She left the class and walked into the courtyard. Ditching class was normal, as long as she got good grades. She walked to the cafe and went inside to order a latte.

"I'll take your word for it, Clara." He said, stepping through the door that Clara was holding open. "I'm not too hungry, so I'll probably just stick with my usual coffee."

Clara //
She shrugged. "Fine by me." Clara brushed her hair behind her ears and quietly ordered a coffee and a blueberry muffin, as per usual. She stepped back, waiting for Matthew to order. "I'll find a table," said Clara, slightly nervous, and she walked over to an empty table near the window.

Matthew nodded slowly. As Clara walked away to find a table, Matthew ordered his usual espresso. After a few moments of waiting, Matthew turned around to follow Clara.

She sat down and quietly sipped her coffee. Clara glanced up at Matthew, not sure what to say.

Matthew sat down silently, his eyes still fixed on Clara. "So is this the part where we sit in the most awkward silence ever?"

Clara //
"Yep, pretty much." Clara laughed slightly. "Do we have anything in common? What books do you read? What music do you like?"

( help I'm writing my new character and I'm wondering whether he should be gay or not because i've never rp'd a character that isn't straight but I don't want to screw up and offend anyone ugh i am so bad at life ))

"I read H.P. Lovecraft. Horror books. Harry Potter. I once read the Sabriel series. Fantasy, mostly. I listen to nothing but classical music because I'm boring. It's mostly Nutcracker music. That's well-composed." Matthew said.

She broke into a grin when he mentioned Harry Potter. "I know that like, everyone's read Harry Potter, but I have to say that I'm a huge Potterhead," she confessed. "And as for music, well, I mostly listen to rock, but classical's cool too." Clara felt herself warming up to Matthew; her protective shell slowly crumbling.
