Anyway, Washa and Jean always make funny comments on things.

After hearing Jean and Naoki's backstory in Episode 17, did your opinion on Naoki change, since before that episode, he seems to be more of a villain than after you understand him better? Or do you still think of him as a total bad guy? Or did you always like him to begin with?

After Ep 17, I think the writers were consciously making an effort to make Naoki do fewer evil things and more 'slightly cruel'... Either that or my perspective just changed. I do understand why he seems to quite dislike Jean, though - at first I just assumed he was jealous or something. :P

I adore that Kitti picture, by teh way, it seems really accurate!

I wonder what Aliria's opinion is on Naoki, though, since she said episode 17 sums up why Jean is awesome, while you said it helps you understand why Naoki hates her. I guess it's true that you really see both sides of their feud very well in that episode, and although it shows you why Naoki hates Jean, you also see nice things that Jean did, such as helping Washa when Naoki hurt him… I guess it really depends on whose perspective you choose to look from.

I kind of feel like Naoki isn't really that realistic of a villain, sibling rivalries just don't work like that. I do still like Naoki, he is entertaining sometimes, his motivations just don't quite make sense.

True, that. I always kind of assumed he was purposely made to be ridiculously pretentious, though.

I agree with Piefan that he was meant to be ridiculously pretentious and not all too realistic: it's what makes him funny. Like how he calls himself "The King of Bees", upon which Jean whispers (or tries to whisper :P) to Kitti: "He doesn't even have any bees!"

I like Naoki's many sides: how one moment, he is ridiculous and makes me laugh, and then another moment, he is actually a scary villain (like what he did to Washa), and then on other moments, you can feel more sympathy for him and somewhat understand his point of view even though it doesn't always make sense. These different sides are what makes him one of my favorite characters. I also like how he leaves his "sign" painted everywhere.

Yeah, that sign can be annoying to the actual characters (remember that time when Kitti and some other people had just painted a mural and he just kinda covered it up?), but it's amusing to me. :P

Also, we've spent so much time talking about Washa, Jean, and Naoki that the other main characters have barely been mentioned. I really like almost every outfit that Chance wears in the show, on that note.

Lol, you're right, Piefan: we've hardly talked about Kitti at all, when she's the main character!

I was really surprised about Kitti being one of my favorite characters, since I often find the main character less interesting than the others in a show or a book series (I think that's because authors often make the main character the most "normal" on purpose, so that it's easier to understand him/her). I like how she has flaws (like her anger issues), and how she is different from the usual main character, but how she's still relatable. I also like how there are quite a few episodes where she is not the main character: that way, we get to see things from several different perspectives.

I think it's really cute how Chance helps Kitti with her anger issues, and how she helps him in return with his own problems. And yeah, Chance's outfits are awesome ^^.

Edit: I also made a drawing of Naoki's sign. As you probably know, it's a circle with a three-petalled (is that even a word?) flower in it, and of course it's in Naoki's favorite color: yellow!

Yeah, I usually hate main characters, but Kitti is cool. I love how she kind of breaks the way main characters always act, with the ''Humans are amazing, life is the greatest thing in the universe, I'm totally not the exact same character as every main character ever.''

Some of Chase's outfits are a bit too extreme. It is kind of interesting though, how when he became a good guy his outfits got a whole lot simpler, though I'm not sure whether that's an actual thing or just the artist giving up on drawing those things.

Lol, you say that as if Chance was an actual bad guy: I guess you're right and you could call him that, since he was helping Naoki do bad things, but I don't think he actually realized it was bad. Naoki had taken advantage of Chance's naivety and had convinced him that what they were doing was the right thing. But then when he made friends with Kitti, he realized that he had been wrong in believing him and then he felt really bad and switched sides immediately. But he never hated Naoki and still wanted to be his friend. I think it's cute how Chance (especially after figuring out that he didn't agree with the things he did) seems to be pretty good at dealing with Naoki in a friendly but effective way: that's also why I like them as a pairing, but I also really ship Kitti x Chance because they are just too cute together ^^.

(And of course, Jean knows best how to deal with Naoki in a non-friendly way, lol.)

I think Chance's outfits changed because when he was Naoki's assistant-in-crime, he mixed his own clothing style with that of Naoki, who also wears crazy outfits, whereas when he made friends with Kitti, he seemed to mix his own clothing style with hers instead of with Naoki's, so then he wore less crazy and slightly more girly clothing. But that's just me guessing: it wasn't like he clearly copied their style or something…
