This Is War - 30 Seconds To Mars ;; theme song╔══════════════════════════════════════╗
Hello there! I am balto., a fellow member of
the foxerfly community as an owner. At the
current moment, I own three foxers -
Seiko,
Satoshi and
Nymphia,
with kits from Seiko and Nymphia on the way,
and I think this foxer would be the perfect
addition to my foxer family, as my last
adoptable foxer. Although I am not very active
in the fanclub, I can assure you that I would
care for this boy still, and not allow him to
collect dust - even if I don't draw him on CS,
I will in books during class and such.
I am apart of other communities, such as
Rainbow Paint Wolves, Delta Velorum Foxes,
Plumerian's, Jellybean Dragons, Jewel
Maned Dragons and Wilf Mountain Equids, and
I am regularly active with them on and off CS,
some more than others, but I love all my
characters.
Well, I think that's enough of my rambling, let's move
onto the form!
╚══════════════════════════════════════╝ going through the basics ;;
For my form, I have decided to go with the name of Calder-Aberforth for this foxerfly. Both of those are water related names, with meanings that relate to water - Calder means 'stream' while Aberforth means 'from the river'. His name was originally Aberforth, when he came to be - but after certain events happened to the poor foxer, he put Calder in front of his name - almost like a new identity, but he still holds Aberforth as his name, just hiding it from most. He does not accept any type of nickname at all. He is a male in my form, as I think that fits the design well, and he is known to be a straight foxer. He is 17 years of age, making him almost in adulthood, but he is still considered a teen for another year. His birthday is also unknown, as he does not like to tell others, for the fact that he does not want anyone to celebrate it, and him himself does not want to celebrate it, as it brings back bad memories for him. As for his talent and charm, he has not required them as of yet, but is sure to get them very soon. His charm would be a shark tooth, and as for his talent, he would have the talent of being able to communicate with underwater creatures - but rather then talk to them in his own language they use telepathic communication, through their thoughts and minds. Using this, he can send messages to and from other creatures of the underwater world, anything from sharks to shrimp.
╔══════════════════════════════════════╗
positive traits ;; observing - alert - protective
negative traits ;; untrusting - quiet - stubborn
╚══════════════════════════════════════╝ digging deeper ;;
Calder is a very observing foxer - he is always making sure that he knows of his surroundings, and that he is safe and cannot be harmed, and that there is nothing that can harm him. Or he observes other foxers - their daily lives and how they go about them. He usually tries to make it so that you don't know if he is watching or not. It interests him, how foxers that don't live in a tribe survive, and he tends to adapt to what he sees, which helps him get more used to his life how it is now. He is usually pretty silent, and the average foxerfly might find it a bit strange if he quietly watches them - especially if they don't know him, but one or two of his friends can describe it as normal for him.
This foxer can also be a bit alert of his surroundings, especially if he hasn't been around that place much. You never know when something might jump out at you, and that seems to be stuck in the males mind, no matter how much he is told that it is safe. He has to inspect the place himself to make sure that it is alright. It isn't that he is jumpy and afraid, but he would like to be ready if anything were every to jump out and attack, he wouldn't want to give his enemy the advantage of catching him off-guard. If anything, he would like to be ready so he could prove himself, so that he could prove that he wouldn't always need help when he might be in trouble, that he is strong enough to deal with his own problems.
Now, it may be hard for Calder-Aberforth to make friends, but when he does, and when he trusts you, you are considered a good friend to him and he will want to make sure you never get hurt - even if he knows that you might be able to take care of yourself, he will not give up and will always be there to defend you. He does not want to see his friends hurt, and he wants to actually have friends, like he had back in the tribe. But maybe he can become a bit too protective - not that he means to do it on purpose really, but he doesn't want his friends to get hurt, like he did when he was in the tribe - maybe is was selfish of him, but he doesn't regret it. Not one moment would he want to go back and change it, and it will be the same with his friends now.
If you aren't really Calder's friend, and if he has never spoken to you before, he wont be nice or anything. He may be a bit harsh when he talks - if he does. It takes a lot for him to trust someone, especially after the events that happened in his life. He does not want to come to terms with trusting others too quickly. While he does eventually come to trust other foxers as he gets to know them and such, it does not always happen, and he will usually judge on first appearance rather than get to know the foxer first, resulting in him not trusting many others. Sometimes he doesn't like that he is like this, but other times he doesn't really care. But once he gets to know you, and know you are good, he can be a loyal friend.
Now, along with being very untrusting of new and unknown foxers, Calder is also very quiet when they around, especially if it is first glance and they try to converse with him. He is more of a listener then a talker, and even then he doesn't really listen that much to others unless he knows them really well. He would rather not listen to strangers and just observe, or sit there in silence, not be around with annoying foxers who try to ask him question after question. Of course, he will speak up if you manage to annoy him enough - although that does usually take a while, as he is not so easily angered. He will also speak up if there is something he believes is right, and the others are ignoring this.
When Calder does get to know you, it isn't so bad, and he doesn't seem to be as bad as you might've originally thought, but it isn't all fun and games. If you want him to do something - he will not do it. Even if it is something simple, he will not do it. He does not like top do things for others, unless you are a really good friend or when he offers - which is only exclusive to his very close friends. But you should never try to order this guy around, he does not like it and will not take too kindly to it. If anything, his friendship with you, if there was any, will decrease, and you will have to make it up to him somehow for him to get to not dislike you again - but how you do that is currently unknown.
╔══════════════════════════════════════╗
Now, you're probably wondering why I am trying
for this guy, right? Well, apart from the fact that
I think he would be a good addition to my foxerfly
family, He would be my own special, as I haven't
really tried for a special numbered foxer before,
because of all the competition that usually
came with one. But when I saw this guy, with
his natural based colours and unnatural based
markings, I knew I had to try - I am a sucker
for those, as well as any sort of gradient or
airbrush on a design. I also find it fun to
develop sea-like designs, and I happen
to have another character who is based
off multiple sea creatures. When I was
developing my ideas, I fell in love with
the character I had created, and the history,
and I think it would be an honor to have this guy
go to me, although I don't deserve him anymore
then the next person. It was fun to develop my
idea, and I would love to get the chance to
develop it more.
╚══════════════════════════════════════╝ seen through closed eyes ;;
Calder-Aberforth was born into a tribe of foxers - far away from any of the foxers known today. He was born to a small family, having no sibling and just his two parents to look up to. Back then, his name was Aberforth. He had been a blessing, the first child to be born after many deadly winters, and surviving. But he was the first of many. Many of the tribe saw him as a lifesaver, the one to bring back their tribe from their certain demolish, so they looked at his as some sort of God - the God brought up from the river. They looked towards him, and many were thinking he would become the next tribe leader, despite him only being a kit!
And of course, young Aberforth did take advantage of some of this fame - getting away with things he did and being able to put the blame on others. Even like this, he did have some friends in the tribe, and some enemies. He was kid and respected his friends and the adults, especially the tribe elder, and the leader, as well as his parents, as it was for them that he became to be like this. From a young age he also happened to get his tail shaved by his parents - to be even more a step closer to his so called chosen 'destiny'.
He lived a good life in the tribe - it was short, but good. There is a time that comes for ever foxer in the tribe, and when they come of a certain age, they must embark on a journey. Details are never given, but they must search far and wide for the three hidden stones, it is called. Soon enough, it was Aberforth's turn to take the lead of a group, which contained his friends and some enemies that were his age. He bid farewell, along with the rest of the group, before they all took their way, starting their long journey.
This journey usually took a year or two, but Aberforth sped them up, certain they could break the record, many he was nearly right. Within seven months they were able to find two of the three hidden stones - a ruby and a emerald. Now they were hot on the trail for the sapphire, and by far one of the hardest stones to achieve, as myths said it was guarded by a creature of so much sheer strength and power, that it was almost impossible to get the stone, unless you showed this creature respect through the getting of the stone, and of leaving. Have no respect, and it was certain you wouldn't see the light of the next day.
Of course, the tribe elder told the group this before they left - that a creature would demand their respect, and they must give it. But Aberforth, he never believed in those so called fairytales that the wise foxer would tell, he told the others it was fake, and that nothing would harm them - every foxer that had gone on this journey before they had come back fine...but then again, they were never allowed to give out details of their journeys. So when they got there, to the deep, hidden cave this stone was hidden in, Aberforth told the others to wait outside - for he could get it himself, before going in. He wasn't scared.
Not yet, anyway.
He searched deep within the cave, finding no trace of the stone, and after an hour, he expressed his anger and kicked at the wall of the cave. That is what angered the mighty creature. It seemed to come out of no where, a reptilian type creature, walking on all fours with two large baring fangs, four large, piercing eyes, and claws the size of the average foxer itself. If Aberforth wasn't scared before, he was now. He tried to escape, but his attempts were in vain - the creature caught him, and without going into details, his screams of agony and terror ripped through the cave, and could be heard outside. His friends, who believed the myth, went in and sought out the creature and their friend, finding the creature eventually with only a bloody mess at his claws.
The friends pleaded to have their friend back, for they did not want to lose him, for he was a gift to their tribe and for the fact that they did not want to be left without the one who led them here. The creature had listened to their pleads and allowed them to take him, on only one condition, t which his friends reluctantly agreed to - the creature then took one of his paws as an offering, and told them that he would never get it back.
And so they journeyed back, wih the injured friend which took them three months. As soon as they arrived, everyone was astounded with the injuries Aberforth had sustained - they were infected, and he hadn't woken since getting them. The healer cared for him, allowing no one to see him, for almost an entire two months. The healer also replaced his paw, replicating the structure as best he could with scrap metal, although the fate he thought for the boy was worse.
After the two months, Aberforth awoke, almost clean of infection, and with the lost paw. The healer explained to him what happened, and then went and told the tribe leader. Least to say, the leader was not happy, not happy that he did not believe the elder, and show respect to the creature. Aberforth realised he was in the wrong, and tried to apologise, saying it would never happen again, but the leader cut him off, then the foxer banished him from the tribe, once he was ready to walk.
The head of the tribe then called everyone together, telling them what had happened, and that no one should show him mercy. Everyone shunned him from there on - even his own parents, their backs turned on him. Some of his friends still tried to be nice, but were punished time and time again until they began to order him around. That is what happened to Aberforth while healing, he was told to get up and he was ordered around like a slave for everyone. The only one who ever showed mercy for the next few months was the healer, who would never order him around, and tried to heal his injuries quicker so he wouldn't have to deal with this.
Soon enough, everyone was sick of having him there, and the leader wanted to have him executed, and it was planned. But the day before it was scheduled, both Aberforth and the healer left. The healer took him, to give him the best chance of escape, but the leader would not let them get away that easy, and sent hunters after them. The hunters chased the pair for months, and finally caught up, killing the healer, and giving Aberforth once again the chance to escape, but this time for good.
And so Aberforth ran...and ran, and ran, his paw slowing him down, but he never stopped, running and running for as long as he could, and only stopping when he knew he was safe. He was well out of tribe territory, and now he was in a forest...somewhere, strange. He didn't like it. He was glad to be safe, but it was for a cost, for the life of the one foxer who tried his best to help, the healer. And he would forever blame himself for the death of the other. He wondered through the forest, grief on my mind, when a noise was heard, and so he wandered closer - turning louder and into more different noises. He was exhausted, week, hungry. He would surely perish.
He then fell with a thud to the ground, ears ringing as his eyes closed, and his world faded to black.
He then awoke some time later, sore but not in as much physical pain. But he was no longer in the forest he entered, no, he was in a much stranger place. It reminded him of the huts at his old home, but it was...different. It was much more welcoming and didn't seem to be made out of mud and sticks. The only thing he knew here is that he was in a bed, although much comfy, bigger and well-framed then the ones he was used to, before he was an outcast.
The foxerfly then threw the covers up to reveal he was bandaged up, which was why he was sore because of all the wounds. His stump of a leg was more defined. Who had done this? He found out some time later, that a foxer by the name of Violette had found him, and with the help of others, taking him to her home to heal. He had been out for a few days, it seemed. The foxer who had found him told him herself. She seemed friendly enough, but Abrforth couldn't trust her so easily...not after everything he went through.
He stayed there for a few months, healing up, and he barely spoke to her. She did so much for him but he wasn't trusting her still. All she knew was his name, which was partly a lie - after much thought, he had added Calder to the front of his name, not wanting anyone to know how true identity. After a while of telling her his name, Aberforth began to see all the things she was doing for him...maybe she was someone he could trust? It seemed like it...maybe he should give it a try.
On the day he had begun to trust her, Violette came with good news - there was a doctor waiting for him in the living room, and the doctor had a surprise. So low and behold, he went out there to discover what it was - a paw? To recover his lost one? The doctor informed him that it was made specially to fit him, and could be used like he always had it, except for some certain tasks, which he listed down for the younger foxer. Calder-Aberforth was surprised and shocked by all of this, it was a lot to take in after all, but he accepted, and the paw was fitted into place - a perfect match. Which brings us to where he is now, a while from then, but still the same, and relying on Violette for help.
Now Calder looked complete...but he did not feel it. He was mentally broken, far from being complete again.

A warning to the people,
The good and the evil,
This is war.
To the soldier, the civilian,
The martyr, the victim,
This is war.
It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie,
The moment to live and the moment to die,
The moment to fight, the moment to fight
To fight, to fight, to fight!
╚══════════════════════════════════════╝ to swim or not to swim ;;
Calder stared at the mass of water that lay in front of him, seemingly harmless, but to him, it was everything. His eyes diverted uncertainly to his friend, Violette, who had taken the time to come today. She was sitting on the bank, waiting. She wanted him to get it, to do what he did best.
"I-I can't do it." Calder muttered, flicking his ears back as he looked at the water, he couldn't.
"How will we know if your paw works with water then?"
"That doesn't matter! I don't want to swim in water ever again!" Calder spat back bitterly, scowling. He hadn't meant to snap, but she didn't understand - after everything he had gone through before, he wanted nothing to do with water.
Violette didn't seem to mind, and she watched him with kind eyes. "Calder, maybe if you went in you could swim again and think different of water?"
"I doubt it."
The wasp-winged foxer then got up, giving her head a light shake before going to the waters edge. "Its not going to hurt you, Calder." She murmured. Calder seem to be sulking, so she gave a slight sigh, before spotting something in the middle of the river...what was that? It was almost in her grasp...maybe if she just reached over...
Splash!
Calder, who was lost in his own thoughts, was on alert as he heard a loud splash, and he turned his head, eyes widening. Violette had fallen in! The female was flailing in the water, and Calder lashed his tail, ready to jump in, but then he realized.
Water.
He stopped in his tracks, the teen watching as the flailing shape of his one friend seemed to be dragged deeper and deeper into the river. I can't do it.
But she needs help! Shes your friend!
He then shut his eyes tightly.
Do you want to disappoint and betray her like you have everyone else? Have her turn on you like almost everyone else did?
That thought clicked into his mind, and Calder growled a bit at himself. I don't.
Then help her! You're Calder-Aberforth, gift from the sea! You must do your destiny!
His eyes opened again, and with a growl rising from his throat, and without another moments hesitation, Calder leaped into the water. He had to help, he just had to. By now, Violette had reached the deepest part of the river, and seemed to be...sinking? That only made Calder push himself to go faster, His thrashing tail making it easy to slice through the water and get to the spot where Violette had now disappeared, and without hesitation Calder took a deep breath and went under, lashing his tail to help him go faster as he spotted her shape. Getting close enough, he then grabbed her, getting a firm grip before swimming up, kicking his legs and his tail helping along the way. His head then broke the surface, and he swam to shore, still holding onto the slightly bigger foxer, and resting her on shore before flopping down, panting.
"Good job Calder! You did it!"
He then rose his head to see Violette grinning down at him, soaking, but seemingly...proud?
"Heh, never thought you'd fall for that! And look, you swam really well. I may be clumsy but you actually did it."
Calder blinked his eyes, then realized and growled. "Why you-! I was worried!"
The purple foxer then gave a small smile. "Originally it wasn't even planned...but this is how it turned out. But you swam with the paw, you got over it, you can swim again!"
Calder went to argue with her, before looking down at his paws. She was right, he had swam with it, it hadn't affected hi, and he gave a small, but barely seen smile.
I did it.

╚══════════════════════════════════════╝ the ones who he can trust ;;Violette ;; the first friend ;; relationship - 9.5/10 - trustworthy ;; owned by Ravendarus
Ahh yes, the first friend that Calder made once he woken, and the foxer to actually take him in. Now, he didn't trust anyone at first, and she was no exception. Despite him being mean and harsh to her, she never turned her back and never gave up on him, and he seemed to realize that she was doing something...good. So he eventually came to trust her, and now, she is one of the friends he could trust almost anything with. He goes to her for most things, and he has learnt a lot about her - and has told her things that some others may never come to know, except for a few things he has decided to keep to himself. He is loyal to her, and despite still learning how to live like she and others do, he tends to try and help her out when he can, to make up for her kindness of caring for him.
Lintang ;; little magician friend ;; relationship - 7/10 - getting there ;; owned by aviate
This little guy, he met through another good friend of his, Nymphia. Calder can usually be amused by the smaller foxer, with his little magic tricks and such. He seems to like to just sit and talk with the younger one too, and find out how much different their young lives are - despite from the histories of both. Lintang seems to be able to show Calder new things, and he likes his little friend, and would defend him from any harm, although their relation could be better, that will have to come with time, although Calder does wish for his friend to not grow tat tall - so he isn't left behind as being left as short! He has told Lintang nothing of his past, and doesn't intend to.
Nymphia ;; the mind reader ;; relationship - 7/10 - getting there ;; owned by me
He met Nymphia just on the streets one day - he thought she was strange and wanted her away, but after a while he realized how much of a kind soul she was, like how Violette was, and let her into his shell. She was the one to adopt Lintang, and so she visits regularly, especially to check up on how he is doing, since her power can sense his negative thoughts. She is one he can sometimes go to and voice his troubles to, depending on the trouble and how bad it is. There is still a fair bit of a way to go before he can go ahead and tell her the majority of it, and maybe even a bit of his past, but for now he doesn't let her know too much - no matter how worried she may seem sometimes.
