He jumped to action as he saw Gingerkit running around the camp, searching for Wonderpelt, ''Gingerkit! Calm down!'' He jumped off the high rock and tried to calm the anxious kit.

''Whats happening? Should I get Leafstar to come back?!'' She mewed worridly, curling her tail around Gingerkit.

sootclaw flicked his tail, running it over his leader's flank
"rest." he purred, with an amused tone
"ill hunt for you all."
with a nod of his head he quickly slipped away, instantly swallowed by the forest shadows; only once he was many foxlengths away did he stop to scent the air. the undergrowth was alive with prey, the warm mouthwatering scents met his nose. it wasnt very hard to slam his paws down on a mouse; it had nearly scrambled under them! he quickly buried his catch before moving on. the sounds of rodents digging in the undergrowth for seeds were far too tempting. he quickly caught several more mice. enough to feed everyone! he decided, before collecting all his kills and hurrying back to where the other cats on patrol were resting. he dropped them in front of the cats and sat down, giving his muzzle a satisfied lick.
