Sheeppaw lay sleeping in his den, snoring softly, when a sound awoke him. He groggily crawled out of his nest and went outside the den, looking around. Nothing. He turned to go back into the den when something brushed his flank. "Hey!" he said, turning, but nobody was there. Fear began to absorb him as he looked wildly around him, trying to spot what was there.
"Boo."
Claws lashed out at him, scratching his cheek. Whimpering, Sheeppaw tried to fight back, but he was training to be a medicine cat, and even if he knew how to fight he had never had any desire to. The fight was hopeless. Finding himself pinned to the dirt, Sheeppaw nipped the cat's paw, releasing a hiss from them. "Oh, now you die worse." It was then that Sheeppaw noticed the small pile of deathberries sitting near the cat's tail. "I hadn't planned to use these, but how fitting would it be for a cat of herbs to be killed by one?" Plucking one from the pile, the cat shoved it down his throat, causing him to die almost instantly, although certainly not painlessly. The killer scattered the rest of the deathberries with their paw and smeared the juice on Sheeppaw's paws, then rinsed their own paws of the purple juice and headed off to sleep.
Dawnwhisker, having been awakened by the scuffle, crept outside, claws out. When she saw Sheeppaw's body, she looked at the deathberries and then decided she would rather join her friend in StarClan than live out her days in ThunderClan, so she ate one of her own and died beside him.

Gingerstorm | Warrior
Gingerstorm woke up, hearing a scuffle and some hisses. She thought nothing of it until, when passing the medicine cat's den to get some food, she saw Sheep-paw and Dawnwhisker lying by some deathberries. Sheep-paw's paws were stained with the deadly berries' juice. But he wouldn't kill himself, thought the ginger cat. Someone else must have. "Murder! Sheep-paw and Dawnwhisker are dead," she called.

Raineyes turned over sleepily, a few feathers sticking to the back of her pale gray pelt. It was just past dawn, judging by the light filtering into the nursery, and the night's chill still nipping the air. Her blue eyes blinked slowly as a strange scent reached the roof of her mouth. Some kind of berry, one that smelled entirely too sweet. Its scent was sharp enough that she guessed the berries had been broken open for some reason. Perhaps Amberkit or one of the apprentices had been playing in one of the bushes surrounding the camp? She didn't know if any of them had berries on them, but the scent was worth checking out, if only to be safe.
Laboriously hauling herself to her paws, Raineyes pushed her way past the brambles surrounding the nursery, only to stop dead. Sheeppaw lay prone on the group, deathberries staining his jaws and front paws, and Dawnwhisker lay not far away, the same purple juices staining her fur. Horrfied, Raineyes backed into the nursery, urgently rousing her fellow queens. "Shadespots, Mossfire, wake up, quickly!" She kept her voice pitched low enough as not to wake Amberkit; she didn't want the young kit to see.

He limbered out, yawning and then mewing "Whats happening here, I heard "Murder."" He soon went to check it out, his eyes trying to focus from his sleep, in the soft elder's den. After he found the two cats, he was shocked, then he flattened his ears."Someone did this, who ever you are i'll tear you apart!" he growled.

As the sun streaked through the warrior's den, Smudgecloud blinked open her eyes. She rolled over drearily and watched Gingerstorm exit the den. Hoping to get back to sleep, she closed her eyes and relaxed, but no sooner than a few seconds later, she heard a terrified call from Gingerstorm. The word murder was enough for her to leap to her feet and rush outside. She stopped beside Gingerpelt. The horrifying sight of two bodies lay in front of them. A horrified look appeared on her face, who would kill two lovely warriors? Both of them had been quite good friends to Smudgecloud and she let out a mournful yowl
