While I'm not entirely sure if this has been suggested before so apologies if I am bringing something up previously posted before, however I know many people whom would love this.
My suggestion here is for a notifications/tag system to be added to the forums. It is basically something that alerts someone should someone quote them or types @(insert their user here). All too many times I myself and others have been replied too or talked to in a thread, and if their busy or pre-occupied it's all too common to never even see or notice.

It's been suggested before c: it's still a no for me, C.S. Is not facebook. Popular users and Comfy Cushion Overlords would be spammed by this tag system.
Ah, mistake on my part then x3
Fair point, I think if this were to even be considered there would have to be some sort of regulation to this or limit to the amount of times a user can tag a particular person.

I think it would be useful if a user could be notified if someone quoted a post they made, in case it was a reply to a question they asked and forgot about, or a question about their post, etc.
If a user doesn't want to receive notifications, there could be an option to turn it off.
I don't really support the tagging feature, though.
