Maybe horsy could have it that if you had originally agreed to do the 200 challenge (the ones who had posted before the original date in the challenge thread), you still qualify for the reward you had been promised, since there was no deadline to have to complete it by. It would only apply to those people and anyone who had not originally agreed to it in the first round would have to abide by the new rules?

I mean I know some would see that it would be unfair that they have to do 800 vs. someone doing 200, but you are agreeing to different terms (completing 800) than those who had agreed to the original terms (doing 200). That way those who had begun the 200 challenge but not completed it could still get what they had been promised as a reward from what they had understood as being a project with no time limit, and the new challenge goers will know how many they need to do under the new agreement guidelines?

Just a suggestion, please don't eat me..

I think that's a perfectly valid suggestion Kita, and would remain fair to those who accepted more recently. The rules changed and we agreed to them as they are now, and someone who agreed to the previous terms shouldn't have to work harder than they'd originally agreed to in order to get the promised reward.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. I agreed to the terms when the 200 challenge first opened. I went into this thinking I would get a dragon or skeleton, (still can't decide which I want) and like I said it is completely unfair that people got their event customs, some even super rare, like the roan dragon quid, and here I am the terms have changed and I'm about over halfway through. I wasn't expecting to have a baby, he was a surprise, and those of you with young children/babies should understand there is barely any time between work and taking care of your child to get online, so I am crawling at a turtle pace with my challenge. I'm just baffled that I'm getting ripped off because I didn't do mine fast enough. The people who agreed to the first 200 challenge should get to keep the rewards we were promised. Those who are doing the new challenge will get whatever rules they signed up for 800/500/300 ect.

To be frank and 100% honest, whether or not you have the time to do the challenge is not going to change the rules or the prizes. Horsy has every right to dictate what you can and cannot have as a custom because, just in case people have forgotten, the species belongs to her and her alone. The challenge is optional, not mandatory, and for fun. If you don't have the time to do it because of work, school, being a parent, or other obligations, that's not Horsy's fault. She's also busy with school and work and other life obligations, that's why she's rarely here, but she still finds time to do things with this community and her species.

People who started the 200 challenge are still getting what they signed up for. People starting the new challenge will have to adhere to the new rules of the challenge whether they see it as fair or not. It's a challenge for a reason, it's not supposed to be easy. If you don't think that's fair, you don't have to participate in it.

If you're upset by the rules because you think they're unfair, I'm sorry that you feel that way. no one is forcing you to participate, those that do will earn their custom through hard work. Be grateful that the challenge was even brought back, because it can be as easily taken away again as it was given to you. This species is free to adopt and while customs aren't free, earning one is going to be a lot of work none the less.

Be grateful for what's being given to you instead of being upset when something seems too hard or not easy enough for you.

Most of the people who haven't finished their 200 challenge yet have already had a custom in mind, and without specifying, in detail, what was really allowed and not allowed before the new challenge opened, most of them are events such as dragons, appys and skeletons. Since it was said plainly that doing a fullbody would earn a rare custom; we've all assumed that anything that is considered rare was allowed, and even now, a year or two later, it seems unfair to suddenly change the rules. Yes Horsy has full power over her species and all of its events, its her species and i wont argue with that period, but to change rules that everyone has already agreed to isn't fair to everyone else.

Perhaps as Kita suggested, as i understood, leaving the rules how they were for those that accepted specifically only the 200 challenge, because its what they've been working towards for the last 2 years, and those that accepted the challenge yesterday and today would adhere to the new rules; making it fair for everyone who wants to participate.

Im posting this as a suggestion to relieve the anger here, not to cause an argument, so if someone would like to say something to me, please do it via PM.

I'm not here to say that the rules to the new challenge are unfair. You don't have to participate in that if you don't want to. I just think that people should be rewarded with what they were promised when they did their challenge.

I understand what you're saying Ishame, changing the rules this far in might seem unfair but rules for what is and isn't allowed for equids has changed in that time. I believe Horsy's trying to limit the amount of rule breaking equids might result from people who possibly haven't went and reviewed the new rules for special and rare equids.

Which is why its important that people familiarize themselves with the rules so Horsy, myself, or the other staff members won't have to remind them of those rules.

Which makes a lot of sense; so perhaps an easy way to fix this would for Horsy, or perhaps another trusted staff member to approve each custom before they are sent to the artist they wish for it to be made by. It would be time consuming, but would solve the problem of rule-breaking equids being made. ^^

I was approving customs before I went on hiatus, then checking challenges was turned over to Sailor.
I'm sure Horsy will appoint a few staff members to checking customs before they're made like before.
