Just to comment on the demand part, pets can have extreme demand while not being on the advent or rares list.
Perfect example of that is the Shima Long Tail.
So I would say they aren't confused.

Correct! Demand varies from person to person. Therefore rarity wise and quantity wise the other person is overpaying. But, depending o your partner and you, that's for you to decide whether the demand for it between you two is enough.

Then unfair to them, the cat goes for an advent list pet rarely, but not much higher than that, the C$ alone would be enough. :)
