Sam frowned, watching the fireman leave the scene of the fire. All that was left of the store was a tall, ashy structure, but what annoyed her was that there were no casualties. None. At all. The whole fire had been frickin' SET to cause casualties, and yet everyone got out alive and well. The worst thing that could happen was the little boy having a cough for a few days. Sam grit her teeth, resisting the urge to kick the trash can beside her and walked off.

Sam walked through the streets of town, looking left and right. Oddly enough, even though she despised humans, this was one of the few places she felt at ease. She felt normal when little kids grinned up at her, or when adults would give a friendly wave or two. She felt the tension and frustration leave her body, and she continued, her gait a bit more casual. She had some time before she needed to go back and chew out the Nightwatchers for not setting a big enough fire. She looked around, searching for something to do.



Gabe skated up the ramp, watching the two girls with interest. He brushed his hair out of his eyes and put on a friendly smile. "Hey. What's up?" Yeah, his conversation-starting skills sucked, but hopefully they'd overlook that.
