Physical Information

Build:
Cougarpaw is tall, long, and lean, with very long legs. The build of his body generally makes him look thin and smaller than he really is. His torso is deep-chested with flat sides. Ears are broad, tall, and set high on his head. His cheekbones are striking—prominent, long, and angular.

Coat/Fur:
[i]The tom has a short, rough coat that teds to stick out at odd angles, especially if it's wet. Cougarpaw's main coat color is a warm beige. He also has black ticking/black stripes on the inside of his upper legs and to a lesser extent on the outside, black rings on his tail, a black tail tip, and black tabby markings around his eyes.

Eyes:
Round and almond-shaped. Bright amber coloration, often filled with determination, and, sadly, a hint of self-doubt.

Personality:
- Friendly, despite his lack of self-confidence and shy demeanor, Cougarpaw's a real sweetheart once he gets to talking. He's willing to laugh and talk, he just really needs to gain a trusting relationship with another cat.
- Shy, Cougarpaw tends to avoid social contact other than when he trains with his mentor. Another cat coming on a little to strongly will most likely make him very uncomfortable and will drive him into a panicked silence.
- Not very self-confident, he wasn't treated very well by the twolegs who owned him for the first few months of his life, so sometimes he feels a little insignificant compared to other apprentices, both because of his mistreatment and the fact that he wasn't clan born.
- Skittish, he a little bit of a scaredy-cat to say the least. Cougarpaw hates it, but he really can't help it. He's lived a life where he's always had to look over his shoulder, so he's a little over-alert. Makes him a bit of a better fighter and hunter though, he's ready for any and everything at any point. Rustling grass or rainfall could wake him up from a dead sleep.
- Determined, Cougarpaw almost has an obsession with proving himself and becoming a warrior. Even though he's so shy, during training he has undivided focus and concentration. With his assessments coming soon, he's been working extra hard lately, but he may be overdoing it a little...

History:
Like most kittens belonging to twolegs, after he was a few months old, Cougarpaw, called Ness at the time, was adopted far away to another twoleg family. Everything quickly went downhill. These twolegs were... different, to say the least. Their kits played too roughly with him, and he often got hurt because of it. He didn't think they intended to hurt him, but it happened often enough that he began to grow biter and aggressive towards them. That's when they got rid of him. Literally. Poor Ness was thrown out of he house and left to fend for himself. At the time, Ness was only about 5 moons old, and very afraid to be alone. He traveled on his own for days, following a large river and hoping to find other cats living along it somewhere. By the time he had gotten to the marsh, he was half-starved and worried he'd be alone forever. Traveling further into the forest by the marsh, Ness began to smell other cats, but by this point the poor kit was exhausted and he passed out in the middle of the territory. He was found by two other cats, cats he later came to know as Fogpelt and Fawnstep. The two of them took him safely back to the Marshclan camp where he was given food and shelter. He was taught about the warrior code and the ways of a clan, and later asked if he wanted to join. The kit didn't have much choice by this point, joining them was his best bet for survival. He was named Cougarkit, only for about a moon though. He was eventually given the name Cougarpaw, and he now lives in Marshclan with his clanmates. Sadly, he still feels a little out of place, but he still tries his best to prove himself.
