Within the ruins (closed, new thread)

(I apologize for my delayed responses but finals are coming up and all my teachers are loading me with homework. >.>
Flood won, so we're doing that now. Any people that quit, or just never post again, their dogs will die in the flood to make things simpler. )

Kiba made his way up the stairs, stopping at each landing to glance around though continued up as he followed their scent. Once he reached where the two had made there home, he paused and glanced around. After a few moments he began to walk around, though touched nothing, leaving everything in its place though there wasn't much. Letting out a small sigh, he made his way over to one of the large windows and sat down. While simply thinking over the events that took place the day, his eyes wandered over the destroyed town. After a few minutes his gaze landed on the large dam on the outskirts of town, looming over the other structures. His eyes suddenly widened as he noticed a large crack runnng right through the middle of it. Even at this moment it was spreading, smaller lines branching off from the main one. Water was already streaming out from it, but there was no way of knowing how long it would be until it broke completely.

Cyris stayed silent for a few moment as the other dog spoke. Although she seemed to be no threat, the fae had no way of really knowing so she kept her distance. The two stood around the same height though the greyhound was slimmer due to her breed, which put her at a disadvantage. "Hello," she spoke back simply in reply. She glanced down at the other fae's catch before behind her, wondering if she was alone or with others.

"You are?" Faith asked trying to be polite but ever so cautious.

Arizona stiffened; her instincts were telling her something was wrong. Very wrong. The birds that used to chirp in the city were deadly silent now, and the faint rushing of mass amounts of water could be heard from a short distance away. The husky leapt to her feet and grabbed the kid firmly by the collar of his shirt. She dragged him as she frantically searched for an elevated place, for herself and for the boy. She was terrified of drowning, and she was sure the kid couldn't swim. Her icy eyes focused on the stair case at the side of the warehouse building. She figured it led to the rooftop, so she made a run for it. Arizona pulled herself up and set the kid on the sixth step so that he wasn't too close to the rushing water that was coming at a very fast rate. Before she knew it, a massive flood of water grabbed her with its cold claws and dragged her to her watery doom.

Belle;;fallows Kiba

Kiba sat frozen for a few moments, cursing himself for not thinking about this issue in the first place. Of course it would break sooner or later; the structure had no humans to take care of it. Quickly hopping to his feet, he ran back to the staircase, passing Belle on the way though didn't bother to stop. "Dam's breaking!" he spoke sharply, racing down the stairs faster than he ever had before. Loosing his balance on the last flight, he tumbled and fell, painfully landing on his side in various places as he flipped over, but as soon as he was to the bottom he lunged back to his paws. No time to asses the damage. Once he was outside he lifted his head to let out a loud howl of distress. It couldn't say much, but to any dog hearing it, it would be obvious something was wrong. Kiba numbly noticed as he was running back to the others that the ground was already wet, but the cement wall hadn't broken completely. The closest pack members were Arizona and Elias, so that's where he went. However, as soon as he opened his mouth to bark out a warning, the sound of crashing waves were audible. Just after turning his head, an immense amount of water came crashing down on him, sending him under.

"Cyris," The greyhound replied simply, sitting down though her eyes never left the other dog. From the scent of her, Cyris assumed she was part of some pack. She was about to ask the fae's name in return when something caught her attention. As she heard the distinct sound of running water, her ears perked. "What's that?" she questioned, to nobody in particular.

Arizona let out a sharp cry as the water violently pulled her under. She flailed wildly, fighting to keep herself up but it was no use. A flood of water crashed into her face, which pushed her under once more. A large amount of water flowed into her mouth when she instinctively gasped for air, and it flowed into her lungs. Arizona paddled as hard as she could, coughing and sputtering as she tried to rid herself of the water in her lungs. Unfortunately, the need for air was beginning to be drastic. No matter how hard she tried the water wouldn't come out. Her muscles grew tired due to the fact that she fought too hard in the beginning. Eventually she stopped, and gave way to a dizzying blackness as she let the water carry her and take her under.

Faith sensed that Cyris was not looking to harm her, not even for the ducks. She turned her head to the noise. "We should probably go check that out..." she said to the dog she just met.
