non-owner

hello. i'm flurry, and i don't really mind what you call me. anything's fine. i currently own zero kiamaras, but have been in love with the species since i joined cs. so when i saw they'd moved to deviant art, and there would be virtually no more free competitions, i felt like there was no way i'd ever fulfill my dream of owning a kiamara. but then, i logged online today, and saw an eye-catching title on the front page; the title of this competition. my heart skipped a beat, and i felt like singing- i finally had another chance to win a gorgeous kiamara. i was even more enlightened when i realized one of the beautiful babies was up for adoption. these precious kiamaras deserve lovely homes. and i feel like i can give the girl one.

as we roll down this unfamiliar road

name

first name: raiko. middle name: pocky-rae.
[ray-ko] [poh-kee]-[r-ay]

she was given her first name, as her parents were simply stumped! they couldn't muster a single name that they thought would capture this girl's personality, or looks. her name, raiko, means 'second child'. it's quite clear they'd given up when it came to the second of their two twins' names. her middle name, pocky-rae, was given for two reasons: pocky for the father that she seemed to stick to like glue, and rae for her bright and clever personality. they were origionally going to name her rae, but they eventually settled on simply adding that to her middle name. raiko likes her name, and has no feelings towards it, for the most part. she doesn't feel like her parents name choice designates her as unoved: she feels that it makes her personality speak more than her title. nobody cares much for such a simple name, so they focus more on her. and this way, she doesn't feel like she has to base her personality on the meaning of her name.

gender

raiko is a female. she feels completely comfortable with her gender, and although she is bi, and dislikes nobody merely based on their gender, she has a preference for males. she is a very independent and clever kiamara, and doesn't think she wants a female mate that she'll have to wait on. she'd rather have an equally as intelligent kiamara, who wouldn't treat her as a goddess or queen, but merely as a friend that they love more than any other.

thoughts

when asked the question of 'imagination or reality?', raiko would immediately answer reality, without batting an eyelash. she grew up idolizing her father pocky, and adores his intelligent, realistic demeanor. you'd think a young child such as raiko would enjoy a father like khajiit, a mischevious, fun-loving kiamarea, and she does. but she'd rather sit in the library with pocky, than run around outside with khajiit. raiko's slightly flat personality leaves many to think her a dry, and emotionless kiamara. but if they could simply peek inside her mind, they'd see more. just because she believes in the limits of possibility doesn't take away her quiet hope that the impossible could happen. but she always shoves that thought into the back of her mind, as she'd rather not be hurt every time something fails to happen.

personality

raiko is a rather independent kiamara. she doesn't like others stealing her work or answers, and loves quiet. she's not one for emotions, or coddling, and would rather sit by herself, on a laptop, than converse or cuddle with her fathers. this independent nature of hers can make some people think of her as grumpy, but she usually just prefers to be unsocial, and enjoy some peace and quiet by herself. raiko can be quite ingenious as well: she's known for coming up with solutions to tricky problems that nobody else could solve. other kiamaras might come to her for help, but she usually gives a tiny whisp of help, and then sends them on their way. she would ignore them all together, but her fathers want her to seem more social, and like less of a grump. she's very curious, and cannot work on homework until she absolutely understands every involved concept completely. she's a very particular kiamara, and won't take vague answers. this can make her seem pester-y, but she really just wants the best information. raiko can be extremely stubborn at times. if she doesn't get all the information she wants, or people continuously try to cheat of of her, she'll vigorously continue to say no. she's extremely clever for her age. raiko's intelligent mind lands her good marks in school, and her long attention span proves her to be an excellent scholar. her exterior seems rather dry at first. she seems quite emotionless, and it takes a lot of coaxing to get her to talk to you.
