I'm not sure if this goes with our conversation or not, but... yes, regarding the spirituality question. Which leads me to...

I'm not sure of Ki is totally a daemon. I mean, his animal fits and he is very similar to me personality wise. But he isn't just a an imaginary friend. He feels like something more... he often gives me advice, he's like my mentor of sorts throughout life. Honestly, I feel like he's my guardian angel in animal form. Does this make sense? Probably not, but... I just wanted to ask and see if nanyonr else knows what to make of this and if they feel similar in any way. In short, I don feel like he's just a daemon. We seem to share souls, and are seperate beings but still one and the same.

I'm a Christian with some abstract views on my religion - I've almost created my own of sorts, with Christianity at the center and others pieced around it. This probably has something to do with it... but hm. Any thoughts? Is he a daemon at all I wonder...

Edit: Just read Solar's post, and I agree with it in many ways and have similar spiritual views... but not quite he same... if you read my post. Ki has also made himself known in my meditation sessions, hanging out with me or teaching me something with his wise demeanor.

Thank you Hogosha! How you feel with Kalerian feels a lot like how I feel with Ki. I apologize if I don't have much to say, but... thank you for your advice! I think you're right - every daemon and daemian is different. I think he is a daemon, although... it's kinda strange. I'm not sure... I mean, for now I'm kinda gonna use it as a blanket term, although... honestly, he's developing his own personality. He almost seems like he's borderline tulpa, daemon, spirit, and guardian angel... all at once.

I know this is something I'm going to have to figure out myself and along my journey, but for now... I suppose I will just have to see what happens. ;w;

I'm glad they don't have to just be bound to your personality though - I think that's where I was going wrong. Ah, I'm glad that they don't have to... I see now. OK! I needed to be opened up to that. I feel like Ki is going to be here for a very long time, if not forever. And I'm so happy for that! He is turning into his own being, and although while connected to me... he's a great friend.

I really enjoyed your post, Hogosha. I definitely agree that the definition of a dæmon can be flexible. I get really excited when I see people are on the same page as me as in they deeply value their dæmons and see them to be companions. I really have my eyes peeled for references to dæmonic ideas in culture such as "guardian angels" or "consciences" or "that voice that tells you what's right." I think a lot of people who have dæmons channel these sort of things through their dæ.

Also, I'm reading I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson and there are a lot of interesting dæmon-like sort of moments where the protagonist(s) compare a character to their spirit animal, sort of. There's also a lot of moments when the character is like "I thought this person struck me as [form] but actually they reminded me of [form]." Anyways, it caught my attention a bit and made me think of the form-finding side of dæmonism...

Am I the only one who kind of wants wei, hei, and shei back in style as pronouns? Because personally I think it's pretty effective at expressing the "my dæmon is me" concept. It gives a little flare to dæmons that other characters or entities don't have. Although I do understand it might seem unnecessary, I kind of like it. Anyone feel the same?

Well, I finished going through the analyzes on TDF, and I now have a long list of possible forms. The hard part will be narrowing them down.

It's just a pronoun dæmians used to use when talking about their dæmons, but from what I read on TDF, it's not really embraced as part of the "official" lexicon now.

Ex.

I have a friend, and he really likes to be talkative. We spend hours chatting.

I have a dæmon, and hei really likes to be talkative. Wei spend hours chatting.

Some people dislike it because it's unneeded/ridiculous but I still think its an interesting enough idea. You're basically smashing the pronoun he/she/we with I. Of course, I'm an English person so this is probably more interesting to me than it would be to most, haha.

I like the hei/shei/theyi/wei pronouns, but I probably won't use them myself unless for clarification. Talking about daemons can get confusing at times ^^'
