yes nero does sometimes hear voices and hallucinate if he's alone for too long. part of the reason why he bugs fritz so much.
he's not afraid of being alone, he just honestly doesn't like it.
i mean after all he did spend 30 years able to do literally nothing but stare at the same patch of wall and think. that would feel like thousands of years to any normal person, but when you have a computer in your head and you think who-knows-how-much-faster than other people, it feels like several eternities.
he was more or less insane when they first found the springtrap suit.
that would make anyone seriously dislike being alone.
it's also part of the reason why he can almost never stay still for very long, dislikes it when it's too quiet, and will probably stab you if you touch him.
he absolutely loathes feeling like he's being trapped, held back, or restrained in any way shape or form.
