warning;; spoilers for danganronpa - trigger happy havoc

Ishimaru Kiyotaka wasn't angry with Mondo, or, at least, he put up the façade that he wasn't.

He looked over at the now-crumbling biker, who seemed to be trying to gather all of his shattered thoughts back into a whole. He couldn't hold back the feeling of tears forming in his eyes. It built and built until it was simply too much to withstand and felt his eyelids becoming moist. Ishimaru shut his eyes as if to hold it back, but his timing was off before teardrops slipped down his face, leaving wet trails of anger and sadness.

He couldn't bring himself to look at Mondo, the super high school level outlaw biker. He couldn't look at the man who had broken his promise, nonetheless everyone else who was staring. He clenched his teeth as his whole body shook in growingly violent convulsions as he tried to stop himself.

And to think that a few days ago they were newfound best friends.

No. This could not be real.

"Stop! Stop st-staring!" he managed to gasp out, his eyes flitting open to take in the shocked faces of the other super levels around him. The anger on his face was indescribable. It was mostly focused towards this stupid murdering...game? A game, some would call it. Others thought that the fact that a select few of the best people in the world at a certain thing in this moment were put in a school to murder each other wasn't a game. Was it to give others around the world a better chance? Or just for some disgusting despair fetish? Yep, definitely the fetish.

It hurt. A lot. A hollow feeling wrapped itself around Ishimaru's heart and pulled and bit at it. The hollowness ached and ached until something snapped, and he rushed over to Mondo as it flooded his mind like a tidal wave.

"You...IDIOT! Y-You broke our promise!" he shouted, the words having no effect on Mondo, who was already growing cold and numb to any touch by the second. Ishimaru's voice cracked and shook as he tried to get Mondo to respond. Their promise was to not murder anyone. For if you were found out to have done that, you'd be executed by the headmaster. And neither of them wanted to see one another go up in flames or whatever sick thing the headmaster had in mind.

He'd had it. He reached up and grabbed the collar of Mondo's coat, yanking it downwards and holding onto it as if he'd never let go. Mondo's face was only inches from Ishimaru's, and Ishimaru could feel his hot, slow breath on his skin. Mondo's lip quivered ever so slightly, as he tried to hold back every emotion and make it seem how the others saw him. Tough, a biker. No, the best biker, Mondo Oowada. Ishimaru whimpered quietly, trying hold it back. It came out more so as a choke than anything else.

"I'm...sorry..." Mondo sighed shakily, frowning as his eyes and nose started to move into a reddish hue as he tried to hold back tears. He didn't move. He didn't say anything more as he let himself fall into Ishimaru's arms.

Ishimaru started sobbing quietly, holding tightly to Mondo as he quickly wrapped his arms around the "tough" biker in order to support his heavy frame.

"W-why..? Why did you do it...?!" Ishimaru whispered, shutting his eyes and letting the tears flow freely without struggle. The answer was simple, but Ishimaru didn't seem to be getting it.

"F-for you...for all of them, the super levels. I wanted us to get out...they wanted to get out...CAN'T YOU SEE EVEN THAT, ISHIMARU??!" Mondo roared, pulling away from the "hug" and gripping Ishimaru's shoulders in a death grip. Ishimaru hiccupped in shock as he halted crying and was scared by this new display of roughness.

Mondo didn't want to go. Anyone could see that much.

No one was excited for their executions. They would be themed after what they were good at. Taking something they loved and turning it back into their faces as hate.

"P-please...don't leave." Ishimaru whimpered.

"I don't want to...I wouldn't if it was my choice..." Mondo sighed as tears began to rush down his face. He wiped them away and glared down at Ishimaru. "Stop it. Stop crying," he ordered. It may have sounded rude, but in reality, it would save him from sobbing too. And when Mondo cries, you'd better be scared. "You're making me..." Mondo trailed off, tears slipping down his cheeks and coming as quickly as he tried to wipe them away.

Ishimaru tore out of his grasp and bolted over to the headmaster, ignoring what Mondo said about crying.

"Don't do it! PLEASE!" Ishimaru pleaded, gripping the arm of the chair that the headmaster was sitting on. He dug his nails into the soft wood harshly, leaving little crescent moon shapes.

He yelled.

He sobbed.

He begged.

Nothing worked. No amount of tears could stop the despair-sickened headmaster from thinking out Mondo's execution and happily laughing about it.

"WAIT! PLEASE, WAIT!" Ishimaru sobbed and cried out, collapsing to the floor. He shouldn't have been doing these things, as it was just feeding the headmaster what he wanted.

And soon, there he was, covering his eyes and blocking his senses from picking up anything from Mondo's execution. While all the other super levels gawked, he cried and tried to run away.

His heart was an injury that no one but Mondo or Chihiro could mend. And when he tried to tie it back together himself, he became how most did when someone they love dies-faking happiness and the feeling of being alright. Tears still fell from his eyes as he smiled and pretended to be okay.

He really wasn't.
