Ash shook his head, thinking about his father, trying to find a way to describe his dad without digging into his...interesting... past.
"Well, hes kind of hard to describe. I guess you could call him uptight... A tad demanding, but we don't actually talk all that much anymore. He's started going out with his friends and not coming back until late at night... Do you live with both of your parents?" Ash asked, he could barely remember his mom, She had left his dad to deal with 'That mangy thing he called a son' as she called him when Ash had been about 13.

..."Oh... You ever see your dad?" by the sound of it, it sounded like her parents had simply got a fighting divorce, unlike his parents. They were almost to the edge of the forest.
