personality
[ insecure ] [ shy ] [ reliant ] [ childish ] [ naive ] [ extroverted ] [ protective ] [ loving]
You may ask yourself how October is so extroverted, yet shy and insecure. This is a common confusion between her and other people. October develops a way to cope with her insecurities and shyness so it's usually not seen by the average person. How does she cope, though? It's hard to say, but she thinks it's because she can hide it under her silliness and interests. Those act like an excuse for October: if you're being silly and naive - while she personally wishes she could act more maturely, it can't be helped - she blames it for her age and the environment she's in. October absolutely loves making new friends, but it's a different story if you want to know a lot more about her than most people do. Nosy people don't bode well with October - she feels inclined to give people information about herself slowly, not being forced to.

Dependency is an obvious one for October. She loves her family so much that it pains her to be separated from them - as well as having everything done for her. While she does occasionally want to do things herself ("like a big kid") like any child would, that makes for a few complications. October is completely happy with her family, don't get me wrong - however, she can't help but spark a bit of jealousy at her other siblings. Perhaps it's her young age or the fact that she has trouble realizing when her moms pay attention to her, but sometimes she just can't help it.

The child in her sprouts from her interests and relations to her family, mostly. She can't help but gush about every little thing that's going on - she and her siblings constantly do it to each other, so she's practically used to it now. This gives her a sense of childlike behaviour and being naive. Almost in a way like August, she can be pushed into believing something by other people - especially ones she trusts. However, if it's just a simple trick like: "Let's put hot sauce in Anya's toothpaste! It'll be fine, don't worry, she won't get mad!" she probably wouldn't believe them, needless to say. Ideally, if you want to trick October, it'll involve her interests. She'd probably believe anything along the lines of "A new Fire Emblem game came out today!" because she'd be so excited for it and not notice the fact that it's a complete and utter lie.

October is completely protective of her family. There's no doubt there: she constantly talks about them to everyone and how great they are. That doesn't mean she has her fair share of hissy-fits, though. Often, she believes Tori and Bella pay less attention to her than they do to August or Wesley - an obviously untrue fact - out of sheer jealousy. It's a hard task to be a mother, and while October sometimes understands that, she doesn't when it comes to attention. Cosplaying, being different out of the hope that she'll be noticed more frequently. It's a bad habit, and could lead to problems, but that's for another time.

Another thing is that she frequently becomes wary near older adults. She takes the term "respect your elders" quite literally - she finds it hard to approach them in fear of angering them or seeming annoying. While that is not the case most of the time, October can't seem to shake the idea that most people older than her probably dislike her in some way. Usually she's fine with kids her age - which is why she adores August so much - but even with her own mothers she finds herself being a little shy around them.

In the future, October will slowly learn to detach herself from her family. It'll be hard for her, of course - moving out and going to college/university is a scary thing for many people, including her. Perhaps being so attached-to-the-hip isn't a good thing for her: she hasn't really put herself 'out there' without being behind the safety of her mothers and family. She hasn't really gotten a taste of the real world, needless to say: being constantly protected by her parents and family is not quite the best thing for her. However, she accepts this fact. While she does realize that she'll start needing to be her own person, she honestly doesn't think she's ready.

Favorite way to pass a rainy day? She couldn't choose just one - it'd be cosplaying, spending time with her family, or playing video games with Wesley!

Worst fear? Needles - but not the type you'd get at the clinic. Her fear lies in piercing and tattoo needles, oddly enough. Whether it be infections, damaging her body, etc, she just can't seem to handle them.

Night owl or early bird? October much prefers the mornings, but often she'll stay up so late with Wesley and August in secrecy that she'll end up sleeping through the morning.

What does she think is her best trait? While she doesn't think any of her traits are that great, she'd probably say her love and loyalty to her family.

What does she consider her worst flaw? Her indecisiveness. She knows quite well that she's unable to control her decisions and opinions - they're often on a whim.

Blood is thicker than water, yes or no? While she'd feel like saying 'yes' automatically, it dawned on her that no relationship will last forever and it can fluctuate between the two. As of now, she thinks yes.

Favorite type of amusement park rides? Since October is an absolute scaredy-cat about these things - and her siblings do let her know so, too - she usually sticks to the more dull ones. However, she's very fond of fun houses and mirror mazes.

Preferred season? While she dislikes the coldness of winter and the warmness of summer, she loves when it's just turning to spring and autumn.

What does she think about school? Personally, she dislikes it as she's constantly worrying as to what others think of her. But nevertheless, she still enjoys being in the same class as August and learning new things.

More likely to fight or flight?
It'd probably be after she analyzed the situation - what she was up against, basically - before she'd decide. However, more than likely she'd choose flight.

Favourite family member?
Well, at first she'd insist that she has no favourite and they're all equally important to her. However, August has to be her favourite.

Would she rather be freezing or sweating?
Both sound equally gross to her - freezing is the better choice.

Favorite book?
The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate, definitely. Bella had read it to her once, and despite her pleads for another story from Tori, she actually ended up liking it very much.

Favorite TV show?
Even if it doesn't air anymore and was filmed quite a long time ago, she has nearly every single season on DVD - Wizards of Waverly Place. Despite it being directed to slightly older kids she enjoys the humour and magic-aspects of it.

Has she ever been to a comic book/video game convention?
No, but she certainly wants to! She's walked past them before and that's when she realized they existed - Wesley, her, and somehow August have been saving up to all go to the next one that comes to their town!

Cats or dogs?
She'll have to go with cats for this one - she finds them elegant and beautiful with the way they walk and can leap so far.

Would she rather go to Antarctica or Hawaii?
Hawaii, definitely - Antarctica would be a bit isolated and not as interesting as she'd want.

What sport is she best at?
While she's not great at any sport in general, she's probably the best at badminton.

What is her favorite school subject?
Math! Though an unpopular choice, she associates math with gaming and often has dreams of becoming a game developer. While that dream probably isn't going to continue throughout her life, as a child she can dream all she wants.

Would she rather cough or sneeze?
Coughing, oddly enough. Her brothers often will tease her about how she 'sneezes like a kitten', so she usually tries not to sneeze around them despite having no control of it.

Does she prefer to use technology or not?
While she could be better off without it, October definitely prefers to use technology no matter what anyone else says.

If she could travel to any time period, what would it be?
If the near future could count, she'd definitely choose that. However, she'd love it if she could travel back quite a few years to the 1990s! That was when most of her favourite game series began, so it'd be perfect for her.

Track #3 ♫ ["Downfall"]

One of October's many passions in life is creating original 8bit music. While she has a usually short attention span and cannot work on chiptune music for long spans of time, she prefers making little ringtones and usually twenty-second long tunes. This is one of her favourite hobbies, but she refuses to share it with most people - even her own two mothers. While she occasionally gives Anya a listen or two, as she's usually curious about what she's doing, October continues to be far too shy to share her music to the rest of the family. You may question her insecurities, but October has her own mindset: she loves her family so much she can't bear to see them disappointed with her. It's her own disbelief that's her downfall - having such a shy and insecure outlook on her family has really taken a toll on October. Perhaps it's living up to invisible expectations she's set for herself - Tori being a former popstar, and Bella's taste in music - but one day, October swears she'll become better and make Bella and Tori proud.

For creating her chiptunes, she uses a website called Pulseboy and saves the finished tunes to her computer. Once you get a hang of how the program works - which, in reality, it's extremely simple as it only requires a basic knowledge - it's easy to create chiptunes. Often she asks Anya to give her basic beat ideas, where she then transforms them into a little more complex chiptune. While October knows she could never actually make a living off of this, for now, it's a boredom buster and hobby for honing her skills and nothing more.

Image
cosplaying . October hasn't really explained to any of her family members as to why she cosplays - if asked, it's usually a quiet "I just happen to like doing it" - but that's not the entire story. Because October is so frequently insecure about almost everything she does, she believes cosplay is combining what she loves and how to stand out from the rest of her family. Even if it seems like she's constantly wanting attention - which she'd never admit, of course - she loves her family more than anything, yet feels nobody really notices that aspect of her. Aside from that, however, October cosplays just as a hobby and wouldn't imagine herself going out to a con as she'd find herself far too shy to do so. While cosplaying is expensive, she often convinces Bella and Tori to attempt to help her sew together fabric - regardless of how good they are at it or not - to create her outfits. Although she loves creating different outfits to wear, wigs are a no-no: she finds them itchy and instead just styles her hair similar to said character. Three of her favourite cosplays are Nah and Tiki both from Fire Emblem, and Zelda from Legend of Zelda. Though she'd never admit it, she absolutely loves dressing up in more frilly-type dresses - bows, fancy hair, ribbons, the like - it makes her feel pretty and different. It may seem like attention-hogging or silly to most, but to October, she feels like she finally feels special.

collecting merchandise wrote:Aside from her closet full of cosplays, October frequently finds herself collecting a lot of merchandise from various series. Instead of collecting little trinkets, she prefers an odd choice - weaponry. It originally sprouted from the vigorous gaming competitions between the siblings. Usually, Wesley and October would pick a fight with each other - then somehow, August and Anya would end up in the mess as well. Almost weekly they'd have competitions to see who was better at a certain game, previous winner's choice - and in the end, October was introduced to a lot of new games with a lot of cool weapons. While she, at the age of seven, doesn't quite understand the power of these weapons would have in real life, she still enjoys looking at the different abilities and appearances they can have. While her forever favorites still remain, Wesley and her now play co-op Portal as best they can, though, that usually doesn't end up too well with bickering and purposely trying to throw one another off the edge with a multitude of portals. But aside from that, ignoring Bella's pleads, she's finally started a small collection of foam merchandise from her favourite games. So far she's had the Hylian Shield from Legend of Zelda, Robin's Levin Sword from Fire Emblem: Awakening, the Falchion from Fire Emblem, and most oddly enough - the Pepper Grinder from Alice: Madness Returns. While they're just made of foam and completely harmless, October finds it somewhat fun to have little secret fights with August and Wesley, despite their mothers' worries of accidental injuries.

Though at first, October was unsure of what to make of Cressida: she seemed to live at the beach and talk about nothing else. At another point, Wesley, August, and October were all convinced she was a mermaid - which was easily disproved after multiple attempts of trying to shove her into the water, which she wasn't too happy about. After those awkward encounters, October slowly began understanding her more and where her love for the beach came from. While October definitely isn't an outdoors person - bugs, dirt, and sunburns aren't exactly optimal for her - she slowly grew fond of the times where Cressida would take her, August, and occasionally Wesley, to the beach. Cressida is still trying to teach her how to surf and dive, but that's still a work in progress...

Cynthia: the one stop for books everything. First meeting Cynthia at a bookstore Tori and Bella took the siblings to, she inquired about where she could find a specific book. Though being a child, and obviously unhelpful, Cynthia tried to the best of her ability to help her - and October could see that. In her eyes, she considers Cynthia childlike - though she is far from it - because she understands that October can't be possibly great at everything. Often October offers to help out Cynthia at her bookstore off-business hours - organizing books the way she was taught to, helping put displays up, and most importantly of all, keeping her company. In exchange, Cynthia sometimes gives her discounts off of the books she buys - her most recent purchase being Hyrule Historia - and extra help with reading lessons. Now, whenever her mothers take her out, October practically begs to be taken to Cynthia's work.

Iridessa and October are practically opposites - their minds are so different, and yet they end up being extremely close friends. Similarly to Wesley, they often bicker and fight over the silliest of things, but that doesn't mean the two don't get along. Often, October tries to explain video gaming to Iridessa, which doesn't work out as Iridessa is far too innocent and childish to understand the mechanics. Usually, she somehow ends up in a death match between October, Wesley, and August, and in a confused daze, ends up in last place. As for Iridessa's attempts of finding shared interests, she frequently finds herself running after a rare species of butterfly that October just so happened to scare off after yelling numerous amounts of "get it away from me!" and "it's a creepy crawly!" Luckily, she doesn't think the same way about Iridessa - who also happens to look like a 'creepy crawly'.

To put it shortly, October considers Vanity to be an idol. Though ignoring Tori and Bella's constant worries of hurting herself, she absolutely adores Vanity: for one reason, and one reason only. Her attitude definitely isn't the reason, that's for sure - but in fact, it's her sword. A family heirloom passed on down to Vanity herself - an elegant design and very sharp to the touch. While Vanity is fully aware of its properties and how much damage it can do, October is not. Constantly wanting to use it and see how it feels in her own hands, October won't let up on the fact that she absolutely loves Vanity's sword. Unfortunately, the affection isn't returned - to be frank, Vanity finds October somewhat annoying and unpredictable. In all honesty, she wish she'd just leave her alone.

Fabel's introduction to October was a slightly questionable one. It all began with a simple game between the three siblings - hide and go seek in the 'haunted forest' a block or two away from their house. August was pushed into being the 'seeker', of course, while Wesley and October hid. What the three hadn't fathomed, however, was the fact that the forest was so big that three little plumerians could easily get lost. After hours of being isolated, seemingly completely alone, the three were brought back together by Fabel. Who knows how she found them - she claims it to be instinct, of course - but yet, Tori and Bella were confused and worried, but nevertheless grateful Fabel had found them. Aside from that, October loves Fabel a lot. She considers her to be like another older sister - except with the whole wings and plants following her everywhere. Although, October's convinced Fabel should let her have a ride around the forest one time...

Tabs was an immediate friend for October, there's no denying it there. In fact, at first, October made the mistake of thinking Tabs was an actual cat. They first met at a local coffee shop where Tori had taken her to get a pastry treat. While waiting in the lineup, she was looking towards the tables and saw her fast asleep. For the next five minutes, October had gone on to Tori about how there was a cat in the shop. Eventually, Tabs woke up, and she soon noticed October staring at her. Confused and tired, she walked up to her and Tori and smiled; asking if October liked cats and following it up by giving October a small toy cat off her key chain. October was surprised, but Tori let her keep it - and she's had it on her key chain ever since. Even though Tabs and her don't talk much anymore, she still thinks about her a lot.

October loves her family very much; there are a few complications, however. Though she'd never admit it, she feels especially close to August - she doesn't enjoy seeing him constantly be rushed into things and often tries to tell him to avoid those situations. Wesley can be a hit or miss, as October doesn't enjoy constant trouble from him and the aura he gives off. This doesn't necessarily mean she dislikes Wesley - video gaming is a competitive sport for the two. As for Anya, she feels slightly nervous near her and has seen how she can get annoyed. Disregarding that, October has a large amount of respect for her and her music tastes. As for her mothers, well - in October's eyes, Tori is very important and respected. October admires Bella's intolerance of trouble and agrees with her on many things.
opinion on having two mothers wrote:Though October is still a child, and can't quite grasp
the situation just yet, she's able to form an opinion
nevertheless. She personally loves the idea of
having two mothers: from a young age she never
really understood the gender roles and how they
fit for her. This ties in with the fact that she uses
demigirl as her gender identity - learning what the
word had meant when she asked her mothers about
her gender. It, personally, feels most comfortable to
her, so that's what she uses. Aside from that, though,
October calls Bella and Tori by different names. It
may seem weird, but "mom" isn't enough to cut it
when they're both around. She calls Tori 'momma'
and Bella 'mommy' - and while the two didn't take
notice of it at first, they slowly learnt the difference
between the two. It was after numerous occurrences of
having October telling the other that she meant the
'other' mother.
While a few people at school have commented on the
fact she has two mothers when Tori and Bella come to
pick up the siblings from school, she's simply learnt to
not care about those kinds of people. Well - that's what
Tori suggested, anyways. Bella's option of putting her
foot down wouldn't quite work.
In summary, she's glad to have two mothers. She
wholeheartedly believes it's the same as any other
gender combination and she'll stick with that.
her mothers
Tori, "Momma" & Bella, "Mommy" -- " Momma! Can you tell me another story? "
Image " Can we listen to another song, mommy? "
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
------Tori is what October would ideally like to be. Though
she rarely ever talks about her past career, October enjoys hearing
stories about living a life as a popstar. Instead of bedtime stories,
October prods Tori to tell her about her ex-popstar life. As she's
far too young to actually understand Tori's dislike of talking about
such things, October still pushes Tori to tell her stories. To seven
year old October, a popstar life sounds wonderful - money, fame,
and the like - and she undoubtedly wishes she could have such a
lifestyle. To know her mom was one is simply unbelievable to
her. Frequently believing that Tori should get back into singing,
she doesn't quite realize the effort and downsides to a lifestyle like
that. Aside from that, October respects Tori but secretly wishes she'd
notice her more and set some stricter rules down for the siblings.

------As for Bella, October doesn't know as much as she
does about her past as she does Tori. However, she feels closer
to Bella. Though it may be odd, October appreciates Bella's sense
of protectiveness and respect for her family - not the other way
around like most children would think. She's seen Bella get mad -
and boy, you don't want to purposely do that. She appreciates
Bella's love for her that she'd be so protective - after all, there's not
many people in the world that would do that much for you. Often
October wants to convince Bella to listen to her music and ask her
opinions on it, but to no avail as October's too scared to ask.
It sounds silly, even with her own mother, but there's that insecure
barrier that October can't seem to break with Bella and Tori.
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Image
her siblings
    August, Wesley, & Anya ------ " Ha! I finally beat you! "
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
------While August is October's twin, this solely isn't the reason why she loves him so much. Though totally untrue, she feels as if older people in her family are less likely to care about her opinions. Since August is the same age, relatively the same height, and understanding, October finds herself relating to him most. Often October will 'protect' him from Wesley's trouble - convincing him that it may not be a good idea to do whatever Wesley has planned. She feels comfortable around August, even if he doesn't notice it himself, which is the main reason why she's so accustomed to him. As twins, she believes that they should stick together - as silly as it sounds, October finds it likely - because they'll be there for each other every step of the way.

------As for Wesley, well, the two are closer than they seem. At first sight the two are constantly bickering and getting in trouble accidentally, as well as in a constant neverending cycle of "I'm better at Portal than you" and "well, I'm much better at Metroid than you are!" despite October's attempts to keep the peace between Wesley, August, and their moms. October personally feels pushed aside, and the video game competitions between the two are only to make her feel like she's slightly more important to her family, and actually good at something. The majority of October's injuries come from Wesley's "great" ideas, and the fact that she may get hit in the head by a flying game controller occasionally...

------Anya and October have a strange yet close relationship. Most times, she's wary of her as she's seen her get relatively mad when Wesley bugs her and doesn't want to repeat that. However, at times she feels much closer to her than she actually is - as if she needs the advice of her older sister from time to time. When October creates 8bit soundtracks - although she knows they're not the greatest - she tends to ask Anya on her opinions about them. While she'd never tell either of them this, she hopes to one day show Tori and Bella her music. As of now, unfortunately, she's far too insecure about her talent and refuses to show it to anyone but Anya, oddly enough. October does realize she may become tiring constantly wanting Anya's opinions and is wary of her at times, but she believes their relationship to be relatively strong.

other family
Milkshake, Thickshake, Friday, Danielle, Ravi & Gaston ------ " A-ah! I don't really know them that well, I suppose, but I guess I could say... "
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------October finds Gaston to be a joke; the way he behaves is enough for her to say it's just an act. While she's not unimpressed - it's actually a matter of finding it amusing - she doesn't exactly have a positive or negative opinion on him. Though far too young to actually understand that he's, well, not actually joking most of the time, she often tries to avoid him out of sheer shyness. On the contrary of her actual opinions, she's actually happy that Gaston's around - she thinks August is frequently ignored and she's glad someone pays a little more attention to him.

------Ravi and October are huge Animal Crossing nerds. Though she was unaware the game existed at first, she soon became a fully-fledged fan. Upon meeting Ravi for the first time while he was babysitting Wesley, her, and August, he had mentioned something about it when she was playing Fire Emblem on her 3DS. After a few visits to various game stores, October found herself with a new game - Animal Crossing: New Leaf! Now, whenever Ravi comes over at their house for whatever reason, she always convinces him to bring his DS as well so they can play. They frequently visit each others' Dream Towns, and love to talk about it whenever possible!

------October realizes Danielle can have a difficulty becoming super close with people - she finds herself wary of her and vice versa. She finds her to be such a rolemodel - sassy and confident, striding with importance - nothing like October. She definitely agrees with Dani's dislike of her brother's flirting...while she loves Ravi, she also doesn't like his flirtiness. She finds it funny and odd. As for her graffiti art, October is simply amazed. Though she doesn't quite realize graffiti could get you in trouble if done in the wrong places, she loves Dani for her art, creativity, and spunk.

------Milkshake, while October was unsure of her at first, is enjoyable company for her. Though not fully understanding love quite yet, she's glad Anya found someone she loves very much - and who loves her back too, of course. Frequently she sees Milkshake when she's playing with Friday or Thickshake, but nevertheless, still says hello to her. While she definitely does feel more awkward around her than she does most family members, October understands she hasn't gotten used to her quite yet.

------October absolutely loves playing with Thickshake and Friday. While her siblings play with her most of the time, having two other friends makes it even more diverse in her life. Of course, siblings can be annoying at times and she'll sometimes want to play with anyone but hers - so Thickshake and Friday are a great choice - and she loves talking to them about the weirdest of things, especially "what-ifs". While they may not totally understand what she's going on about, she's content having new friends around the family.

Questionnaire - Her Opinions on Quirks
      tone deafness:
How do you feel compared to the rest of your family?
"Honestly? I wish I could sing as good as them. I know it
seems a bit odd for such a little thing, but if I was
actually good at singing? Maybe I'd be noticed more..
or perhaps, I'd be famous, just like Tori! I wish she'd
talk about it more, hmph. It sounds so fun to be on
stage, singing and performing for millions of other
      plumerians.."

Do you wish you could sing?
"Of course! However, Tori always tries to explain to
me that singing and being so famous comes with a
price, but I don't quite understand what she means,
      exactly.."

      picky eater:
Do you feel this impacts your family?
"Well, a little bit? I'll have to admit, when August
or Wesley want their favourite food I might not like,
it could be a challenge for Momma and Mommy, but
      not too big otherwise?"

      scheduled life
Why do you bother making your life so uniform?
"Oh, well..It's a simple reason, actually.
I prefer to have my life be the same, without large
differences - of course, little ones are fine, but I
prefer not to change my lifestyle and schedule
drastically. I guess it's because I know what to
anticipate - mommy says I should try to change it
up, because in the "big world" I won't know what
to expect, but I think differently. "

      earning every achievement
What's the point in doing this?
"What's the point? Gratification! And, well, you shouldn't
buy an expensive game and not play it to the fullest
potential..that's wasting money, which momma and
mommy specifically told me not to do!"

      Before.
Insecurity. A word defined to uncertainty or anxiety about himself. In this case, it's October's battle. Her mind is like a ship - constantly rocking back and forth between different ideas, wrecking itself when it's a mess and stationary when it's completely calm. After such a storm, the ship is fragile - and once it breaks or has a leak, there's no fixing it. This is October's biggest weakness. She can't control it.
Even though she's only a child, it still affects her greatly. The pressure of not being good enough, or in this case, not ever meeting anyone's standards - mostly the ones she sets for herself - will be the death of her. If her life is not planned out accordingly, chaos will ensue - and her insecurities will take over. Many things impact her, and yet, nobody else seems to know why. The cause of October's insecurities is not quite because of the people around her - it's her herself. The impossible standards she sets up for herself - being just like Tori, as good as video games as Wesley, nice and accepting like August - the list would continue on and on. Her large family is great for her: socialization, friendship, and company is key. Because of this, however, she also has a lot of standards to meet. This is where she begins to feel anxious.

Though many may not know, October's hair was not always as colourful as it currently is [see above picture]. Around two years ago she had decided to dye her hair - and of course, tell Tori and Bella and get their opinions on it. After a long time of arguing and educating herself on the topic, they had finally decided to get it professionally done. It turned out just as she had wanted.
But what was her motive for such a thing?

      Image
      After.
Three years ago, October felt like an entirely different person. She felt extremely childish and naive; ignored for all those reasons. She had to find a way to give herself a new outlook on things: a more colourful one compared to a monotone one. A year passed, and she found herself disliking everything even more. October didn't feel comfortable in her body, in life - she felt better off in many things. This is when she had discovered her gender identity, and made the decision to dye her hair.

Even if it seems like a simplistic thing to most, for October, it changed the world. Having a slightly different appearance made her feel special, important - something shiny and new. Her life changed for the better. She no longer tried to be a carbon copy of her mothers. She began developing a sense of who she is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
October, as a child, has so many ideas as to what she wants to be when she grows up. Any kid would. Whether it be a game developer, a game tester, a music artist, or anything else she can think of - her career will probably change in the future. While she doesn't entirely realize that, of course, she often fantasizes about making these incredible games that a huge audience will love. However, this isn't the end to her ideal career paths. She also, despite being utterly unable to sing, wants to be a popstar. Tori has given her tiny hints as to why she quit singing and has given her bits of interesting stories, but October remains firm with her decision.
To a seven year old, the popstar life is a dream. She grew up watching shows that idealized it - how fun it would be, how great and fabulous being a popstar would be. Honestly, she doesn't know what she wants. It's between making her family happy and her own happiness - and she puts one ahead of the other.
But perhaps, when it comes down to actually growing up, how will she act? October, in her life, has been dependant on her family for as long as she could remember. Heck, Tori and Bella still cut her steak and help her tie her shoes - even if she's somewhat made fun of by her brothers, she actually likes being a kid. It scares her to grow up - moving out, growing to college, and more importantly, leaving everyone she knows..behind. Her friends, family - everyone - is important to her in some special way. Leaving that..would change her entire world. She doesn't know what's truly out there for her besides her family.
Her life won't end as soon as she gets ready to move out, however. October knows that well enough. She trusts that her mothers will help her through it every step of the way, just as they've always had. Maybe she could convince them to find a street with neighboring houses for sale. October does know moving out isn't that difficult as she makes it out to be; she's seen Anya move in with Milkshake, and even helped her do it. However, she knows she's different than Anya. But, in all this chaos, what is her lifeline? Everyone has something like it - something in the world that carries them to safety.
In October's case, it's August.
Essentially, they're the same age. She knows that he'll always be there for her - he has to. She won't let him leave her no matter what - even if it takes getting down on her knees and apologizing to him for anything she's done. She'll feel..empty without him.
Tori, Bella, Wesley, and Anya will be there for her, too. But that's not enough for her. October needs reassurance, despite all her troubles in life. She can't accept their reassurance without being wary of if they're lying or not. In her case, August..is the right choice. While she hasn't entirely realized it yet, as October grows, she'll realize that August is needed in her life more than she gives him credit for.

...

In the future, October will develop a sense of when she is recognized. As of now, she feels she's constantly ignored and pushed to the side - because that's how she thinks she deserves to be. However, upon growing up in the future, she'll find herself slowly realizing what her talents are because of other people complimenting her. She'll discover a better sense of who she is, and finally overcome the few insecurities she's dealt with.

Her life won't be living in a shadow. Her life won't be her constantly owning up to every single little mistake in her life.

She'll finally understand why Tori quit being a popstar. Her life will soon be not just be for pleasing her family. Eventually, she'll learn that being the best at everything..isn't everything. Advantages will outweigh the disadvantages. And more importantly, just because you're in a rather musical family..doesn't mean you have to be musical too.

_______________________________________________________________________________________
Though it was a particularly unpleasant day, nobody had suspected it would be this unpleasant. The morning began unusually - rain drenched the streets and that made for a gloomy morning. Perched at a windowsill, watching cars drag by across the darkly-paved street, sat October, looking up at the sky in curiosity. It was relatively quiet in the house - Bella and Tori were making breakfast and Wesley and August were off playing in their rooms. Closing her eyes for a brief moment, she sighed rather happily and wandered into the kitchen, sitting down at the table and watching as her mothers made breakfast. Tori turned around, smiling as she brought a plate to her while Bella called August and Wesley down. In a storm of footsteps, the two had raced into the kitchen and managed to grab their plates and sit down next to October all in the span of a few seconds. Though it wasn't the first time the two had done that, October was visibly shocked.
"October!" she heard a voice yell. Looking up from her breakfast, she saw Wesley and August smiling. "Come sit with us in the dining room," August offered, extending a paw out to her. She froze for a moment, but then smiled softly. Standing up from where she sat, she grabbed her plate and followed them into the dining room.
Shortly after, Bella walked in and turned the television on - for a moment, the siblings fought over what channel to watch, but silently Bella turned it to a random cartoon channel and they all seemed to be relatively happy. They soon finished their breakfast, hurrying to go and play video games - but not until October cleaned up Wesley's leftover plate and cup. Thankfully, August was nice enough to remember to pick up his dishes after October told him to, but she assumed Wesley had forgotten or been too arrogant not to.
As soon as the three had plopped themselves on the couch, there was a small whistle in the distance. "Oh!" beamed October. "It's a thunderstorm, isn't it, mommy?"
Bella nodded, looking out the window. "Looks like you'll have to stay inside for now, honey," she explained, patting October on the head gently. Tori walked over and smiled, sitting down on the couch next to them.
"It'll be okay, right? At least you have each other for now," she explained.
A few moments after Bella and Tori's words, there was a huge whoosh of wind and the lights slowly crackled off.
"A-ah!" Wesley, August, and October screamed in unison; the couch rattled as they jumped in fright. "What was that, momma?" October asked.
"Oh my," Bella chuckled softly. "Looks like we have ourselves a power outage."
"A power outage?" August asked.
"Yeah," Tori replied. "The wind was so strong that it knocked our power out. Looks like we'll have to pull out the board games for a bit."
"Board games?" the siblings whined, visibly looking dejected. "What..exactly are those?"
"Have you ever heard of the game Monopoly?" Tori asked, smiling widely. "It's like a competition to see who can make the most money," she explained, over exaggerating the fun-factor of the game. Fortunately for her, it worked - all three of their mouths hung open in anticipation.
"Yes!" Wesley shouted.
"Can we pleeease play that?" October chimed in. Bella glanced over at August, who seemed to shrug and nod a little. Nevertheless, she gave Tori the thumbs up as she walked over to take out the board game from a nearby cupboard. Opening the box, the siblings gasped in anticipation. The eight pieces the set included rattled onto the table, along with the folded up board and fake money. Tori smiled and looked at August.
"You can pick which piece you want, since you're technically the youngest," she explained to him.
"But what about me?" October whined. "I'm his twin! Weren't we born at the same time?"
"Not quite," Bella said, managing to before Tori could explain. "You were born after him."
"Really?" October beamed. "Ha!" she chuckled. "I'm older than someone, finally!"
"Well, if you want to put it that way.." Tori laughed. She held out the eight pieces - the dog, wheelbarrow, shoe, thimble, iron, car, ship, and hat - and August selected the hat. Next, Tori moved onto October, who picked the thimble, and Wesley, who picked the car. Bella leaned in and picked the dog, while Tori picked the ship. They each placed their metal character onto the "go" square. Tori also gave them each their own die from other sets of board games. "Roll it once," she said, looking at Wesley before continuing, "and whoever scores highest goes first. If there's a tie, rock paper scissors."
They all rolled, and Bella was the highest number, while August was the lowest. "Looks like Bella will be going first," Tori exclaimed. "I'm going to go get candles and flashlights for you guys. I'll be back in a minute. Bella, if my turn comes around, will you play for me?"
Bella nodded as she grabbed the wad of cash sitting perpendicular to the board. She handed everyone $1500, divided as the rules stated. She then put them to the side. "I'll roll first, then," she exclaimed, picking up the die and rolling it. Getting a 5, she moved 5 spaces ahead, landing on a property piece but deciding not to buy it.
October bit her lip, watching Bella intently. "So..wait," she said, looking down at her cash. "How exactly..do we play, mommy?"
Bella laughed, just now noticing she had never explained the game to the children. "Well, um.." she faltered. "You know what? Let's play hide and go seek, instead," she suggested.
"And we can scare Tori by dressing ourselves in white sheets!" Wesley suggested.
"Wesley, no," Bella looked over at him. "It'll be a nice game of hide and go seek."
"Hmm?" a voice said, coming from the stairwell. "You'll do what, Wesley?"
Wesley gasped, snickering as he ran off into the darkness.
"D-don't hurt yourself!" Bella stammered, squinting her eyes in an attempt to see where he ran off to.
"Mommy," October murmured, "I think... I think...I'll actually just go to bed," she finished, yawning. "I'm pretty tired. Wesley made me stay up last night."
"He did what?!" Bella whispered to Tori. Tori shrugged, laughing calmly.
"Goodnight, mommy," October said under her breath, hugging Bella softly. Turning to Tori, she said a similar thing: "Goodnight, momma," and hugged her as well. She looked at August and winked, before hugging him as well.
"You know, October, that's a great idea," August replied. "I think..I'll go to bed, too."
The two walked into the hallway, and as soon as they were out of hearing distance, they crept into the corner and snickered. "Is your 3DS charged?" she asked, pointing to his room. He nodded. "You grab your 3DS and get onto Mario Party," October offered. "Tell Wesley too; as long as you can find him."
"O-okay," August agreed, before scampering off into the dark hallway.
October ran off into her room, fumbling to find her 3DS to turn it on. Suddenly, there was a crackle - similar to the one they heard a few hours ago. "Oh!" she squealed. The dim chinese lantern in her room flickered on; she could see again!
In her joy, she hadn't noticed she seemed to be squealing a lot - which caused Bella and Tori to notice. She saw two heads peeking through the door, and immediately hid under her covers.
"I thought someone was supposed to be sleeping?" Bella asked.
"Ahaha, well, um, yeah...about that..."

Even though I was quite a few weeks late on the party of entering, I'm still surprised I managed to get a reasonable form done.

I also wanted to say how fun I had creating October's character, and how glad I am to have an opportunity to be a part of the Bella & Tori/Beat family. I wish good luck to everyone entering!
