with your characters until you are comfortable. one
bad entry isn't going to hurt anybody. instead, it will make you stronger. it gets really annoying be-
cause the one thing most of these roleplays lack are diversity. their character has blonde hair, gre-
en eyes, is timid and shy, and was bullied. i was bitten by the generic bug at one point, but divers-
ity is much better than anything that you might see on the non-literate roleplays with new users. no
offense, they're just learning, but i really hope that everyone can be comfortable with diversity among
their characters. since this was really cheesy, i'm going to congratulate all of you for making this thr-
ead breath air again. woohoo! keep on writing and coding and, um, being a tumblr lover?

i stay on AS a majority of the time and everyone on this thread that's there should message me >o>

i don't really code, because i just don't have as much time/patience as the rest. plus, i'm really simple and everyone else's is so intricate and beautiful and i just can't xD plus, with the whole issue about "code stealing" i feel really worried and i don't need any hostile accusations and stuff like that vov
i code (try to at least) every now and then but eh

as for diverse characters, i'm indian, but i've never played a diverse character
and if i ever do (i actually probably will soon, since i have some fcs), i'd probably end up setting it as they have an american family and they're adopted or they're completely americanized or something of the sort, if that makes sense
but it would be wonderful for more ethnic fcs vnv

i code whenever i find an interesting roleplay, or i get an idea for one; but it's not planned out. all of my forms where just me messing around until i got something simple and satisfying.

as for diversity, i'm not that diverse myself though i love it when i see a roleplay with different characters both physically and personality wise. i'm very picky with my characters and though i want them to be different from each other, i kind of have a certain skin/hair/eye color combination preference, though i switch it up every now and then. might also be because i'm latin-american and i really love my people's features and culture so i like to stay with it for the most part.

    i'm on as too cx

i try to be creative wth my characters, making each different and not something I always see. i'll admit, it's hard though. for looks, i do have a preference but i try to change it up. i try to find unique pictures and whatnot, but it all just depends on what i find. most of my characters are caucasian though, even though i have considered making characters other than that. i've always been too nervous though; i'm worried someone will judge me for how i'm playing them or something. dumb, i know, but it's still an irrational fear of mine xc
as for personality wise, like some of y'all said, most stick with what they're comfortable with and what i happen to be comfortable with is cliche. every so often though, i'll go out of my comfort zone and make a leap for something i'm not used to.
my characters are always american though, only because i'm from america and i've never been out of the country. i don't want to make a character from canada, or australia or even the uk and be completely wrong about how they speak or act or anything about the places. i don't want to seem ignorant or anything, so i tend to stay away from playing characters like that, even though i do want to play one sometime.

alas, since i've been gone for quite some time, i haven't made any new characters. but after reading this, i may go make a character that isn't like the rest of mine cx

as for coding, i sadly don't code. i never had the patience for it, or the computer. my laptop was a mac (which is sadly messed up and needs to be fixed :c), and coding on macs look different. it doesn't line up the same way. also, i just never had the creativity for it.

    so, yeah. hi guys. hope y'all don't mind me popping in and giving my input c;

    blurp. mini rant here:

    • CODERS ARE NOT WEB DESIGNERS.
    • BBCODERS ARE NOT WEB DESIGNERS.
    • CODERS ARE NOT BBCODERS.

**no hate, just need to clarify.

and while i'm here: how do you guys decide when you're done adding extra decorations/lyrics to your coding? i have a problem with just adding in too much and not knowing when to stop or how to restrain myself. everything looks good and i want it all in one form lmao

idek, it's just intuition i guess lol
when it fills the empty spaces in the form.
