From the event discussion thread:

To begin, click on the "Explore" tab at the top of the page in the red bar. This will take you to a world map that is fairly bare and unexplored, save for a few locations. Towards the middle of the continent you will see a small location icon with the symbol of a Rune Drake holding a shield. Hovering over this will give you a quick description of the place you are about to enter. Be sure to click and explore the area, visit with your familiar crow friend, Muzu, to help collect tokens, and also get to know one of the Watch Crow members, Sorren, that you've heard so much about from Captain Willy prior.

The event tokens can be found by clicking on Muzu the crow who is hanging about outside and can also be seen with Sorren on his master's shoulder when in the Aviary homestead. You will be able to claim a token or special pet once every 15 minutes. Each day Sorren will have a new creature available in exchange for a few feathers and some new dialog about past events and current happenings. So be sure to read and enjoy all he has to say about both you and the land around you in a new interactive experience!

If you haven't yet, you need to go through all the introductory dialogue. It starts at the bottom of the Alabaster City page where you need to click 'Next'. When you reach the end of the dialogue, you can start collecting. :)

if this is your first event it is also helpfull to read the text from previes events to understand the situation better

Ahh I've collected over 50 feathers but I'm still missing 9 pets >~>
I'm trying to collect all guardian dire wolves.They're so pretty! :3...but I still need Doberman,German Shepherd and Shi tzu (?)

iam missing 4 that i want, becuse i ither cant get the feathers or keep geting doubles, 12 overall,but i dont want the sephers so yer, ive found 91 feathers.
