Talk about what? wondered Clara, but she was pretty sure she already knew. "Okay," she said. Clara gently threw the ball at Finny, hoping she wouldn't injure her. "Is this alright?" she asked.

Finny, who was very short, managed to catch the ball by jumping upwards a little bit. "Yep. It's fine. Stings a little, but it's fine. I really need to start using my hands more." She said as she tossed the ball back to Clara.

matthew //
Matthew stood up, his face apathetic, even though he knew that he was horrible at basketball. He knew this was going to happen, of course he knew. He always knew these kinds of little things. However, he would have to stick with this and find a partner to work for. Matthew glanced around, looking for his partner.

Clara nodded, catching the ball. She tossed it to Finny, asking, "So... what was all that about? You know, Jace in the cafe?" Clara frowned. "I mean, I know I should just let it go, but honestly... what was up with that?"

Finny repeated the throw-and-catch pattern absentmindedly while speaking. "I dunno, Clara. It's weird..He doesn't burn, he doesn't like water..he's like..fire or something, I don't know. But that's not possible, right?"

Clara bit her lip, not wanting to turn down that possibility. "What if, you know, some people had... I dunno, powers or something. People who were a bit different, and could do things that most humans can't." Clara shrugged. As she threw the ball again, Clara saw her palm begin to turn grey a bit; the storm was coming back. Stop it, thought Clara, even though she couldn't prevent the colour change in her hand.

A slightly nervous smile spread over her face. "W-why would you suggest that, Clara? I mean, it's not possible, it-it would have to alter the genetic code, and then there would be serious mutations and..and.." Her voice trailed off. "Clara?"

scatty saw a boy (matthew ) on his own and picking up a ball with her hands she walked over to him unsure that he want to throw and catch the ball with a girl asking "hay, wanna partner up with me?"

Clara saw her chance and took it. "But what if it is... possible? What if, say, the rainstorm earlier stopped because someone made it stop? And Jace's coffee didn't burn him because he didn't let it burn him. Finny... what if those people couldn't control their powers. What if I was one of those people?" After years of hiding her secret, Clara felt tears prick her eyes. I've never told anyone... ever. How do I know that this is the right time? But if I don't say anything, how will I ever find anyone like me?
