    Username: Kitty Lion
    3 Words: Silence, Darkness, Glacial
    Preferred genre: Dark-ish romance
Other: Can you slide in a few mythical creatures in there?

Quietly making her way through the trees, a seemingly young girl walking in the shadow of night. Long ebony hair was braided behind her, a few strands falling in front of her bright green eyes. Every now and then she would glance over her shoulder making sure she wasn't being followed. Everytime there was nothing. Light on her feet the night was filled with silence. Heart beating faster she ascended the hill, keeping her eyes on the willow tree at the top. Placing her hand on the smooth bark she closed her eyes. Am I really going to go through with this? she asked herself. When she opened her eyes he was there.

Tall and lean with a devilish smile, a man with amber eyes looked at the girl in front of him. He was dark, and something about him was bound to give anyone a bad feeling. Still, he was generally appealing. Stepping closer he gingerly placed a hand on the girls shoulder. The other was reserved for running his hand down her braid. He observed her, eyes going all around her. She stood her ground and stared straight ahead, not really knowing what he was going to do. Then he spoke. "Are you sure you are willing to leave everything behind?" He grinned. "You seem afraid." he commented, noting her rigid figure.

She tilted her head up making eye contact. "I wouldn't have came if I wasn't serious about leaving. Of coarse I am scared of you." She placed a hand on his cheek. "A man who turns into a wolf is someone most people fear. Besides, I can't bear the thought of living like I have been." She smiled sadly. Darkeness surrounded the two as a cloud passed over the moon. She leaned into him, wrapping her arms around and pulling the werewolf into an embrace. "I'm done with the life I have been living. I'm ready to go."

"I am glad you made a decision." He said. The two left in the night, leaving a self destructing kingdom behind heading towards the Great Forest.

A few months before the girl had been walking through the market. She lived in a kingdom where crime was high, and she was miserable. Fear seemed to rule, and the kingdom was on its way to destruction. Soon there would be nothing and no one to tell of its existence except bandits. Then she met him. He stood out among the crowd. Not like the criminals, but like a foreigner. Tall and handsome he seemed stun the crowds. For hours he strolled the markets, and the girl stalked him. Her curiosity was strong. He was different.

Finally he confronted her, long ago realizing she was following him. He warned her that she shouldn't follow him, and she didn't listen. Instead, she continued on into the night. When she lost him in an alley she realized what he was. When she turned around he was there, but he wasn't a human. He tried his best to scare her off. Still she stood her ground until he changed back. From then on they began to meet and talk. He spoke of the horrible things he had done, and she continuously said she didn't care.

This all led up to the night where they ran away. He took her to a cottage deep in the forest. He promised her safety, and a better life. "Listen, you are a very stubborn girl. Here me when I tell you this, this forest is dangerous. There are plenty of creatures that come from the most darkest pits of this place. I will protect you from them. I need you to trust me though." he told her quietly.

"I'm not afraid, but I'm also not stupid." She smiled. For weeks the two tried to get used to living together. He would leave to go through the woods, keeping creatures as benevolent as the faeries, and as malevolent as the dragons away. They soon began to become more comfortable with their way of life, falling into a gentle routine. One day she was waiting for him to return, and he didn't come back. She waited, and waited, but then she began to worry. When threes days passed she decided to go look for him.

There were no signs of him close to their cottage. So she wandered farther and farther away. His footprints led off towards a glacial river, and end right at the bank. Calling out for him would be a mistake. It would only attract the attention of the creatures around. Not willing to give up she continued searching. Alone in the forest she grew weary and afraid. She discovered a path that led off into a meadow taking her farther and farther from the cottage. Her hope grew when she found more footprints, and she began to follow them until she became lost. They led her in circles, up into the point where she finally stopped.

The girl sat on a stump, placing her head in her hands she cried. A hand on her shoulder made her jump. When she realized who it was she ran into his arms. "I told you not to leave." He said, his face distraught. It was obvious that he was worried, and he looked down at her not in anger, but with compassion.

"I'm sorry. I thought you were gone." she said tiredly. He held her in his arms, realizing that he couldn't handle losing her. Taking her home, he promised he would always return to her.

The early morning mist had begun to appear, making things seem hazy and making the world seem sleepy. Song birds and the light rustling of the tall grass was all that sounded in the peace. This however wouldn't last long. Most creatures around knew that. This was the land of the horses, and soon they would be making their mark on the land heading to another grazing land. The herd was a notably large one, led by a stunning chestnut colored mare who looked out for everyone. For generations they lived secluded in a flawless land, large and protected from other herds and the clutches of humans. None knew of it but the ones living in it.

Thunder sounded in the distance, not from the sky, but the earth. Hooves danced across the ground, and all colors of horses poured over the hill. Streaked of blacks and ranges of browns all followed after the lead mare, who proudly led the way to where they needed to be. She slowed, sides heaving. A satisfied glint was visible in her eye as she watched her herd, now wide awake from running, begin to settle into the new side of the grazing land. Some went off to the stream to drink, while the foals played about. Nothing gets better than this. We are the most free of the creatures left to roam. she thought ecstatically.

Off on her own, she was left to reminisce on who she used to be. As a foal she was timid, yet curious. Destined to become leader she tried her hardest to ignore responsibility. When she matured enough to open her eyes, she saw the wonders of being able to take over and lead. Shaken from her thoughts a sturdy powdery grey horse sauntered up, his mane falling over his eyes. "I thought I would find you here." He said thoughtfully. She nudged him gently happy to have him around.

"You know, I don't always come here." she stated. But she knew she was lying. It was something about the one spot that made her want to remember everything she did growing up.

"You do in fact come here everytime we come this way. You have never told me why though." he said, the sentence being more of a question.

"It's peaceful. Yes, everywhere here is peaceful, but this once spot is special." the mare was reluctant to tell why she loved being in the grove of cherry trees. Still, she felt like she could trust her closest friend with such private information. "I would always come here to get away from the herd. My mother would always end up finding me, but she would never reprimand me for it. Better yet, she would tell me stories." The mare had a new look in her eye, one that puzzled the stallion. "She told me of a time where our herd wasn't free. A time spent far beyond the boundaries of our homeland before we were considered 'wild'. She told me of how long before her time humans kept us locked away in pens and fences, withholding us from our freedom. One day some of them escaped, finding their way into the land we now call our home." she sighed, thinking back to how many times she had asked to hear the same story. "Now here we are."

"Are you saying you don't like it here?" he asked curiously.

"No no, nothing like that. I am more than thankful for the protection and provision this land gives us. It's somewhat a miracle that nothing unfortunate has found us yet. I fear though that it may come though." She admitted.

"There is no need to fear. You take care of the herd. If anything did come, I know that you would be able to keep everyone safe. You have nothing to worry about." He reassured her. A little more comforted she led the way back to the meadow, where the foals played happily and the herd felt safe. Looking over all of the horses the mare closed her eyes, still unsure about everlasting peace.

Looking up at the darkening sky my village marvled at the sight of a solar eclipse. It was so close to the syzygy that it seemed to be a bit peculiar. In a weeks time all the planets would be aligned, meaning who knows what. The land we live in is very strange, so this could mean a number of things for us. Still, nobody has begun to panick yet.

Everything was still pitch black, a bright ring visible around the sun. People moved about uncomfortably, trying to get their daily duties done. Not so easy in the dark. After a while the shadow began to pass, letting light back into the world. Then people finally decided to breath. Superstitious people. Walking down the street I got a multitide of strange looks from people. This was common. Not everyone has a dragon. Evertime I came into the village to buy supplies it was always the same amount of surprise. I guess that is because they thought I would be dead by now. Over my shoulder I grin as my companion trips up on a basket. I turn to help but he flings it to the side. It rolled in front of a queue of people, who turned from trying to barter with a merchant.

"Come on, it's best we don't linger. After all, this village is wary of what they call a 'drago'." Xero nudged me forth with humor in his voice. "Let's just get your things and be done with all of this nonsense."
    --------------------------------------------------

Up in the air I felt relief from getting away. "You have been alive much longer than me. What happens when the planets align?" I asked, calling over the roar of the wind.

"Well, lots of things. Humans worry too much. It never really affects them. It's more of an affect on beast or those who are inflicted with magic. It is a time of weakness, and a time of strength. This meaning some benefit from it. Others... Well, others tend to lose their minds for a short period of time. Strange to think that some petty planets far from here would ever have an effect on this sad little world." Xero commented. I wondered how it affected him, but thought better of asking.

"So, is it dangerous?" I asked this instead.

"It can be." He hesitated. "Some take advantage of the gains and loss of powers. I've seen kingdoms fall to those who gain more power during the event. I've even seen kingdoms rise. There is danger in it, yes." He said, sounding torn. "I guess we will wait and see."
    --------------------------------------------------

A few weeks later the time came. We waited, and nothing really happened. Though we lived secluded we lived near a main road, so the both of us figured that if something happened we would see it. Nothing.

The next day we cautiously went out. The village was quiet, not a soul to be seen. We landed, and stayed perched on the dragons back, wary of the quiet. All of the sudden a shriek sounded and a dragon burst through one of the windows, taking flight into the sky. This happened in every house, leading to a patch of sky blotted out with a cloud of dragons. Leaning close I whispered to Xero,"What is going on?"

Worried he shook his head. "I'm guessing this was the effect." When the dragons left, we searched every house. There were no signs of life, no signs of anything gory. No, the dragons were in the house. They never broke in. Then it hit me.

"They... They turned into dragons?" Dumbfounded I turned to my own, startled to see him so upset. "It's happened before hasn't it?" The look on his eyes gave me answer enough. "You were human?"

"That was a long long time ago." He said, his composure now fragile. "Come. I'll tell you everything."

Re: ★Dragon's 3 Word Stories★

Postby P_PixelNinja216 » Fri Apr 10, 2015 3:36 am

Nevriande asked me to write this over PM.

Three words: Horses of Utsasia

The plains shook with indescribable energy as the equines raced across it. There were hundreds of them, all galloping at a speed that threatened to whip Leonard's hat off his head. The young explorer crouched beneath the shrubbery, gazing at the horses with an expression of awe and wonder. He leaned forward, his chubby hands grasping the branches. Suddenly, Leonard slipped and he fell into the open.
The air was filled with startled whinnies. The horses started and several reared up in fear. Leonard gazed around happily, unaware of the turmoil he was causing.
One horse, a great gray stallion, gave a long whinny. The horses quieted down, and the stallion moved toward the front of the crowd to see the tiny human.
"Tren, what should we do?" one mare whinnied. "It's a... a human! That thing shouldn't be here!"
"Hush, Mae. I will resolve this situation," replied Tren, the stallion.
Tren bent his head and sniffed the young boy. Leonard giggled and clapped his pudgy baby hands together.
Done with his inspection, Tren raised his muzzle and addressed the crowd of horses. "He is but a child, a very young one at that. He won't be able to harm us."
The crowd breathed out sighs of relief, but one motherly mare gazed at the child with sad eyes. "But Tren, we can't just leave the poor thing here... he's defenseless," she whimpered.
Tren sighed. "Alright, Daffia. I understand your... concerns."
Tren turned to face Leonard, who was burbling happily.
"Welcome to Utsasia, little one."
