The she-cat shrugged a shoulder to Coldcry. Foxpaw was right. The clans depended on each other. Destruction to one would come destruction to all.
"Perhaps you're wiser than most of us, young cat. That Sunclan Deputy looked as hot headed as ever. I wouldn't be surprised if he had started a scrap with some cat right there at the gathering. Good thing his littermate always seems to have one set of unsheathed claws pointed at him." She paused for a moment, focusing on filing into the camp with the others, then spoke again. "The clans need each other to exist, but that is where it stops." She grumbled. "Dark days are upon us, that is the least of times to make friends with the Sunclan flea bags." She spat.

Redstar

Redstar's now mud soaked feet were glued to the spot. She wasn't sure whether she actually wanted to enter the den.
"Mintpaw, I-" She was stopped by the arrival of Armadillotumble. The scent of his fear soon mixed with that of the blood.
"Armadillotumble, you weren't in camp with Poppystem, were you..." She realized, and slunk forward a few steps until she was standing at the mouth of the den. Squinting her eyes through the rain that pattered down, she made out the shape of a cat sprawled across a nest. The leader ducked, and approached Flameheart. Her paws splashed in the water that seemed to be leaking in from the roof and she stood over her Deputy's mangled body in horror.
"Oh, Starclan." She huffed, bending her head and pressing her nose to his sticky forehead. Pulling back at the feel of blood on her nose, Redstar grimaced when her eyes adjusted to the dim light and she realized it was not water she stood in, but more blood.
I'll kill the cat who did this. She vowed.
"This should be cleaned up," She meowed. Pricking her ears, she could hear the rain easing off. "He'll need to be moved to the clearing so that cats can say their goodbyes." She wasn't sure who she was talking to, or if any of the others had even followed her in, for she couldn't stop staring at the scene.

Rainpaw

Rainpaw walked along side Lichenfoot, listening to her explanation with wide eyes. He flattened his ears, and the thought of Starclan punishing the Emberclan Deputy with such a cruel death seemed so... Unlike them. As a kit he was always taught that Starclan showed mercy. His thoughts whirled around in his mind an he snapped out of it when the she-cat asked him a question.
"Y-yes. I mean, I understand. He betrayed us." His whiskers twitched as they always did when he was uneasy, but he knew Lichenfoot must know best. If that's what his mentors in the Dark Forest thought, it must be true. Mapleshade always said they were training to help their clan become powerful. He opened his mouth again.
"He had to be punished."

Tallstorm

Tallstorm snorted and disappeared into the treelike after the other Sunclan cats. His tail tip twitched as he caught up with Flickergaze and her littermate. His eyes followed the direction of her gaze and he raised an eyebrow at Rainpaw, who was speaking with Lichenfoot urgently.
"Lichenfoot seems to have taken a liking to your apprentice..." He pointed out, his voice hushed so that no other cat would hear their conversation.

Ravenclaw padded back into camp. He looked up, and saw that the clouds were beginning to slip away.
Perhaps Starclan just wanted the gathering to end, he thought. As he crossed the clearing, he noticed that Shorestar was perched on her rock.
"What's going on?" He asked, turning and approaching the base of the boulder and looking up at her.

Tigerclaw

Tigerstar stormed into the camp ahead of the others, arriving roughly along with the Leader. She wore a scowl on her face, and instead of heading in to dry off, she began to pace along the entrance of the Warriors den.
These cats have no sense. My brother has no sense. She glared up at Ravenclaw, as he spoke with Shorestar. Why was Shorestar on the Highrock? Wasn't the gathering enough? With a roll of her eyes the ragged Warrior lumbered over.
"Another meeting?" She meowed?

armadillotumble shook his head every so slightly. no. i was out gathering herbs...is that flameheart? his reply turned into a question as he followed redstar. he laid his ears back as he realized how angry redstar was. nevermind. me and mintpaw will get her cleaned up. mintpaw, meet me at the medicine cat den, he ordered, sweeping past his leader. he slung flameheart over his shoulder and turned to pass redstar. he stopped beside her. i'm sorry, redstar. i promise i will help you avenge flameheart. even if it involves death, armadillotumble muttered darkly in her ear, then pushed past her. he made his way to his den, plopping flameheart down in a nest. his body was as cold as ice. he turned to mintpaw. okay mintpaw, lets get him ready, armadillotumble said nonchalantly. he moved quickly, grabbing rosemary, mint, and a few other herbs to make flameheart smell better. he sat beside the dead body in silence, giving mintpaw a few herbs to rub on flameheart. armadillotumble worked on the dead tom's upper half while mintpaw worked on the bottom half.

Just awhile ago it seemed that the Deputy was perfectly healthy but after tonight, there was really no hope. "

Shorestar looked down at her deputy as he approached. "We need to discuss what has happened. As a Clan." Her cool, green eyes were determined yet full of worry. If something like this could happen in EmberClan, there was nothing that said it couldnt happen in SunClan too.

Fogslip approached the highrock, silently listening to Shorestar and the Claw siblings. She glanced back over her shoulder at the entrance to camp to see if any other cats had arrived yet. They had not, though she could hear them in the forest- their pawsteps and voices mixing among the leaves on the trees.

Tumblebrush saw his patched leader heading out and to camp. Standing to his paws, he gently nudged Poppystem to her paws, nodding gratefully to Mintpaw for her help. "Lets get you back." He mewed softly to the elder as he supported her trembling frame.
Poppystem only nodded, holding her bad leg up off the ground slightly as she walked forward. "I couldn't do anything to save him..." She whispered softly, eyes glazed over in shock as her son helped her to her feet.
"I know..." Tumblebrush tried not to think about the dead deputy as he and Swiftspirit's lead Poppystem out of the clearing.

Pipitpaw glanced at Wolfpaw curiously for a second before catching his meaning. "Yeah, it's going alright. My mentor is teaching me new stuff every n- er, day." The tabby never talked about his training with Frozenpool and so wasn't used to keeping it discrete. He looked around and lowered his voice. "I'm glad they took care of that traitor, though." His voice was quiet but also low in a threatening way.

Mintpaw sighed and dipped her head in goodbye to Redstar. She whipped her head around at the sound of her mentors voice and nodded as she slowly followed her mentor into their den. she watched Armadillotumble gathering Rosemary and mint. Herbs to hide the sent of death... she thought sadly while she turned towards two other herbs she had discovered where good for masking the sent of death "Should we use Lavender and Watermint aswell?" she asked with a quick glance at her mentor as she pawed at the purple lavender flowers then the Watermint leaves.

armadillotumble nodded slightly. sure mintpaw. he replied. instead of returning to another gloomy silence, he spoke again. its a shame that he had to die. he was a pretty good friend of mine. flameheart was a great cat -- very brave. he should have lived. armadillotumble murmured, ears flicking. he took a few of the lavender and watermint leaves from her. he stood up and walked to the entrance of the cave. krestlenose, if you want to help, you can come rub these leaves on flameheart, armadillotumble called to krestlenose. he looked back at mintpaw. i'm going to talk to redstar. he said, walking out of the den and up to krestlenose. the tom handed the warrior the leaves and nodded towards redstar. may i speak with you in your den, redstar?

Mintpaw nodded " I'll stay in here and clean up." she meowed quitely. Mintpaw padded over to one of the messy piles and spread it out, she noticed that the majority of the scattered pile was made up of borage, she started by plucking out the few tansy leaves that had gotten mixed in. She then hooked the few willow leaves in the pile onto her claw and piled them together, finally she picked out the few remaining juniper berries that had also gotten mixed in by acceident. Once she had finished that she gently placed the borage back in its proper place and returned the the willow and juniper berries back to their main piles. Mintpaw noticed that the tansy leaves where wilting so she scooped them up and brought them out of the den, she carried them not to far out of camp and crumpled them up in hope that the nutrients they left behind would create good soil for new herbs to grow in next greenleaf.

Redstar backed out of the blood strewn Medicine den and into the clearing, sitting directly in the middle with her tail wrapped around her paws and stared blankly out into the forest past the barrier. She barely noticed several questioning stares from the others. Her muzzle and paws were still matted with blood from seeing Flameheart.
Strangely, she felt quite emotionless at that moment, and jumped slightly at Armadillotumble's approach. She looked down, eyes glazed at the siamese tom.
"Oh, yes, of course," She mumbled, standing and starting towards her den which was a large outcove in a pile of boulders, the entrance shielded by hanging tendrils of Ivy from an oak that loomed above the camp ([url ]Like this, but more Ivy in front [/url]). "In here," She used her tail to part the Ivy and make way for the Medicine cat.

Ravenclaw only nodded in agreement, knowing that Shorestar was right. However, he flashed Tigerclaw an annoying glance as she clearly rubbed in his face what he had disagreed to earlier. Perhaps he was being a bit... Immaure, about the Clan's rivalry.
