In 1973, a convoy of horse trailers carrying 154 horses in total got into a massive pile-up in Brazil. 87 of the horses were killed or badly wounded in the crash. The remaining horses ran from the crash, they ran far, fast.

In the past 42 years, these various breeds of horses lived together, wild. Through generations they have formed a breed known by the name of The Brazillian Teke. These horses continue to live and breed in the rainforests of Brazil, but also face the dangers of humans and other predators.

• Conformation •
Tall, lanky horses, The Brazillian Teke has the body of a Thoroughbred, and averages a height of 16.0hh-18.2hh for stallions and 15.2hh-17.3hh for mares. The breed has very long, thin legs, with small, sturdy hooves and light, minimal feathering. They also have the neck of an Arabian, and the head of a Lippizanner. Brazillian Tekes also have the exceedingly long and curly mane and tail of the Andalusian. They also have the beautifully curled ears of the Marwari.
