The truth/who he is:
Who is Edmund? Well his story isn't exactly a pleasant one. Edmund was once a prince, kind and just, but his father was not. His father ruled the land they called home as a tyrant, unjustly prosecuting others for "crimes" such as sneezing on his birthday. Edmund grew tired of his fathers reign and tried to over throw him, he was successful, only obtaining his ear injury. Though, his mother was very unhappy with him for what he had done and she banished him from their kingdom, never to return. So now Edmund wonders around, homeless, with great hate towards his past. As his hate grew, so did an ability to not care or show remorse.

the truth/who she is:
a sorceress, an ex-prince, now a transgirl who faced expectations she didn't want to meet. she didn't want to be the one born with power in her right hand, she didn't want to be the charming prince to lead her kingdom. she never felt like she was born in the right body either. she never felt like a prince, so one night she left her kingdom in order to try and lead a new life. fled her society, her save haven, away until she only skirted the borders of the kingdom she was once destined to rule.

now she remains in her pursue for a safer paradise, her identity and name changed. no longer was there a 'prince hermes,' there was only hecate now, a young sorceress in training who strives to no longer be haunted by her past, hoping to one day escape it.

back when hecate was a prince, she had what she could
ask for, she had riches, she had a secure lifestyle.
except, of course, there were always the looming
expectations she was going to have to face. her
father always told her she'd follow in his footsteps
when she grew older. nearing the day she would be
given the throne, she gave up and fled, dagger
clenched in one hand and a book of spells in another.
a book she'd been given when she was young. her
cloak tied around her shoulders fashioned into a
hood to hide her face on that dreadful night of the
escape.

hecate now lives in a makeshift cottage at the edge of her
old kingdom, and is already mapping her surroundings in
an attempt to escape. she knows that if she can collect
enough gems, she could purchase a one-way trip on a
ferry that would take her far from where she was born.
so here she remains, casting spells, practicing her
magic in an attempt to collect all the gems she would
need. she doesn't have many friends because of this,
but she has once in a while bumped into another
wolf who goes by the name of cendra. they don't
really get into her way, but they seem to share
their goal, to escape via ferry.

"tch. sucks, trying to get this done and over with," growled hecate. her voice, deep and gravelly as it was, still retained emotion. and it definitely wasn't your lighthearted daily chatter, as she lifted the hood off her face, revealing her nicked ear. cendra stood not too far away, their eyes darting side to side as they watched. this was the first time they would witness hecate's spells. typically, they left the business to her, but they'd sadly enough broken an entire leg and were only able to move on crutches. they could interpret hecate's exasperated words as nothing more than her frustration after having found him with a crack in his right leg, although cendra knew it could as well refer to both their situations. and to be honest, she was right. it sucked. "look, i'm sorry," they grumbled, struggling with their makeshift crutches, their left leg beginning to feel a bit pressured while the right one, wrapped in bandages, was just... hanging in there, bud.

hecate rolled her eyes at them and looked at her book of spells. surely there was something here to help them heal quicker. she rapidly sifted through her pages in an attempt to find the correct one. then again, despite having been with the book for a considerable amount of time, she'd never really explored it. most of the spells she used were limited to minimal healing, a few blessings and so on. she wasn't gaining gems quickly either, since she didn't exactly come off as welcoming with her cloak always hiding her face. the only one she would willingly show her face to was cendra, since they'd oddly enough never committed to the kingdom enough to hear tell of prince hermes, her old identity. she hadn't revealed anything to them yet.

"you could have just sprained yourself. breaking an entire leg, was that even necessary?" she muttered, as soon as she found the correct spell. it would take some energy to perform, but she knew she was sufficient. she watched as cendra lumbered over, and after a while hecate helped them into position on her bed. it wasn't even a bed really, just a wooden board supported by small crates and hay bedding. hay wasn't even soft. but it was enough for cendra as they lay on their back for her to examine his leg. casting a spell wasn't exactly pleasant. either way, she clenched her teeth and began to sing. the book, with its runes engraved on its pages with brown ink, wasn't the easiest to learn to read, but she managed. it wasn't a language most understood, but as she sang note after note she began to reshape cendra's leg, slowly healing it. it was going to take a while, but upon hearing them sigh in content, she knew she would do okay.

oh where to start... your form was well written, the tale of Clarence vibrato was well written and kept me on edge. I can tell you put a lot of thought into the story itself, and that really sealed the deal for me <3 so congrats
