Rauchfell gulped, glancing at the tom beside her. She nuzzled him comfortingly, before looking back at Stormstar.

"Brackenscar?" His smile instantly vanished, standing up, "What's he doing?"

"We were resting under a pine near the bracken trail and he appeared.." Rauchfell gasped for breath, heaving heavily. ".. He did nothing.. He stood and stared.." She gulped, tail tucked between her legs.

Brackenscar huffed, lashing his tail. He guessed his 'innocent' appearence trick hadn't work. Anyway, that she-cat looked familiar. The tom shrugged it off, padding back into the bracken and ignoring it tangle with his matted clumps of fur.

"Wait.... Who's Brakenscar? Was he that tom back there?" Greenleaf took a step forward, concerned.

Rauchfell sighed. She'd have to tell him. "Brackenscar is a loner who left StormClan moons ago. We were mates, but when he fell out with Stormstar over a petty little thing and asked me to run away with him. I rejected his offer, and due to my loyalty I was made deputy. I hadn't seen him since then. Thought he'd be crowfood by noq." She huffed.

"Just... Stood there?" he echoed, surprised, "I ask that we raise the frequency of patrols, and that you set one up just before moonhigh. If things get too rough... I'm sorry, but we'd have to remove him in any way possible."

Lace was found after roaming through the thick foliage, mumbling to himself before realizing he had company. "What?" he asked in an unfriendly tone.

After going back to get the herbs, Greypaw stored them in their rightful places. He took in a deep breath, the smell of nature was soothing to him. Stepping outside, the tom passed the warrior's den. He happened to catch Bluefeather's eye and stopped. "Hello, Bluefeather." He greeted.

Rauchfell shook her head. "Do what you like. I'm no longer his mate and he's a traitor." She stood with a plain expression.

Brackenfur paused, holding his breath as he caught ths scent of a male. "...Are you from a Clan..?" He asked cautiously.
