We'd bump into the same problem as we had with the new lines and the talk about transfer of designs; most artists doesn't want to have transfer artists because it's easy for another artist to miss details in a design and thus there would be differences.
But I like the idea of foal gift lines though. c:

I voted other. And here's why. I would love to see some "official" type foal lines! I have some quids (and i know some others do as well) that are forever foals and i personally would want that particular quid in foal lines but not removed from the adult reference. So the gift lines idea would be wonderful.
but as for making the breeding artist put them on foal lines then transfer them to the official lines i vote No. I love and appreciate what all the artist do already. I would only want foal lines for specific quids of mine.

I'd personally prefer we didn't have foal lines for the same things Ghost has stated.
I don't want equids I designed to be transferred by another artist, mostly because it's easy to not see all the little details in a design if you aren't the person who made the design in the first place.
That and it's just be more work to transfer designs from a foal lineart to an adult lineart. Foal Giftlines would be nice, since they're optional to use and not mandatory.
Plus, I feel we don't need new permanent artists for any position, the artists we have now are doing an exceptional job.

The issue I see with this is that it would take a lot more time and energy imo than if horsy were to do giftlines and have someone post it/add people for her as she is very busy. Having to constantly monitor a public gift line for people making fake equids (you would have to take the time to dig to make sure its a real equid for example) and then possibly having to get CS moderators involved to get things removed when they happen just seems like a lot more work to me than just adding people to a closed gift line that would have people who only own equids joining it, if all that makes sense?

I'm pretty much 100% in agreement with this.

I voted other; I think that, I'd like to see what a wme foal looks like to horsy and maybe since there was a poll about charging money for breedings she could instead open the foal lines for herself to color? (for of course money)
I see foal lines being more of an issue, as it is we already have issues with breedings not opening often and many of the same users getting in again and again. We'd still be having the same issues with the foal lines but worse since it would take what time away we already had for just normal breedings and swallow it whole into the abyss of it takes more time to do two color-ins then one. While baby lines are cute for some species, and nice so you can have a decent ref. I don't think they're right for wmes.

I voted for Only if they are NOT put into the adult lineart only to have the person have the choice of using the foal lines, knowing they won't be on adult lines-
so say you got a breeding- part of your form could ask for the foal lines. But that is acknowledging that your foal will be on the foal lines forever. Or, you can choose the adult lines.
I personally love foal line arts as thats how I got my first WME Zaria. Horsy made a WME foal lineart and hose s few people to get custom WME's. (custom being she designed and you had first dibs)
