What does their hoodie mean to them?:
He was getting too old for a blankie anyway,
they were totally justified in doing what they did, right?
13 year old Bain looked down at his favorite blanket,
torn into pieces. It was his baby blanket, white as
snow, and something he wasn't usually seen without.
He felt as if he was on the verge of tears, and then his
mother walked in. Guessing what had happened, she softly
talked to him.
A little later, he is still upset about the blanket, he kept the
pieces and now he's in his room. His mother comes in with
a bag. He opens it up and finds a green sweat shirt. After
saying thank you, he kinda pushes it away from himself
though his mother pulls out another bag. She insisted
upon making a hoodie for the shirt, showing him the
matching cloth. She explains to him about how they could
use his blanket in it, he perks up.
Later still, his mother is showing him how to use the sewing
machine, he listens but is stubborn about doing it himself.
A pattern is laying by him, it's for a dino hood.
After only a few mistakes, he finds out something.
This is his talent!
Striving to master it, he works harder with the hood,
adding some stuffing to keep the shape.
Now comes the part where he takes out his old beat up blanket.
He has cleaned it, and now begins to cut into smaller pieces.
Shaping them to the teeth, he smiles fondly as he sews them in.
A couple months later, his mother dies in a crash.
His hoodie was the last thing they made together.
His hoodie means the world to him.
