What Are Icorns? wrote:Icorns come from a planet called Althera. They accidentally came here from a meteor, and have proven themselves to be simultaneously tamable and deadly. Their pelt is similar to horses, and have shown themselves to have diverse personalities.
Here is a list of Icorn facts:
- 100-130 year lifespan
- Asocial creatures, but will tolerate living in small herds
- Roughly 5' 6" average (at the top of the head)
- From another planet (called Althera)
- Have horse-like colors/markings (commonly dunlike markings, with a full-face 'mask' to go along with it)
- Large paws, almost like a bear's (minus the bear claws)
- Small tails, rarely longer or curled
- Short manes that usually go from the head to the back
- Elbow tufts
- Eight teeth total- three teeth for the bottom (which are usually always shown, unless they have a rare underbite; in which case, the top two teeth are shown)
- Carnivores; usually tear out their prey's bones with their teeth and then swallow the fur and meat whole
- Horns can be any size, and are commonly straight; rarely do they curl.
- Pupil-less eyes specialized for night vision and can see infra-red (mostly due to their extremely dark home-habitat)
- Communicate mainly by screeches, grunts, growls and howls, but can learn languages (with difficulty)
- Eyes are commonly shades of green, yellow, orange, and blue; some have been hazel or heterochromatic
- Are normally very approachable, unless they feel you are a threat to them or their foals
- Usually have up to four foals per breeding; two month gestation period
- Do not live in herds, and usually leave their parents at two years of age; mature at three years
- Short tails are normally better suited for their environment, as longer tailed Icorns can be caught in their homeworld's plants
- About as intelligent as a human, with slightly less capacity for the whole names-to-faces thing; can only remember roughly 110 individual organisms at a time
- (Adult) Females are called Mares, males are called Bulls
- (Young) Females are called fillies, males are called calves; non-specific term is foal
- Are able to cry, but unable to smile, frown, etc. They can narrow/widen their eyes and open their mouths to express their feelings, however.
Traits and their rarities:
Green is common, lime is uncommon, blue is rare and purple is legendary/very rare.

- No complaining if you don't win an Icorn.
- No selling Icorns. If you no longer want it, PM the artist or I if the artist is no longer a part of the team. We will either put it up for adoption, or the artist can keep it for his/her/themselves.
- Do not bribe/threaten the artists.
- Do not change the design of your Icorn. Rule does not apply if the Icorn is getting revamped for re-adoption.
- Do not make your own Icorn without my explicit permission.
- If you get added to accessorize your Icorn, under no circumstance should you edit the lines (unless your accessory requires it) or edit the design. Depending on the circumstance, you will either get a warning or a ban.
- Get all line edits or mutations approved by me first before doing them, I will compile a list for artists to use of what is okay and not okay as people ask.
- No spamming, bumping, or one-word posts (or two-word posts).
- Icorns cannot be your fursona.
- Icorns can also not be the mate of your fursona.
- You can take your Icorn off of CS, but make sure you credit me for the lineart and species.
- Every non-staff member is allowed ONE custom up to the 'Rare' rarity. Staff are allowed FOUR customs, and only one can be Legendary.
- Everyone, including staff, is allowed only 7 first-gen Icorns, 5 second-gen Icorns, 3 second-gen Icorns, and 1 fourth-gen Icorn.
- No favoritism allowed when judging. If your friend enters and really wants you to pick them to win, I'll step in and judge for you since I know maybe 1 user really well (and they quit CS).
- Artists may NOT make users bid using ANYTHING. These are a FREE closed species, and any artist caught trying to gain profit from this species shall be banned without warning, and their Icorns will be declared fake Icorns, unable to breed or join in any Icorn-owner activities.
- Any banned users may keep their Icorns if they wish to, but the Icorns will be declared fake and will have a 'FAKE' sign above their body. Banned users may NOT participate in any Icorn-owner activities, and depending on why they got banned, they may be banned from non-owner things too, such as clubs and certain other things.
- You can only adopt one Icorn per week. If you win two, you must pick your favorite out of the two and the artist will have to pick their second-favorite form.
- Please tell me if you know that an artist is stealing someone else's design. Their artist privilege will be revoked for one week for the first offense, and then permanently on the second. Their Icorns will be declared 'FAKE'.
- You must wait two weeks until your newly-adopted Icorn can have a mate, if an adult. If a foal, it must wait four weeks.
- Staff Icorns (like CS's Staff Dogs) can be made during October, November and December. Each Staff member can make one for each month, and may only keep one of their designs from the Staff 'litters' as a custom, if their custom slots are not already full.
