She nodded approvingly as Flare stepped forward. " I, Swiftstar, leader of StormClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down at Flare. We ran into him while hunting, and he has joined the clan and served us well so far I commend him to a warrior in your turn." she mewed, digging her long claws into the branch for support. " Flare, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?" she asked, expecting the tom to say I do.

His eyes opened as he could just faintly hear Swiftstar from his den. What's going on? he wondered as he came out of the den, yawning. When he realized he was missing a clan meeting, he limped towards the high branch as fast he could and sat down, hoping no one realized his lateness. Twistedfoot gazed up at his leader, blinking slowly.

He watched intently as Flare stepped forward. His sand colored ears perked up at the words, " He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code," No he hasn't... We don't even know him yet! he thought. Flare had only came to the clan the day before. He suddenly felt hostile towards the tom.
