Snowfeather smiled softly at the apprentice. "We can practice more hunting later, we had better go back to camp now." she said, with a flick of her tail as she bounded through the woods. "This way!" she called, "I know a short cut!"


Lionstar sighed. "right.' he said again. "Lets get back to camp now. I will deal with this later." the tom looked from Dappledheart, to Kestrelfire, and back again before flicking his tail and trotting towards camp.

Kestrelfire stopped next to Lionstar and eyed the pile of feathers before moving closer to get a better idea of what he was looking at. It had obviously been a bird that was killed across the border. "If they were hunting across the border and didn't want us to know about it," he mewed, "why would they be so lazy in covering their tracks?" He swished his tail from one side to the other, "patrols cross this area almost everyday, it's one of our main routes to the river border. Unless it was an apprentice hunting, I'd think they would avoid areas like this." The red tom shook his head, this whole situation put him on edge. He lashed his tail before turning and following Lionstar back to camp.

Snowfeather smiled as she felt the wind rush through her whiskers. This shortcut was quick, but it went across a thunderpath. The white and grey she-cat closed her eyes as she ran, feeling the soft forest scents wash away behind her. All of a sudden, she stopped. Eyes still closed, she parted her jaws. This....didn't smell like the forest anymore. An acrid scent crossed her tongue and the she-cat opened her eyes wide. she was on...the....Thu- her thought brocess was cut of as something made a loud beeping noise and slammed into her body, sending her flying and landing on the black tar. The last thing Snowfeather heard was an angry monster roaring to life and zooming past before everything went black...


Lionstar nodded. "Thats why im going to talk to her." He meowed. "maybe its seruious, or jsut a clumsy apprentice but im hopeful we can get an answer before a fight breaks out." he looked at the deputy as the sound of screeching reached his ears, coming from farther out in the territory.

Kestrelfire nodded to the golden leader when an earsplitting yowl shook through his mind. Giving himself less than a moment to designate where the sound had come from, the red tom moved ahead of Lionstar and flicked his tail; dashing through the trees. Gritting his teeth at the pain that surged back through his left side, Kestrelfire didn't slow down. Parting his laws to scent the air, the familiar acrid scent of the thunderpath bathed his tongue. "Oh please no," the red tom reached the edge of the trees. The air was hot as he gazed across the dark line that marked the Thunderpath when a silvery shape caught his eyes against the black ground. Watching quickly signs of life across the path, Kestrelfire bolted onto the steaming tar. His eyes wide with horror at the cat he found, Kestrelfire locked his jaws around her scruff and dragged the she-cat into the grass. Circling around her, he pressed his head to her side, she was breathing weakly. There was no way he could carry her back to camp on his own, sitting down beside her, he dropped his head so that his muzzle brushed against his chest fur. "Starclan please let her be okay..."

Lionstar perked his ears, dashing after the deputy, ready to scold him for putting too much strain on himself like a kit. The leader stopped, frozen in place at the scene. He padded up slowly, thankful to see the faint rise and fall of the white and grey warriors chest. The she-cats front leg was bent at an obscene awkward angle and a thin line of blood trickled from just above her eye. "Come on." he said, resting a tail on the deputy's shoulder for a split second, "We have to get her back to camp. and soon." he grabbed the silver warrior's scruff, hoisting her half onto his back, meaning to carry her back alone as to not injure Kestrelfire further
