Evelyn Symphony Redfern-Rebel-Visions and healing abilities- with Austin.

Evelyn pulled back and was about to reply when she heard it, the explosions. Her eyes widened and she jumped to her feet. "No!" She screamed as she took off running towards camp. "No no no. Not the one time I leave camp." she said as she ran. She froze when she saw what was happening. It was a disaster. She scanned the area quickly, looking for Santiago and Erin. Her eyes widened even more, if that was possible, when she saw Santiago dragging a very injured Erin. She shook her head and looked away. They didn't need her, not at the moment. She turned back to the battle to see one of the rebels trying to fight an enforcer, and failing. They were badly injured. Evelyn took a deep breath and ran towards them, pushing the rebel out of the way just as the enforcer shot his gun. The bullet just grazed her arm. She narrowed her eyes slightly before throwing a punch at his face, sending him stumbling backwards. She was about to advance on him again when another explosion went off. She screamed and raised her hands in front of her face. The blast flung her backwards, badly burning her hands and forearms. She slammed into a tree and fell back to the ground, dizzy and having a hard time breathing.

{ Rhianna Fruend

Postby gallifrey falls. » Wed Apr 08, 2015 2:49 pm

rhianna - scientists - cryokenisis and power sensing - tagged; adelaide, evelyn, austin, quinn, ricky - ooc; ---

xxxRhianna glanced in the man's driection once. "He has the ability to shape shift and sense other's emotions. I can't tell what he can shift into though, or if it's limited." Taking a breath, she glanced over at Adelaide, noting her unusual silence. About to ask her if anything was wrong, sudden explosions from the direction of the camp caused her to pause.
That was rather unexpected. Annoying, and unexpected. Hissing in anger, Rhianna cursed, "Goddamn you and your freaking impatience! You could have given us a few more days!" Whom or what she was referring to remain unsaid, although Adelaide would draw the conclusions she was speaking about dear, dear, Rick. Shooting the girl in question a glance, Rhianna noted her look of panic, and plead for some kind of leadership. She pushed Quinn and Ricky out of her mind, and tried to say something to Adelaide, only for her to dash off into the trees, towards the fighting and gunfire. Rhianna threw up her hands, exasperated. "Does no one in this world have patience?" She set off after Adelaide all the same, leaving Quinn and Ricky behind, to follow if they wished.
xxxThe campsite was chaos. Mercenaries, or 'field agents', as Rick referred to them, were everyone. She didn't get a complete head count, as everyone was moving quickly and without much order. Blood sprayed the air as a mercenary shot a fleeing rebel in the back, as another came out of another hut, dragging a boy behind him. Her expression darkened in anger. What good was a melee? Rick had told her and Adelaide to go out and collect escapees, so they could be used for further experimentation. Killing them wouldn't do their precious science much good. So either the mercenaries were getting trigger happy, or Rick was a lying, double-crossing, douchebag. Rhianna pressed her lips into a hard line. Of course he was. Rick probably wanted to get the two of them killed in the firefight, and blame it on stray gunfire. After all, he probably knew she was in this for herself, and didn't want her endangering the mission. Adelaide was going to get killed off simply so she wouldn't try to take revenge for Rhianna's accidental death. How neatly he had planned it, how carefully and without either of them being the wiser. Oh, how she hated him.
xxxAdelaide was suddenly at her side, urgently telling her they needed to go. She probably had a point; the mercenaries wouldn't differentiate between friend and foe. Not that she considered these backstabbing idiots any kind of friend or ally. Giving Adelaide a quick nod, she turned and suddenly froze on the mercenaries mid step, frost coating his body. Ambling over, Rhianna knelt down and looked him in the eye. "I know you can still hear me, so listen up. You're going to survive this fight, in fact you're going to leave right now. Crawl back to Ricky, and tell him I am personally going to go over to his little headquarters, find him, freeze him in a block of ice, and break it into pieces with a sledgehammer. Block of Rick-ice plus hammer equals no more Rick. Understood?" She snapped her fingers, and the mercenary was unfrozen. He rubbed his arms, glaring at her and saying nothing. He did, however, go to the edge of the treeline and make his way into the woods, presumably to deliver her message. How nice of him.
xxxTurning, she gave Adeliade a bright smile. "You ready to go?" Rhianna led the way towards the others, figuring they could spilt up once they were out of the current danger zone. A glance to the left showed Santiago lugging an injured rebel away from the fight, but she didn't pay much attention. Reaching the treeline a moment later, Rhianna headed into the forest, still simmering with anger at Rick's betrayal.

I'm killing Rick off. Quinn's gonna be captured. I can't keep up with three people. ;-;))

Austin-19-Shifter/Empathy

Austin's eyes widens in a moment of panic as gunfire echoed through the forest, and the bombs went off. Evelynn went running for camp as fast as she could go. Oh god.. He whispered as he realized what was happening. He jumped up quickly, chasing after her. He ran past four kids who were now fully aware of the danger, but he didn't stop to tell them to run. An older girl seemed to be watching them. She also seemed quite angry. He couldn't stop for them. By the time he stopped, he was in the middle of the firefight, and Evelynn seemed to have been caught in an explosion, and was sitting slumped by a tree. A mercenary was slowly approaching her, grinning a twisted smile. Something is seriously wrong with these people. He thought, growling. He shifted into a hawk, divebombing the mercenary and clawing at his face with his talons. He saw the gun a bit to late. It swung at him and sent him crashing into the tree as well. After a moment his head cleared of the black fog that came with a hit to the head. His head was pounding, and he could feel blood seeping from it. He shifted again, this time into a wolf, and shook his head, snarling. For a moment, the mercenary seemed stunned, but regained his composure rather quickly. Austin lunged for him just as he took aim, and the gun went off in a panicked frenzy of bullets. Two caught Austin in his shoulder, but he didn't pay attention as he landed on the agent and bit into his throat, killing him instantly. Austin limped back to Evelynn, nudging her with his muzzle, whimpering for her to come on and hoping she realized it was him. His shoulder was gushing blood, and his vision was going fuzzy. But he had to stay awake for Evelynn.. Stay awake. He ordered himself as the camp and rebels crumbled around him.

Quinn and Rick/Shadow Manipulation/16

Quinn had no time to react. She had Rick's hand in hers within seconds as they ran to the camp. Or what was left of it. Agents were everywhere. She looked at Rick and let go of his hand. Her hands twitched in anger and frustration as the shadows swirled around them. Rick was doing the same. Quinn thrust her hands outwards, making agents shadows grab them and drag them to the ground. They had nothing to shoot at, shadows couldn't be killed by bullets. They died when the person they followed died. Slowly about ten agents went down, their shadows going with them. Ricky cried out, and Quinn turned to face him. A bullet had town through his lower abdomen, and he collapsed to the ground. Rick! No! No no no! No! Not Rick! She screamed, collapsing beside him. She felt someone grab her shoulder, but she kicked out at them, catching them in the face. Someone snarled and grabbed both her legs, and another grabbed her arms. She felt something cold press to her head, then pull back and slam against it. She was out cold.

Evelyn Symphony Redfern-Rebel-Visions and healing abilities- with Austin.

Evelyn groaned softly when something nudged her. She blinked open her eyes and turned to see what it was. At first panic set in, thinking it was someone from the enforcer's side. She calmed down quickly though when she realized they weren't hurting her. She slowly forced herself into a sitting position. "You're bleeding." She said softly before she raised her badly burned hands towards the wound on his head. She tried to heal him, but all it did was send shooting pains up her arms. She whimpered and pulled backwards. "I-I can't heal you." She whispered with a small shake of her head. Her eyes scanned the camp quickly. She watched as one of the newbies, Ricky, dropped to the ground. She could have saved him if she could still heal. She cursed herself and had to look away, not seeing the person take Quinn. "Come on. We have to go." She said to Austin. She scanned the area again until she spotted Santiago and Erin. She pointed a shaky hand in their direction. "We need to get to them. Santiago should be able to heal you." She said. She forced herself to her feet and started walking, only to fall back down by the force of a bullet hitting her shoulder. She cried out in pain and moved backwards, out of the encorcer's range. "We need to go around the camp. We'll get killed if we just go straight through."

Austin Carter-19-Shifter/Empathy

Austin whimpered and nodded. His head was pounding. So much emotion was running through his head, and he couldn't shut it out right now. He nudged Evelynn again, shifting back to his human self. Both of their shoulders were bleeding heavily. We have to go. We have to. He looked around, watching rebels and mercenaries fall. This place was a battle ground. This would be the start of an uprising in the rebels. He looked where the others kids had been hiding, but they were out by the treeline now. One of the smaller girls was being drug away (Quinn) while a boy lay on the ground, dead (Ricky). He shook his head, trying to close the flow of emotions. Anything from sadness to anger to the seething need for revenge. It took all of his strength to stay standing. He grabbed Evelynn's hand. Let's go. He began walking, looking around for mercenaries attacks.

(Alright. That's okay.)

{santiago || rebels || terrakinesis, minor healing || tagged; erin}

Santiago could feel Erin fading away as he dragged him to safety, literally felt the man's life force diminish like a receding tide, and he cried out and charged on and his immense frustration manifested itself physically, the ground around him tearing and rippling outwards in a violent wave. He stumbled on the aftershocks, gripped Erin tighter and strode ever further away from the battlefield. Every step was pained, feet firmly dug into the ground to drag a body which seemed heavier by the moment. He was exerting himself and he knew, knew he had to conserve his energy (Erin needs it Erin needs it Erin needs it). He'd killed and he was terrified, and he just wanted it to be over but even as the thought desperately ran through his mind, a bullet grazed his shoulder.

He barely paid attention to it. In fact, the scope of his attention was very narrow and extended little further than the quickest route furthest away from the camp, and the man he half-dragged, half-carried.

But he ran until the sounds of firing were distant, and then ran some more - when he finally collapsed in some ditch, it was way further into the forest than he'd ever wandered. Fears of wild animals were the last thing on his mind as he bent over Erin's body, prone before him and paler than he'd ever seen. The man's icy blue eyes looked vacant, and fresh tears rolled down Santiago's cheeks. "No, no, no..." He moaned, frantically grasping Erin's shoulders. The moment he touched him, it felt his breath being sucked from his lungs - like a kick, or a bullet - and he gasped for air, eyes wide and desperate as he fell backwards. Releasing him immediately relieved the pressure and Santiago pulled at his hair, stuck, desperate, helpless. He took a moment to breathe before laying his hands on the man again, bracing himself against the awful winding feeling which soon followed. Fighting it was like a dinghy battling against a tidal wave - he settled on willing forward what energy he could spare (give it all Erin needs it Erin Erin Erin). Hope blossomed in his wild, bloodshot eyes as he saw the ugly hole in Erin's chest begin to knit itself back together... but then they rolled back and Santiago swayed, then collapsed onto Erin as a wave of lightheadedness rolled over him and turned everything to black.

{adelaide || scientists || teleportation, enhanced strength || tagged; rhianna}

Adelaide stared in utter bewilderment as Rhianna took the time to relay a message to Rick whilst they stood amidst chaos and were literally surrounded by heartless killers armed to the teeth. Screw revenge, how would Rhianna get revenge if half her head was blown off? She gritted her teeth and stopped herself from telling her partner just what she thought of her decisions, her only response to Rhianna's bright smile a look of utter disbelief, with desperation and anger thrown in for good measure.

She followed in long strides, stumbling as she ducked under shots aimed at her. A bullet caught her shin, another flew so close past her ear she swore she felt it, but she carried on running. But as her and Rhianna entered deeper and deeper into the forest, it became apparent that the mercenaries weren't at all interested in tying off loose ends - which made her question just who the hell they were. As far as she saw (through the smoke and chaos and blood), there were no handcuffs or collars, not even attempts at subduing the mutants before killing them off. No tazers or rubber bullets - live ammunition and high grade explosives. Were the Precision mercs getting restless? Would Precision even condone such thoughtless slaughter? After all, each mutant was an experiment, and each experiment was an investment and a costly one at that.

Even as her and Rhi slowed to a jog, then stopped entirely, Adelaide's mind was on this. It took her a moment to shake herself from the confusing, worrying train of thought and focus on her partner - and remember that she was angry at her. "Just what the hell were you thinking, stopping to pass a message on to Rick?!" She demanded, rounding on Rhianna and jabbing a finger at her chest. "You froze one of them, with god-knows how many others just waiting to pull the trigger! You careless, stupid... idiot!" Her teeth were gritted and worry shone clearly in her eyes, even though she harshly wiped at them to hide the sentiment.

{smith || rebels || shapeshifting, poison immunity || tagged; quinn, evelyn, austin}

Smith's bunk was one of the three rigged to explode - burned and battered, he was buried under the rubble of his own makeshift home, coughing harshly as his lungs filled with smoke and dust. Everything felt like it was on fire, and every single muscle cried out in pain. For what felt like ages, he was lost in complete and utter confusion, torn from the boring day he'd been having and thrust into fire and chaos. The man was bleeding, he was broken. But the rubble moved and shifted, and the scorpion rose. His already inhuman face was contorted in rage, animal eyes burning with hatred as he snarled and set off, bounding across the battlefield. He came into his element flawlessly - fighting had always come so easily to him, and if he used his abilities to kill those who trained him... even better.

It wasn't long before he was splattered in blood all over, thick shell smudged and cracked in some places where the mercenaries managed to hit one too many times. His long claws were completely covered in crimson and dripping with venom. There was no pause to consider who these people were, why they had done this... the reasons couldn't matter less when there was retribution to carry out. It was easy to hate them, watching them tear apart everything he and the others worked so hard to build, a place of their own carved out in a cruel and uncaring world.

Which is why it felt like he himself was being torn apart when he saw Santiago and Erin retreating from the battlefield. He could see Erin was wounded, but... they were abandoning their home. Their friends, the only family they had. His heart shattered as the two men disappeared into the forest - but his dismay soon boiled over into deep, white-hot anger. Snarling, he turned his back to the scene of betrayal and returned to the melee. After all, chasing them would make him just as bad.

Across the camp, he saw a merc lifting an unconscious girl onto his shoulder. He recognised her as one of the new arrivals - but it didn't matter how new she was. With a hiss, Smith sprinted towards them in heavy, thudding steps. He stopped just short of the mercenary, simultaneously grabbing the girl around the waist while his other hand swung into his opponent's midsection. The man doubled over, Smith followed his punch with a knee to the stomach, hard enough to topple the merc over. A single stomp and he never got up again. He put his arms under the girl's shoulders and knees - intending to set her somewhere safe and return to helping everyone else... but a look across the battlefield showed him how dire things were. Too many rebels and not enough mercenaries had died and there was nothing left fighting for.

Ignoring the stabbing pain in his chest that had nothing to do with his wounds, he grasped the girl tighter and set off towards the forest, following fresh footprints with grim determination in his eyes. It wasn't long before he caught up to Evelyn and a boy he'd never seen before, whom he immediately regarded with utter suspicion in his eyes. Still, Evelyn clearly trusted him and Smith trusted her. He nodded at them in greeting. "You're both wounded. How badly?" Though not entirely without sympathy in his tone, the question was mostly matter-of-fact. His changed form twisted his tone, turned it deeper, drier, like the snapping of twigs underfoot.

Austin Carter-19-Shifter/Empathy

Austin mumbled. Just a bullet wound or two to my shoulder. I'm not sure about Evelyn.. He looked at the girl in the man's arms. Is she okay? He asked, looking at a large cut on her forehead. She was bleeding badly, but he couldn't tell how bad the wound was through the blood. Head wounds always bled more than needed. He touched her head lightly and she groaned, and his hand jerked back. He looked at Evelyn, then back to the man and girl. She was the girl he had ran past to catch up to Evelyn. Had he stopped, she might not be wounded. But that might've resulted in Evelyn's death. It didn't matter now. They were alive, and needed to find the others. If anyone was left.

Quinn-16-Shadow Manipulation/Enhanced Fighting

Quinn whimpered as she felt someone snatch her from her attacker. She had no idea who had her now, and couldn't force her eyes to open. Maybe she didn't want to see. Where was Ricky..? She hoped he was okay. (She doesn't remember everything that happened) She felt herself being carried and they came to a stop. Maybe it was Ricky carrying her. She felt someone touch her head, and she groaned with pain. What was happening?

Evelyn Symphony Redfern-Rebel-Visions and healing abilities- with Austin.

It hurt a lot when Austin grabbed her hand, but she ignored it. "We can't just let them all die. I-I have to do something." She said softly, her voice shaking. She glanced back at the camp, wanting to go back, only to see that there was nothing left to protect, no one left to save. She choked back tears as she watched everything they had worked so hard to form crumbled. She snapped back to reality only when she saw Smith coming towards them, carrying Quinn. "Smith?" she whispered softly. During the commotion she had completely forgotten to look for him. He was soaked in blood, whether his own or not she did not know. She didn't care though. She was just happy to see him. "Just burns and a bullet wound on my shoulder. He's worse than me." She replied, motioning towards Austin. "How are you? What about Quinn?" she asked, her throat practically closing as she remembered watching the girl's brother die. "We need to get back to Santiago and Erin. Santiago will have to heal everyone. My hands were burned and it stopped my powers." She said softly. She took one last longing look at the camp before pushing forward again.

(This is going to be a short, badly-written post, mostly just to let you guys know Erin's still alive.)
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂
Name → Erin Tellan
Powers → Appearance shift,
power amplification.
Age → 26
Location → rebel camp
Tagged → Santiago
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

Erin didn't know what was happening so much as he was aware. He didn't know where he was, but he was aware of the many thousands of pin-prick lives that wove a network around him, visible only when he looked hard. He was aware of Santiago's pain, anguish; aware that the man's body was heavy on his - but he didn't know what this meant. Where he was, it didn't matter. All that mattered was the achingly slow regaining of his power.

And the fact that he was now aware of the man's power of cracked rock and hollow space. Hollow space, where a core of healing energy should be. So his own power stirred, spilled up to the newcomer. Questioning and comforting this power; it was safe here. Rest.
