Position/Specific details you want? Him walking and smiling. Perhaps casting a look behind him, that´s up to you. Make him cover up enough of the canvas so that his accessories are clearly visible, please.
Background choice? Could you draw him walking up the gangplank to the pirate ship? The gangplank itself can just be plain wood. I would like a bit of the ocean and sky to be visible, too.
