So. I finally got an idea for the fanfic! *Spoilers for the last books since it takes on from that* The Clans did not get destroyed in the Great Battle, but StarClan did. To the Dark Forest, that was enough to take over the Clans. A few moons later when a cat is born looking like Firestar, they think that StarClan has come back and Firestar was reincarnated, so they rely on him. However, that cat is no hero...

About the alternate StarClan thing mentioned earlier, I love the idea of a Valhalla-like StarClan. I have to say, that seems like a really fun concept to explore.

personally i really like the sharing tales concept! its hinted at that as long as the cat is remembered by the living they remain in starclan in wc canon i believe, but not really explored in depth. it would really emphasise the importance of things like sharing tongues and gatherings, where cats come together to share stories about what's happened to them and their clanmates. it would be another way of ensuring that cats who are naturally solitary talked to each other, which in turn would strengthen the bonds between clanmates and eventually strengthen the clan as a whole. religion is often linked to social necessity, after all!
