Birth Name: Wynne Taylor
Current Name: Amitola Wynne Jones

Pronunciation: am uh toll uh
Meaning: Amitola is a Native American male name that means "rainbow". This name comes from a legend that says that the first colorful picture was painted on the clouds by a young Indian chief named Amitola.
Reason: I honestly just thought it sounded super cute and fit her really well, plus after finding out the meaning I think it fits her colorful personality and her creative talents.

Nicknames: Ami, Tolli, Tolla

Pronunciations: aim e, toll e, toll uh

Why did she change her name?

She legally changed her name from Wynne Taylor to Amitola Wynne Jones after moving away from her family. She did so because she wanted a name that she thought represented what career path she chose. Her family still calls her Wynne, of course, and she is perfectly fine being called by either name. (I will stick to Amitola or her nicknames in the form to minimize confusion, but I wanted to make it clear that she's okay with being called either name.) She just wanted Amitola to be the name on her business cards because she thought it sounded more fitting for her profession; Ami thought that Wynne made her sound too shy and simple.

Hobbies: Creating comic books, drawing, singing, dancing

Amitola creates a lot of comic books because comics have always inspired her. She would love to make comics for a living as well as being either a tattoo artist or a special effects makeup artist, but she simply doesn't believe that she's got enough talent to make it into a profession. However, she has made several comic books in her spare time, and frequently lends them out to friends. She also just draws in general. Tolli isn't the best singer or dancer, but that's definitely not a deterrent to her. While she knows she's not the most talented at singing and dancing, she compensates by dancing and singing in a very goofy manner, as well as putting her heart into it. When she's alone (or at least thinks she is), Amitola's imaginative side often gets the best of her and she pretends she's somewhere else doing something else (probably on stage singing at a concert, etc). She can get bored easily, which is a large part of the reason she dances and sings as often as she does; when she gets bored she entertains herself by singing and/or dancing.

Explanation of her Favorites:

Amitola's favorite color was previously lime green, but as she got older she started to like colors that aren't neon. At some point her love of greens shifted to a love of blues. She is a vegetarian, and doesn't like meat. However, she loves to make her own veggie burgers and mix in packets of Hidden Valley Ranch powder. Ami is very coffee-dependent and frequently drinks it. She wasn't always addicted to coffee, but she quickly became addicted after working at Corner Cafe. Her favorite animal is a leopard seal because she just thinks they're super cute. Amitola frequently stays up on rainy nights just listening to the rain. She likes autumn because it's cool outside, and she gets to wear warm cozy scarves and sweaters. Obviously, Ami loves drawing and art in general, and her favorite artist is special effects makeup artist Patrick Tatopoulos because of his concept art and his skill with special effects. November is her favorite month because she loves Thanksgiving, and she just likes the name of the month, too. Tolli's favorite books are the Lord of the Rings book and the Hobbit because she loves fantasy and elves so much, plus she just loves the way everything fits together in the books. The first Hobbit movie is her favorite because she just enjoys it so much, especially all of the dwarves singing in the beginning. Her favorite continent is Antarctica because of how much is unknown about it. Her favorite country is Egypt because of their history; Amitola absolutely loves ancient Egyptian history, and history in general. Her favorite game is Uno because it's just so gosh darn fun to her.

Amitola is shy and quiet to a fault. She only speaks when she has to unless she is around her friends. Her friends are few in number because of her debilitating shyness, but Ami is insanely loyal to the few that she does have. It is very hard for her to get along with most people as they generally mistake her quietness for rudeness or a lack of interest. Many people don't notice her much if at all, and many people don't care to try to break through her shell. Sometimes she feels as though she's just part of the background, and Amitola only speaks to strangers because of her job. Tolli deeply wishes that she weren't as shy as she is. She has tried to get over it nothing seems to help. She remains optimistic that she will eventually be able to come out of her shell, though. It's at the point where she has actually been mistaken as a mute. Her shyness is mainly due to her mistrust of people, which has always been an issue for her.

Despite her shy and quiet tendencies, Amitola is insanely energetic and fun-loving. After she befriends someone, her true colors start to shine. She is a very happy-go-lucky individual, and she's very bubbly and talkative when she is comfortable around you. In fact, Ami gets pretty darn silly. She's a people-pleaser, especially if you're her friend, and she would go to the ends of the earth to make her friends happy. She is fiercely loyal to them and hates to see them upset in any way. Not only is Tolli very loyal and sympathetic towards her friends, but she's always there to listen and to give advice. Furthermore, Amitola is just a very sweet and genuine towards her friends, and they tend to find her quite amusing.

She loves to sing and dance, but she rarely does so unless she thinks that she's alone. Ami knows that her singing and dancing skills are far from good. To make up for it, she sings and dances with her whole heart, and she also does so in a very goofy manner. She absolutely loves accents, and has become quite the expert at both imitating and recognizing them. Her favorite accents are Scottish and Irish accents, but her favorite one to imitate is Russian. Many regular customers at Corner Cafe have spoken to her, as she will have small conversations with the regulars, and many of them adore her even though she's so quiet and shy. The regulars mostly know Amitola as a shy and clumsy, but very creative young girl, and many of them have borrowed her comic books to read. Some customers have even made a small fanclub about them.

Speaking of clumsy, let's talk a bit about Tolli's outrageous clumsiness. The girl could make a baby just learning how to walk look like a pro. She is constantly tripping over things, including her own feet, and sometimes she even trips over nothing at all. Her balance is terrible, and she can't stand on one foot for more than a second or two without falling. She is a waitress/barista at a coffee shop, and she is the cause for most of the accidents there. However, luckily, no one has been injured, and no permanent damage has been done to the cafe. Amitola has a tendency to turn around right into another person. She also tends to get very embarrassed after she spills something. In fact, she gets embarrassed quite easily, especially around strangers. She would really like to be a cook for the cafe, but no one seems to trust her with knives and stoves. It's probably a wise decision considering Tolli once forgot a stove was on and put her hand directly on the burner. She's also a very forgetful girl in general, and also has a tendency to be late for things.

Despite her seemingly ditzy qualities, Amitola is quite intelligent. She may not be the best at math or writing with correct grammar, but she is very good at conveying what she wants to through her stories and her artwork. Furthermore, she is a master at mood and tone. Even outside of the creative realm, Ami is considered intelligent. She knows many facts, and she knows almost all there is to know about ancient history. Amitola even tutors through a school-sponsored program on occasion. If nothing else, she can hold a conversation with you about most historical, as well as many scientific, things. She is very interested in learning, and this has lead to her love of books. Her favorite books are actually fantasy books, and she especially enjoys fantasies that involve elves, dwarves and/or magic. To Tolli reading a good fantasy book is like being transported into another universe, and it's so awe inspiring and amazing to her.

Even to those that don't know her well, Amitola exudes optimism. She can sometimes be found quietly offering words of hope and inspiration to customers that have bad days. She may not like to talk to strangers, but her overwhelming optimism takes over sometimes, and she just has to try to share some of that optimisim in an attempt to make someone feel a bit better. It's most common that she does this when a regular at Corner Cafe is blue, but she will occasionally do so for others. This is virtually the only time that her shyness can be overcome, and it is only able to happen because Tolli is very empathetic. She finds it very easy to put herself in other people's shoes, and she knows that if she were having a bad day it would make her feel better to hear optimistic words from someone. Her empathy for others is just a sign of her incredible warmth. She may be very shy and quiet, but Amitola exudes a sort of comforting warmth. Ami cares very much about others, including those she doesn't know, and she generally treats others with a great deal of respect. Part of Amitola's reason for being respectful, even to others that are rude, is that she realizes that she doesn't know what their situation is, and she doesn't want to make assumptions that they're always this way. For all she knows they could just be having a really bad week.

Even though most of these qualities are good, Ami does have some bad qualities as well. To begin, she is very impatient in nearly all situations. She dislikes any sort of waiting. She absolutely cannot stand it when someone asks her to do something and then makes her wait on them before she can do it. It's a pet peeve of hers to be asked for a favor and then to have to wait on the person she is suppposed to be doing the favor for. Tolli has troubles sitting still, and she prefers to be on the move constantly. She is very restless, and it is likely a large part of the reason she is so impatient. Another reason that Ami is so impatient is that she is easily bored. Amitola is also very messy. She is clumsy and tends to make messes, and she also just isn't good at organization. Her room looks like a hurrican hit. Her clean clothes are strewn across her dressers, and her dirty clothes are in a hamper. There are papers everywhere, as well as sketches and concept panels for her comic books.

Tolli is also insanely stubborn. Her opinions and viewpoints are not easily changed (though she won't try to force them down your throat). If she says that she doesn't want to do something and you tell her that she has to then she absolutely will refuse to do so. If you nag her too much about something she is also likely to refuse to do what you want her to. However, if you gently ask that she comes with you somewhere, then she will tell you that she doesn't want to go but will likey go anyways. This is something that only her acquaintances and friends know since she doesn't generally talk to others, but Amitola tends to be very blunt, often without realizing it. She doesn't like to sugar coat things, and she doesn't like to lie, especially if it gives her friends false hopes.

Although this may sound bad at first, Amitola is very simple. I don't mean simple as in dumb, inadequate in any way or easy to understand. What I mean is that she enjoys the simpler things in life. She loves living a normal life, and she loves doing the things that come with that. She enjoys going to small fairs, drinking coffee, laying about in her home, drawing and making comics for her own entertainment. Tolli also enjoys scarves, big sweaters and board/card games. Amitola just isn't a very materialistic girl, and will never need jewels or fancy things to be happy. In fact, she would be happier without fancy things.

The thing about Ami that tends to get over-looked is how much of a bad booty she is. Sure, she may be very quiet and shy, but she is insanely creative to the point of bada**dom. She wants to be a tattoo or special effects makeup artist and has the skills to back it up, which I personally find very bada**. Not only that, but she's also very independent, and can actually kick some butt in fights. Though she tends to avoid fights, she didn't always hesitate when her friends were being bullied or messed with, and she has kicked some booty in the past. Amitola would still be able to do so now if the situation arose, but so far such a thing hasn't happened.

Quirks:

Amitola has always been obsessed with lizards, ever since she was a little girl. She used to catch them and get them to bite down on her ears to pretend they were earrings. She also wants to get a bearded lizard as a pet, but she is currently unsure whether she would have enough money to ensure its health. It's interesting that she's in love with lizards because one of her closest friends, Orrick, is terrified of lizards and other small reptiles.

This fear sounds quite silly, and others often laugh at her for it. However, Ami is terribly terrified of butterflies. She used to love them, but she found some pictures of them up-close when she was still a child. The pictures freaked her out so much that she wants nothing whatsoever to do with the creepy things. Amitola won't go near caterpillars, either. She has been seen running away from butterflies during the spring.

{ Relationships }

Aisopos (friend):

Aisopos is a very charming and nice guy. Amitola enjoys listening to him, and she loves how friendly and kind he is. She really likes being around him, as he always seems to have a smile on his face. Although she doesn't know much about Aisopos, Ami is very fond of him. He has a personality that she wishes she were capable of, and she is somewhat inspired by him. He seems to always be able to make Ami smile. Aisopos is the inspiration for one of the characters in Amitola's comics. They also share a love of mythology and books.

Sunni (friend):

Sunni is a very cheery and optimistic girl, much like Amitola. However, she is a much more outgoing version of Tolli. Sunni is a bit bossy, and her sass is pretty apparent. Ami doesn't mind either, though, and just likes to be in her company. Sunni seems to cheer Amitola up effortlessly, and Amitola aspires to be as outgoing as she is one day.

Kade (acquaintance):

Amitola met Kade through Sunni. Even though she doesn't know him well at all, Ami likes him quite a bit. She finds his dumb jokes to be very amusing, and she loves that he is talkative. However, she doesn't see him often enough to be friends with him.

Orrick (close friend):

Orrick is a close friend of Ami's. He is very intelligent, and she loves to listen to him talk about archeology and science. He inspired one of her comic book characters, and it's always lovely to talk to him about ancient civilizations, particularly Egyptians. They're both shy, but Orrick tries to be more outgoing in order to get her to be more outgoing as well. He tends to reminder her about most things. Amitola misses him quite a bit whenever he goes on archaeological digs.

Lisian (close friend):

Lisian is very sweet and although he's quiet, he's also confident. This is something that Amitola is hoping to achieve soon, as it's a very nice quality. He's quite a bit younger than her, and they originally met at a store while he was shopping for knitting supplies. She became his history tutor, and that's how they became close. He has made her quite a few sweaters, which she loves to pieces. Ami tries to buy him plants whenever she can, as she knows Lisian loves plants. They share a love for both knitting and plants, but Amitola can never manage to keep plants alive. Ami considers him a little brother, and she is very fond of him. He inspired one of her comic book characters.

{ Inside Her Mind }

This is all about the comics that she makes! Please note these will get better and be finished, especially some of the character names and moves (and some of the mottos), but I'm kinda crunched for time. I'm actually really into this comic idea so I will make it a legit comic if I win. o u o <3

I wanted to make this section about the comics because they're a big part of her life, and it's also a big insight into her mind. I feel like it shows off a lot of the creativity that she has.

Why she makes comics/How it started:

Amitola makes comic books in her spare time for a few different reasons. The first reason is that she simply enjoys making them, and they entertain her both while she's making them and while she's reading them. As a child, Ami was not social; she had comic books instead of friends, and she often wished she were in one of her comics. They provided a needed escape from stress as she got older, and they always inspired her own art. She began attempting her own comics in her early teens. However, she wasn't the best artist at that age, and she couldn't come up with any ideas that she felt pleased with. In her late teens, Amitola became super interested in ancient civilizations, particularly ancient Egypt. This gave her the idea for her superhero team, and inspired their designs and powers.

How she makes them:

She jotted down a few overall arcs to include throughout the comic when she first began creating Legends of Arlir. With those in mind, she starts out jotting down ideas for an issue. Then she sketches out the pages on scratch paper, sketching each page with many versions. She puts them in labeled binders and sheet protectors to flip through easily. She then decides which versions she likes best and draws it several times the same way, just to get the hang of what she wants. Then she hand draws the pages onto self-made comic book and inks and colors them. She uses india ink to line her comics.

What inspires her:

She is highly inspired by ancient civilizations and their art. Aside from that she is also heavily inspired by special effects makeup and tattoos.

Fanbase:

Amitola has a tumblr where she displays pages of her comic book. She also lends/sells copies out to friends, who lend/sell them out to their friends. A small group of teenage boys has formed a fanclub that meets at the Corner Cafe twice every other week. Her fanbase is small, but very dedicated.

Universe: Arlir (are leer)
Comic Names: Legends of Arlir and Arlir: Everlasting Damnation.

Arlir: Everlasting Damnation is a spin-off of Legends of Arlir specifically about the villains from Arlir. Some issues are the same battles/issues that are in Legends of Arlir, but you get more about the villians and their viewpoint. Both comics have superheros and villains based on ancient civilizations and gods. In this universe, they are actually gods of those civilizations. So they're like gods that go around trying to enslave mankind and take over the universe and things like that, plus the gods that try to stop that. However, they only use their true names as their superhero names. They pretend to be humans when not fighting/causing crime and have human names. In this universe, there isn't a lot of mankind left because the villains were wiping them out, which is why the Immortals formed.

Legends of Arlir

Amitola based Aura on the goddess Ninlil, which is the Sumerian goddess of air. Ami based her superhero name on the fact that aura is a synonym for air. She gave her the first name of her human name based on the name of the goddess Ninlil.

Tasis has very tan skin with turquoise Egyptian hieroglyph tattoos on her right cheek, left shoulder/arm, left hip, and right leg. He hair is half white and half black, wavy and braided. She wears a head piece made of golden chains with turquoise jewels dangling down. Her mask is white trimmed with gold at the bottom. She typically wears no shoes.

Tasis' top is white with a turquoise jewel between her breasts and a gold lining on the bust. It has two cut outs on the sides and near the bottom are gold Egyptian hieroglyphs. The top is connected to a turquoise jewel and gold chains that go on top of her bottom. Her bottom is a gold mini skirt with a long, sheer white cover with a slit. The bottom of the cover has gold Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Based on:

Tasis is based on two Egyptian gods: Ptah, the god of creation, and Isis, the goddess of magic. Amitola based her powers on the things that these two are gods of. Ami also based Tasis on herself. Tasis is what Amitola aspires to be, and also Amitola loves ancient Egypt, so. Tasis is a combo of the name of the gods she's based on.

She named him Tao based on Taoism the fact that some people believe that all Chinese religions (including Taoism) is based on the teachings of Fuxi. His human name means, "looks like a dragon."

His human name was based on the fact that "Paul" sounds sorta like "Apollo," and one of Apollo's symbols is the wolf. (Not explaining the name bc it'll probably be changed bc OTL.)
