Clara //
She finished off her coffee, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. As she did so, she froze, realizing that the light grey patch in the centre of her palm, from the bit of rain she'd created earlier, was visible to Matthew. Clara quickly shoved her hand under the table, hoping he hadn't noticed.
Theo //
"I can't take this," he mumbled to himself. Theo stood up, tossing the book on a nearby table, and stretched. He pulled out his phone and dialled a long distance number, not caring about the eight-hour time difference. A sleepy voice picked up on the other end. "Good god, Theo, it's four in the morning," a boy's voice said.
Theo almost let out a groan of relief. "Chad," he said quietly. "Sorry. I know it's a bad time. Literally. I just really miss you – er, all of you.”
Chad let out a long breath. “Call me later, okay? I need my beauty sleep.”
“Alright, fine. Tell Bronwyn hi for me, yeah?”
“Kay, bye, Theo.” The phone clicked off, disconnecting Chad’s voice, husky with sleep. Theo stared at his cell phone for a long moment, then sank back down into the chair.
