~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~{Aurora^}{Female, Siren}{18}{Tags:}~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aurora had nearly frozen when Celine pulled her behind the pillar. Her mind was whirling, and her muscles were starting to tense up from panic. Her mind flew back to that time not so long ago- when she had frozen in the water by that diver, and Neron had saved her...Neron. And an awful thought came. Was it really her fault...all the way from the beginning? Did by some freak chance, did that diver get footage of them? Is that how Neron was captured? He heart nearly stopped just thinking about it. But before it could, anger welled inside of the siren's breast. She would not. do this. again. She was a siren. She had enchanted many with her voice, and escaped far dire situations....well, maybe this was the words...but she wasn't about to let another wave of
fear stop her from helping. She would not have another friend's life on her hands. Frantically, she turned to Celine, and lowered her voice until it was just barely a whisper in the water.
"Plug your ears!" And then, she closed her eyes briefly, and took a deep breath. Now or never. With as much calm as she could muster, Aurora let the first shaky notes escape past her trembling lips, the notes wavering at first, but slowly growing stronger. She pictured rolling waves, and moonlight dancing on the water. She pictured every single calming thing she could, and imbued the peace of sleep into her enchanting song. A lullaby wove its way through the water, weaving a nearly impenetrable spell of sleep. It took all of her concentration to keep the emotion in it, to keep it's sleepy magic when her heart was still bursting at the seems with anger and fright, but she managed to do it. It was a long shot, Aurora knew- she had no idea how effective her song would be, if at all, on the great serpent- but this last, desperate attempt was all she had. Maybe if Neron was here... For a moment, her concentration slipped, and a note, just a half step off, escaped, but within no time, She regained control. But she held Neron in her mind- the feeling of his calming, steady presence giving her new strength. And as she focused on him, her song gained new clarity, and carried her own mind to a future...a future with Neron. A happy one, a dream... Aurora wasn't sleeping, her song not holding the same temptation it would for others. But for a moment, it gave her a perfect dream- an image of a future so bright, it nearly terrified her...a future filled with lullabies and Neron.
