[[I've had a very busy time as of late; winter break starts this saturday, so I'm looking forward to that. . . I'm returning to my third-person roots. I have a bit of a writer's block and not very much time, but I've managed before with those circumstances.
Also, I hope you enjoy your "birthday present," Fae. :3
Thank you for controlling that when Tink and I didn't, willowpelt; I appreciate that.
Welcome back, Fairy -- glad that you could post. At least you'll be able to enjoy other things in life now, since you won't be posting quite as often. . .]]

Gathering
It took no less than three racing heartbeats for Pebblestar to whirl around to face Bloodstar so quickly that her eyes were manic with dizziness. Either that or she was becoming just as insane as Ashfeather. The latter seemed more likely, Bloodstar mused as he analyzed the crazed twinkles in the two AirClan cats' eyes. Appears that crazy is spreading. . . "Ha! Bloodstar, you have failed my little test!" The other leader practically shrieked; her tone was so shrill, he was tempted to curl his tail over his ears. But. . . "Little test?" What in StarClan -- the Place of No Stars seemed too long for him to think due to the rapid sucession in which Pebblestar uttered the mad words -- was she referring to? Somehow, it only made her appear even more mouse-brained to Bloodstar. "Am I not fit to be a leader am I?" Yes, definitely crazy. Her speech itself was barely coherent, if you could understand it at the rate she was spewing the nonsense that continued flowing freely from her mouth like a gushing river. "You see, Bloodstar, I knew you would burst with anger when those words left my mouth! Go home, Bloodstar! There is no more quarrel here! Just go home! This is over NOW!" Since when did the leader of AirClan gain such a boost in confindence, as well as a backbone in order to attempt to assert any kind of authority with Bloodstar? He highly doubted that she had even planned the next sentence while mewling her earlier words, let alone consider the effect they would have. Pebblestar was devising her actions with just as much forethought as her fellow leader, Bloodstar, was. "Or I will show you what this unfit to be leader can do!" The stone-gray she-cat added, almost like an afterthought. Of course, that would require actually engaging in the process of forming a thought, and everyone old enough to catch their own prey knew that that was way above Pebblestar -- or at least how the white tom-cat she was challenging assumed they did.

Somehow, Pebblestar's mindless speech didn't fan the flames of Bloodstar's anger. If anything, they muted them; his automatic approach of using logic to degrade a foolish or inferior cat forced him to hold his tongue and inspect the situation with an expert's eye, scrutinizing every detail to use against his opponent. Seldom known by anyone other than him, Bloodstar could not often resist a word battle -- he loved arguments, as much as they infuriated him. If only he could wriggle around his temper long enough to consider a sentence or two to arm himself with.

But of course, Bloodstar never found the chance to whittle a few scars into one of his more unimportant rivals with his sharp wit, for on that very night StarClan decided to intervene. As he parted his jaws to respond to Pebblestar's "challenge," his ancestors twisted his words around and shoved them back down his throat, where they stuck and pricked his vocal chords like the barbs of a medicinal herb -- painful, but part of a greater cause. Manipulated and unwilling, the broad-shouldered leader of FireClan meowed in a calm, almost hypnotic voice as if he were in a trance, "Fine." That wasn't all; StarClan had more plans than that. "This won't happen again. I'll see you next Gathering." With that and a flick of his snowy tail, Bloodstar turned around and signaled with another lash of his tail and a tilt to his ears before padding away a few steps toward the edge of the clearing with paws that were not his own. He paused, infuriated once more; being made a slave in his own body was indignifying and only made Bloodstar's crossness even more unbearable -- not like he could do anything about it. It could have been worse. StarClan had been remarkably tame when they selected the words that their pawn would say aloud, albeit against his will. Nonetheless -- the next time he had the misfortune of visiting StarClan, he would have to give his brother a very stern talking-to. Whiteblaze and the others playing mind-puppet was not helping his helpless feeling one bit. Neither did their next line, announced into existence by his own betraying tongue. "Ashfeather, I apologize for my reckless behavior tonight. I was being a fool, not you." How much Bloodstar wanted to bite that tongue off!

Humiliated but helpless, Bloodstar silently waited for his Clan to gather around him, smoldering inside unbeknownst to anyone among the living.

FireClan
Mudpae looked at his leader shocked. Bloodstar was known for his short temper but what he said was out of character. Shaking his dark brown head slightly in confusion, he padded over to his leader.

( .Fae., all of my posts had more then 3 sentences, so please don't be mad at me.)

Path to Airclan/ Gathering

Pebblestar bowed her head. She knew, of all cats, that that voice was not Bloodstar's. His apology was so calm and flat it sounded hypnotic, and for all she knew, it probely was. Not daring to to even look at the white Tom, she spun around and waved her tail for Ahsfeather to follow. She was in no mood for talking. She started running on the soft grass. Her mind went some where else. She had no idea if Ashfeather was even behind her or where she was going. All she knew, was that she was headed home. The sweat smell of grass and flowers filled her nostrills. The voice of "Bloodstar" still rang in her head. Shurly that had not been him speaking. It had come from an older, wiser cat. She was firmly convinced. Her haze of thought was interrupted by her pad hitting a sharp stone. Wincing, she stopped and pulled out the rock. Only then did she notice where she was. She had ran so far, she was almost home! Her breath came in fast gasps for air. Using a small amount of power, she pushed fresh air into her lungs and looked up. Ashfeather was no where in sight. "Ashfeather!?" she called out into the dark.

Name: Honeydew
Gender: Female
Age: 12 moons
Clan: Waterclan
Rank: warrior
Mentor/Apprentice: None... unless an apprentice needs a mentor?
Kin: No one
Mate: Nope
Kits: None
Appearance: A golden she-cat with inky black leopard spots on her silky fur, they ripple when she moves. Honeydew has a long, fluffy tail but short hair on the rest of her body, except it grows a little shaggier on her cream belly and chest. Her eyes are a pale mint green that stand out against the gold of her fur.
Personality(Optional): She is a sweet she-cat who wouldn't harm a fly, and loves the company of other cats. She is a fairly good swimmer and skilled at catching fish for the clan.
History: Nothing much here.
Do you promise to follow the warrior code?: Of course I do!

Name: Pinetail
Gender: Male
Age: 14 moons
Clan: Earthclan
Rank: Warrior
Mentor/Apprentice: None
Kin: None
Mate: Nope
Kits: No
Appearance: A striking tabby-tortoishell tom with every possible fur colour in his semi-longhair coat. On his muzzle and on his chest and belly the fur is satiny and white, as is the tip of his tail. His eyes are a warm, buttery amber in colour.
Personality(Optional): He is a bit of a rebel, doesn't outright break the warrior code but hints that it wouldn't be too hard for him. He doesn't like following rules and is pretty reckless, but when it comes down to it he is a good cat, just bored with his life. He would save any cat in trouble, no matter what it would cost him.
History: His mother was killed in battle when he was young.
Do you promise to follow the warrior code?: I guess.

(Happy belated birthday, Mango! Why didn't you tell us? *grumbles to self* Featherkit and Ravenkit are now five moons, so they're not quite apprentice age, but five moons is when they start discovering their powers. ;D
Your cats are accepted, Believing. Thanks for joining! You look very literate so far. x3 I'm excited. As for a small recap, a Gathering just ended, so all the cats are on their way home now.)

FireClan/AirClan
Nightfire narrowed her eyes as Bloodstar backed away, muttering words of apology. Pebblestar also padded away without another word. Something was not right. The black she-cat glanced at Ashfeather, who also appeared stunned by the sudden change of scene. Nightfire padded over to her silver friend, keeping one eye on Bloodstar. "There's something wrong with this picture," Ashfeather whispered, her blue eyes gazing off in the direction of the FireClan leader. "I know," Nightfire whispered back. There was silence for another moment before Ashfeather sighed and looked at the ground. "I'm sorry I got you into this," she murmured sheepishly. Nightfire managed a small smile. "Don't worry about it. I've been wanting to do that for ages." The silver tabby cat also smiled gently and looked up at her night-pelted friend. It appeared as though she wanted to say something, but Nightfire spoke first. "I'll keep an eye on him." She gestured towards the awaiting Bloodstar with a jerk of her head, and Ashfeather nodded silently. "You had better get going." Ashfeather nodded once more in agreeance and turned to pad away. She looked back once more, her blue eyes plaintive. Nightfire smiled and shook her head. Go on, she encouraged silently. As if she could read Nightfire's mind, Ashfeather dipped her head and jogged off into the tall grass of AirClan territory.

Ashfeather stared at the rapidly-changing ground in front of her as she dashed across the grasslands. She hoped Nightfeather wouldn't be too worried about her. He had no reason to be. Then the matted wound Bloodstar's claws had left in her shoulder began to sting and burn, causing the AirClan cat to wince. Okay, maybe Nightfeather had reason to be worried. The gash wasn't that bad, it had just gotten some dirt in it. Yes, that was all. Ashfeather silenced her thoughts by looking in front of her and trying to concentrate on the run home. "Ashfeather!" Her leader's faint yowl startled the silver cat, especially because Pebblestar was nowhere in sight. Sound travels well on the plains, Ashfeather rationalized, trying to calm her now-racing heartbeat. Or maybe she's just at the bottom of a nearby hill and I can't see her. There were so many possibilities in the confusing territory AirClan called home. As she came over a rise, Ashfeather spotted her leader not far ahead. She ran faster, trying to reach Pebblestar in good time.

SunClan
Sunstar dug his claws into the ground upon halting his run. There was a new scent. And a new cat. There in front of the golden-pelted leader stood Foxflame the FireClan cat looking very startled. What was he doing here? Sunstar felt rage bubble up inside him as he took a step toward the ginger tabby. Foxflame must have seen the anger in the leader's expression, because he took a step backwards and began to stutter. "I-I was just-I mean I-" Sunstar, too tired to care, wasn't about to listen to Foxflame's stuttered "explanations."

LeafClan
Berrykit gazed anxiously out of the camp entrance, waiting for her clan to come home from the Gathering. If anyone else in camp was awake, they had stayed in their dens. The small, pale kit was alone in the dappled shadows created by the trees that gave her clan its name. Leafshadow would be home soon, she hoped. Berrykit missed her big brother. If she could convince him, maybe he would tell her about the Gathering.

(( Yay!!! *serious face* Does anyone have a free cat to interacft with Honeydew or Pinetail? ))

Water Clan

Honeydew padded alongside the river, her pale green eyes dancing over the waters as they plaited themselves into the thick trees and long grasses. Her paws drifted to the sides, letting the cool river flow under and around them, saturating the fur and slicking it down. The very end of her tail, soft and black, dipped lazily down to swirl behind her in the water. She loved the way it felt; the way it caressed the dirt from her pink skin and tossed it away in the current, the way the cool, rounded stones shifted under her paw-pads. Honeydew was born for swimming, with a long, tall, slender body and subtle muscles that twisted under her short, soft golden fur. Between her toes was slight pink webbing that made it easy for the she-cat to slide through the water, just like she was doing now, slipping in further and further with long smooth strokes. With a final strong kick, she couldn't touch the bottom, the cool water swirling around her with gentle swishing noises, it tickling her chin in little slapping sounds.

Earth Clan

Pinetail stopped to absently sniff at a curled brown mushroom with flaring gills and a green underbelly, patting at it with a black paw, watching how the fungi bounced back and forth. His patchwork coat gleamed, catching bits of light and throwing it carelessly away again as he paced towards Earthclan camp.[/color]

(I have a couple of cats, Believing. I'd also like to mention that your posts are very impressive so far. Wonderful description. ^-^)

WaterClan
Rainstar glanced back at Kestrelpaw approvingly before turning her gaze to her silver-striped deputy once more. "Everything will be just fine, Silvertail. I think that's enough discussion for one night." With those words to end the conversation, the river-pelted leader slowed her jog to look around her and take an account of her clanmates to make sure none of them had gotten left behind.

Rivertail stared down at his dark blue paws with tired yellow eyes. Suddenly, he heard splashing. His ears pricked up, followed by the rest of his head. They were near the river that separated WaterClan and AirClan territory, but a cat had to be crazy to venture into the water at such a time! Then Rivertail recognized the flashy golden coat of Honeydew. A smile crept to his face, revealing one sharp fang. It made sense that the cat to go swimming in leaf-fall in the middle of the night would be Honeydew. The blue-gray tom had the urge to join her. The water would be chilly, but it might feel nice after the stifling intensity of the Gathering. With a few quick bounds, Rivertail had splashed in behind her, drenching both himself and his clanmate.

EarthClan
Earthpaw stumbled along beside who he thought was Emberclaw. Did it really matter who he walked by? The intoxicating image of Stormpaw was still etched into the inside of his eyelids. As he daydreamed about his meeting with the gorgeous young she-cat, he didn't notice that he was walking straight into Pinetail. The scatter-brained apprentice smacked into the tortoiseshell tom's back leg and was sent tumbling backwards onto the ground in a heap. "Ouch," he muttered, placing one earthen paw on his forehead.

SunClan
Sunstar's golden paw came down on the ground with a thud, causing both Foxflame and Flowerface to flinch. "Get. Out. Of. My. Territory!" He spoke each word deliberately as if it was its own sentence until he found himself shouting. "I'm sorry, I just-" Sunstar interrupted Foxflame's muttered excuses. "You just what? You just wanted to take advantage of my clan in its weakened state? Get out, I say!" Flowerface seemed to regain her presence of mind after the initial shock of Sunstar's appearance. The pale ginger she-cat padded carefully up to her mate. "It's okay," she murmured so that only Sunstar and a few nearby SunClan cats could hear. "I let him in. He only wanted to see your daughter." Sunstar met the medicine cat's calm amber eyes and let himself mull this new information over. So Foxflame only wanted to see Petalsong, eh? "They are mates, after all," Flowerface reminded him. His daughter... Sunstar let out a great sigh, very fitting for such a noble leader. "Alright then. Get back to your own territory, Foxflame." The nervous flame-pelted tom dipped his head to the leader and started to back away towards the rear entry of camp. "Ask next time," Sunstar added, shooting a meaningful glance in Foxflame's direction. The tabby nodded obediently and turned tail, pelting across the meadow towards the thickly forested LeafClan territory.

Silvertail growled and continued along at Rainstar's pace. She wanted to get some sort of soothing talk that would assure her everything would be alright. That she didn't have to worry about all the things that might and probably would happen to all of them. Silvertail stared at her paws the whole way, a scowl sticking on her face as she watched her paws scuff up the dirt and move the weeds that popped from underneath the damp ground.

Air clan

Pebblestar saw Ashfeather out in the distence. She ran fowerd to greet her. As she waited for Ashfeather to ceatch her breath she said, "There is no point trying to catch up with the rest of the clan, they are two far behind, they will be able to find their own way back. We might as well go strait home." Her ice blue eyes sparkeled like two clear blue pools of water. Her voice kept the same hard flat tone as she added, "Your a smart cat, Ashfeather, you probely know, just as well as I do, that Bloodstar did not speak those last words himself. That cat has never none such a calm tone...." She trailed off. Then she gave a wip of her head and got up. "That mouse-brained cat can do whatever he wants." Her tail slash wildly behind her. "It's not my problem." She then started walking towerd the grassy hill that was her home.
