Dappledheart spat, "There are feathers and blood with fresh StormClan scent all around it!" She turned to show him where it was.

Tigerkit layed there. it might be too late for that... he thought, wobbling to his feet. he made his way over to the medicine cats den. "S-agestep?" he called, hiccuping

Snowfeather looked at the apprentice. "It's much easier to see white fur move than it is for black or brown fur." She explained. "Even with a lot of undergrowth, it's still easier for us to be spotted." She searched behind her. "There..." She said, flicking her tail towards a mouse that was nibbling on a seed at the base of an oak tree, it's back turned to the cats. "See that mouse? The goal is to keep behind the mouse. That way it can't see your white fur." The she-cat crouched down in demonstration. Stalking slowly towards the mouse. The mouse turned, but Snowfeathwr turned with it, so she was always behind the mouse before she leapt, and snap! there was a satisfying cracking sound as the warrior broke the mouse's neck, a clean catch.


AspenStream let out a short huff and dashed after the older warrior, feeling her throat tighten at th sudden increase of speed.

he nodded, taking mental notes of what Snowfeather did. "Don't you face downwind of the prey?" Russetpaw asked curiously. He looked at the catch with interest, proud that he had a fine mentor. Someday, I'll be like her! I'll be able to catch my own mice!

She dragged her tail across the forest floor, pouting that she didn't catch the prey. Rosekit smelt StormClan scent, and attempted to track it to the border. Should I go back to camp?

He looks back over at Swiftpaw and gives her a small shrug. "I've been trying as hard as I can." He says simply before finishing off his mouse

The tom lets out a soft sigh, looking down at Crookedkit thoughtfully. "When I was a kit me and my littermates would play moss ball or if an older apprentice or warrior offered we would play warrior and attack them, pretending they were a badger, fox or a bad cat." He explains softly

The tabby she-cat finishes marking her part of the border. She glances over at Cloudwhisper, "Are you almost finished?" She asks, twitching her ear

she chose the right decision, and padded back to camp. her adventure was over for the day. rosekit sniffed the air, hoping for one last chance to catch some prey.

Cypressheart nodded gratefully at the new deputy. ''That'd be perfect! Do you have any specific cats that you would like me to take along?'' The seal point lynx tom flicked his ear and waited patiently for Kestrelfire's answer.

"Choose who you'd like," Kestrelfire replied, "as long as you bring back plenty of prey." The red tom finished with a smile when Dappledheart dashed through the camp entrance calling for Lionstar with Aspenstream behind her. Watching the golden leader appear, the tortoiseshell she-cat hissed another statement before making her way back out of camp with Lionstar on her tail. Something was clearly wrong, Kestrelfire nodded to Cypressheart and high-tailed his way after the two cats; he had to know what Dappledheart had seen.
