whenever I get Photoshop back I'm going to make a picture of the outside, inside, and another shot of the house seeing as its sorta hard to describe and what I did describe isn't very accurate nor good.
Eh oh well.
I'll probably add another chunklet of chapter to this soon.

And that just reminded me for a strange reason of my Algebra teacher saying going so some math counts thing would be good for my college application.
I'll just put down
"Author who hands out lovely awards to possibly one and only fan"
:D
Eh sorry lame joke, but oh well. And guess what! Pinnacle has a theme song that doesn't make sense if you don't know the rest of the story and also is probably something most people wouldn't like listening too because they're too busy listening to rap -_-"
It tis "Shadows" by the band "RED"
And now to start typing up something.

Which, and this spoils a bit, the song is sort of like a conversation between Dagger and Jarrah.
EXTREMO SPOILER SHIELD/COVER YOUR EYES~~~~

Shhh shhh don't cry! Look, I'll add the next part (WHAT HAVE I DONE! UPSET A FAN? PREPOSTEROUS! T-T)... and I shan't tell. But its for a good reason.

Chapter .5j
--------> Continuation
She said she liked animals and plants. She also knew a lot of basic medical stuff. Apparently she had wanted to be a doctor. She told me about her parents and how she missed them. She told me how she was alone. How she saw the flare and tried to follow it to its source. How she packed as much as she could, but ended up running out of water a few days before she reached us. How she passed out, thinking she would never wake up. She was also 8.
Laurels became our official doctor/instructor in all things plant. Our mini farm expanded as after two days of rest she got to work improving our way of life. She was quiet about it though, and didn't foist her opinion on everyone. She coordinated the removal of tall grasses and brush, the tilling of the ground, the planting and watering, feeding and building a coop for Phil and Clara (our chickens if you forgot) and even a schedule for everyone, which worked much better than the one before. But other than that, she spent a lot of time with Break, reading filched books while sitting next to his prone form. Coon often tried to coax her into playing a game, but she stayed with Break until he was completely well, and then rejoined the world of the young.
She's pretty cool.
All in all, our little group was chugging a long, managing to live though consistently worrying about all the possible and probable dangers. We stayed like that for another month, stretching into May, June maybe... I don't keep up with time anymore. That's Coon's job. He keeps a weird collection of cuckoo clocks all around the house (don't ask me how he got them there, I honestly have no idea) and a battery operated one that he only turns on to check the time and adjust the cuckoos in the morning. I'm sure if I asked him, he could tell me everything about when everything else happened. He keeps notes on his calender of any events (like another fifth patch of land completely prepped for seeds), and also writes a journal. So does Rosethorn, Laurels, and even me.
The bad times are when I go to town. Sometimes they're okay, seeing all the stuff we get... But it's a full day's hike going straight to the nearest cluster of stores (8 hours of walking + misc breaks + random interuptions), and oftentimes we get chased by the feral dogs, massive disease carrying rats, or the more & more daring wildlife that has started reclaiming the city. Its creepy going there, and it feels like all the dead people are watching you. Going through the streets is a pain because cars are backed up there, dead people inside a few, most abandoned. The riots in the earlier days of the Scourge have ruined most buildings, leaving broken glass and knocked down doors and burn marks and every other sort of thing everywhere. Its like Detroit, but without the rust and old stuff. Heck, you even see the syringes and packs of Cocaine everywhere where everyone spent their last days too high on drugs to tell that they're high on drugs. Food is strewn around in the grocery stores by scavengers, half eaten/decomposed bodies reside in the buildings, even a few disgusting ones rotting on the streets. Half the stuff is gutted by those who thought they would live and should stock up on food and batteries and anything you could possibly shoplift, though some higher security buildings still have stuff in them, and anything with an okay lock. That's why we usually target the warehouses, because most have locked doors and Grasswhistle and Coon are experts on anything that uses tumblers and keys... Its hard to lug all the stuff with you, you usually have to camp out there for a night or two just to gather all the good stuff.
But the hardest part is the fact that everyone is dead, and everyone and everything you knew is never coming back.
By now, only one person hasn't appeared yet in this explanation. His name is Icechips. He's the oldest in our group, a grand old age of 16.
Knowing him now, the little bit I do, I realize if circumstances had been different, he never would have joined our group, and we would have never seen him. But his situation was urgent. He would have left immediatley too if not for how bad it was compared to what he had thought.
What had happened was Ice had been wandering in the woods behind our house. He very much knew that we were there and even who we were. But he avoided us, preferring to remain hidden.
One day he was wandering at the fringes of the forest that were closest to the city. A dog started chasing him. A rabid dog, of all things. We just have the best of luck don't we? Anyway, he managed to elude the dog for a while, and eventually scampered up a tree and stayed there for several hours, watching the dog twitch and convulse. Eventually, after barking at him for a long time, it died. Ice jumped down.
And made a big mistake.
He had climbed higher than he probably should've, and didn't climb down before he dropped to the ground. He had planned to just jump off and run back to his small camp.
Problem was when he landed, he crunched, bad.
Somehow he managed to lug himself a mile all the way back to us, most likely after much pain and internal debate. Now that I think about it, that feat seems impossible for Ice. He hates it when he needs to rely on other people for help. But he dealt with that, obviously, and came to us.
When he came in, his legs were pretty mangled looking. He gritted his teeth and told us who he was and his problem. While Laurels messed with his legs, Dagger questioned him and got what I just told you.
I think Ice was more pissed that he had to be helped by an eight year old than the fact that both legs were broken.
About him... He has piercing, ice blue eyes, that betray no emotion, except when he first came. He showed frustration then. Usually they looked like chips of ice. He's tallest, has shaggy black hair that was obviously dyed. His features are hard and prominent, and he has heavy scars running down the insides of his arms and a small one on his lip. And he's discompassionate about everything.
Unfortunately perfect for surviving the end.
He barely stayed with us. I think he thought us insuperior. But he stayed, silent, while his legs finished healing and Laurel tended gently to him. He particularly disliked Break's weakness.
But he's here, and the best strategist you could know. And raider.
And that's everyone in our mismatched group. Now back to a month from Ice, I'm in a Wal-Mart warehouse with Coon and...
Adults.
