I'm not sure if you've heard of it or if you're looking for something more convenient but I personally use gifcam, which is downloadable. There's also gyazo which you can access from your browser which I've seen people make gifs from, but I haven't myself and I'm not sure how to.

Sadly I have to avoid downloading because my computers a school loan, but I'll check out gyazo, and if not I might have a way to do it without a program (hopefully x.x)

Imgur also lets you create gifs from videos, though in my opinion they aren't the best quality.

☁xxx A little bit back in conversation here but I just thought I'd contribute to the themes discussion thing.

One of the things i think helped me in early sig-making was just taking requests or commissions. My stuff wasn't good enough to sell at first so I started doing them for free, but asking people what theme they wanted and how they envisioned their sig layout, stops me from making terribly similar sigs each time and getting stale. Not that making similar ones is a bad thing, but it's nice to spice things up some times I guess! And it is a brilliant source of ideas.

I know that feeling x.x request or order wise I feel either rushed or lack of creativity, but there are times where it switches on me XP

To be honest, I do layouts by drawing squares.
I am going to post a screenshot of one of the PM's I had with Tadashi which has the layout guideline.

All I did was just go "green, blue, orange, purple, pink, yellow, cyan and there we go."
It's great to get a general layout idea or sketch of what you want to get going xD
Just lay it out there.
I have a few coloured pieces of paper here, I cut those up and just toss it all together, random shapes and other things, take a picture and bam, layout c:
Just to edit, mine is the bottom one, with the blues and pinks xP

Imgur export rate is 128 colours max.
Unfortunately, that isn't enough if you want a irl person gif.
If you want a gif of a IRL person, that means you must have an export rate of a max of 256, otherwise it will just turn out blurry.

True here.
When you know what you are gonna write in the text boxes and/or links, etc. It gets so much easier. But it's really hard to do stuff for other people
