Ok.. I updated to Java 8 Update 45 and that is when all Hell broke lose. Chrome, after that, gave me a grey screen saying "This Plug-in is not supported" So, I attempted to do that fixup by enabling Npapi which then caused it to Crash my entire Google Chrome and Java. I Then attempted switching to The V2 of the Oekaki and that only caused it to give me the Red letters saying I have no Java. When I then Enabled Npapi again to see if it worked, and it again crashed everything.

After that I moved to Internet Explorer, my father's suggestion, and though It was supported all I got was a White screen. I even used a special program to remove ALL Java programs from my computer before downloading the newest version and it still wouldn't work.

SO I tried Firefox and it seemed to work at first, I allowed Java to run, and it froze my FireFox. I attempted to restart the browser and when I tried to open the oekaki again it crashed FireFox.

I am using Windows 7 and this is just really frustrating because there is so much I used the Oekaki for, especially artist searches and stuff and I even wanted to open a species. I've been trying to fix this for two days now, it is really upsetting me. I don't know why Java, Google, and all kinds of programs have to make things so difficult. Google Chrome is my best Browser, but hardly anything I did works on it now because they had to throw their little fit and remove Java support. I can't even get the Temp Fix to work. Ughh... I just really need help.. not even my mother that went to collage for these things can figure this out.

Since updating to the most recent java version I have had no pen pressure on browsers, any at all. Initially I had an error with accessing oekaki on chrome but that seems to have gone away as I can use it freely now, but it's simply infuriating not being able to have pen pressure.

My driver is up to date, and I already had JTablet so I have no idea what to do, and I was hoping I could get help?

My java suddenly stopped working, its been fine before and i had installed java months ago as it was not installed and i wanted to use oekaki. It is now saying it isnt installed?.. i was using it in the weekend.. But unlike everybody elses, i havent updated my java?!?

Okay so it seems the new java is a spawn of the devil.
The same exact thing happened to me, but I removed all the older
versions as it told me that keeping them is dangerous and can cause viruses.

When I try to install Java it says this
but thats the kind of java I need ;-;

so i got the oekaki to work again! to anyone on a mac whos been having issues, heres what i did in safari (i cant post pics of what i did right now so if anything is unclear ask and i can clarify) (also i should probably mention that i downgraded to java 7):

• click on "safari" in the menu bar and go to preferences
• go to the security tab and click "manage website settings" next to the "internet plug ins" option
• in the resulting window, find java on the list on the left
• near the bottom of the window is "when visiting other websites: (settings menu)." click it and select "always allow"
• also, after i did this i cleared my cache, which may have helped as well (though in the past it had no effect)

this fixed the issue of the oekaki freezing whenever the jtablet popup showed up and the oekaki just not loading at all, but theres still no pen pressure (which isnt a big deal to me) and the oekaki still lags horribly when the canvas is rotated to portrait. also, ive found that the oekaki doesnt run as well if i have too many programs open at once, so if anyone is having lag issues then try closing out of everything but your browser.

My oekaki keeps getting stuck on the 'Starting...' loading screen.
I've just changed my browers due to having Java related issues; redownloaded java, downloaded and updated Adobe Flash Player and now this problem.
I've cleared my cache and spent seven hours this morning cleaning my laptop with my antivirus.


- I'm about to throw my laptop out the window. Never had this problem until Google decided to invonvience everyone by parting ways with Java. :/

When I draw landscape, the thing runs smoothly but when I go portrait it lags soooooooo much when I try to draw a single line. Does sanybody know how to srt this? I use firefox on my mac since safari doesn't work with the oekaki.

i have this same issue, also on a mac

I guess t's just a mac thing. We might just have to deal with it
