Not that the Penitus Oculotus interrogated their prisoners any differently than any other organization did, but maybe August could scare Za'ji a bit.

"I suppose I would have had to have been," Za'ji said, speaking as though she only had a passing interest in the conversation. She knew that one wrong move could out her for good, but she had been fine so far. "I mean, who else would interrogate me? The Jarls, the guards, even the Empire take no more than a passing interest in the brotherhood. You lot are the only ones who seem to care about eradicating them."

Faulonor couldn't help himself. He smiled and chuckled. After quickly gathering a few of the larger pieces of glass- and his posture, he elf stood to face the man again. "I clean up because I live here." He said. Quickly feeling self-conscious himself, Faulonor used his free hand to check if his hood was place. The last thing he needed was some nobody seeing him, and telling people.

"Thanks," Kanji said, making another small adjustment to her shield. "I made them myself. Same stopping power as a dwarven shield and sword, but at a fraction of the weight. And the convenience factor is naturally off the scale." Satisfied that the stranger was close enough, she reached up with her sword hand and searched for the stranger's face, hoping to get some idea of what she looked like.

"Well, I can't see your face," Kanji explained, "So I need to touch it to figure out what you look like." She was mildly surprised when her questing fingers brushed up against the sharp angular features of an elf. She hadn't met many elves before, she was mildly intrigued by them. "Say, you aren't with the the Thalmor, are you?" she asked nervously. she'd had run-ins with them in the past, and they weren't exactly on the best of terms.

Duviyn Varo let out a 'Harumph,' at the man's answer,
but didn't think too poorly of him. After all, he could under-
stand a locals pride for their land, it was understandable th-
at the man would want to keep his resident city clean. In
fact, Duviyn found it respectable and wondered if he had
been a bit prejudiced before. "Duviyn Varo," he introduced
himself suddenly. The man seemed generally good natured
to him, and judging from the fact that he hadn't picked
Duviyn's pockets or robbed his shop the night before stood
by that assumption.

Synette Greensmith blinked, studying the two almost. The
two civilized folk were hypotic with their once familiar ways
and their talk was like something to marvel about. Neither
were too familiar with others from what the Breton could tell
but the again, she hadn't been the most open either. Her face
held the expression of a scientist discovering a new life form,
or perhaps a child marveling over a new toy. However, when
Falreath was once again mentioned, it changed a bit to one
of nervousness. Anything that had anything remotely to do with
Pine Forest or the hold where she had hidden her home always
brought a tick of nervousness no matter how insignificant the
