A dead thing my master made me...yet she was as bright and alive as the stars we watched in the sky.
At first, I thought she was a dream from Tauren...he often likes to play with our minds, we the creations of Burague.
Yet...she did not grow...did Tauren's creations also become flawed?
I had thought my disease a curse from my master, a sadistic little flaw given to a living creature made as a dead one.
It made me wonder, so I hunted down Arson and asked him about her.
He looked at me, blinked, and told me softly: "She is not one of my master's creations...If any, she belongs to Marsol.
Why ask me, little one? Run along, go play as puppies do. Do not trouble yourself with the affairs of the Gods."
I obeyed him, as one must obey the Male Messenger to Tauren. Still, my heart wondered.
...it is not so bad, to be cursed to be forever young.
At least I have eternity to spend with her.

Aradia was the "devil" of the pack and Jacob was her only friend. He found her when they where both just teens, and brought her back to his pack, Ninja Pack. Aradia was shunned from the start, but Jacob stayed true to her, and later became Alpha and asked her to be his mate. Now they are the best Alpha's in the pack's history.

The silence of the laboratory was broken by a muffled curse, the slam of a fist onto a table and the crackle of the paper being crushed within the angry grip.

"Not enough water, too much of the wrong kind of power in it."

Eventually, the fingers - light fur covering their bony forms - loosened, and he sighed, looking at his works with the closest thing to defeat the young man had seen in his six months of service in his eyes.

"Something's in the air, my materials are reacting violently against it. I'll have to move this all somewhere else..."

He had been rummaging the drawers of the second table in the wide room when the outburst had come, and by now he was reaching over the older man's shoulder and deftly taking the crumpled notes from his hand. Pulling a stray stool towards the wider desk and perching on the edge, he smoothed out the paper, barely glancing over them before he took the failed solution. It was a dark shade of red, and with a twist of his fingers the liquid sloshed in the newly-bought glass bottle, leaving behind the slightest stain.

"That's highly acidic," he pointed out with a sideways glance. "If you drop it and it spills on you, you'll be regreting it."

With a shrug Daniel replaced it beside the empty bottles, all of them looking like something you might take a nice drink of cream soda from, instead of something that would burn through your throat if you drank it. Resting his shoulders on the edge of the wood, the young man stared at the small flames of the candle that illuminated the workspace, his chin resting on his hands. His look was a mix of boredom and homesickness - he missed the simple things; those marvelous little candies they sold in London and the fresh smell of a winter morning outside this dismal building. He regretted never visiting his family on his trips through his home city.

"You're a bothersome boy, you know that?"

"Far too well."

Written as anthros, obviously. Just as obviously, they're both somewhat based off of a wonderful video game that I doubt anyone here plays (since I haven't quite finished it, this is probably even less related to it than I think.). Daniel signed a contract to work as Alexander's assistant for three years in return for the older man reccomending his assistant for a very large job - the salary of which would have him financially set for life. Obviously he's half a year through, it's Christmastime, and he's sick of the building that the potion maker's holed himself into... and the potion maker himself. For the record, Daniel is an archaeologist, and Alexander's a Baron of Brennenburg, a potionmaker, and... well, a tad mentally unstable.

In fact, I'm actually older than her. Not by much, no--not at all. Doesn't effect anything either; I still like her and she still likes me. I think she's the only lion/ess out there that doesn't care that I have PPS. I'm the pride leader's son. I'm supposed meant to be a man, a pure-hearted great leader. Even I believed that I could be that great clan leader.

The one that little kids look up to and say, "That's who I'm going to be!"

But now that evidently I've tapped into the fountain of youth, I can't be the clan leader. I can never be anything of worth in this clan. In fact, everyone held a protest to kick me out of the clan--but Alyssa stood by me the entire time, whispering that it would be okay. She told me that I was the direct incarnation of Achilles--which I didn't know quite how to perceive.

She's growing up. Her mind is changing.

She's going to start thinking like them, I just know it. She's going to say that I'm inferior and a disgrace to the pride.

But really, I think I'm just the opposite. I'm the smartest guy here. I'm funny, I'm likable, and obviously full of myself... Haha.
Alyssa is starting to hang out with Percy a lot now. I know that they're going to be... matched.

Oh, Miraku, have I not told you yet...?

In my clan, we have a matching system. Children who were born in the same year are matched with other's from the same litter. I was going to be matched with someone, but then I was diagnosed with you-know-what.

It's a terrible system. But generally people just ignore it and go after who they love. Sometimes, people never find anyone. I'm a case in point.

But it's so clear to me that they'll be matched. Just great, right Miraku?

Alyssa kissed me today.
But I know it didn't mean anything.
She's marrying Percy in 3 weeks.

She cheated on him.
It was a farewell kiss.
She said it was 'too bad' that we weren't matched. I don't know what's come over her.

I think she likes me, Miraku. I really do.

I usually don't write entries so soon after another, but this is sort of an emergency... Miraku, Percy led a protest to kick me out of the clan. He found out that Alyssa kissed me.

It wasn't pretty.

I decided to leave peacefully. I couldn't take all of the lions in the pride at once--not even with my words.
Hey, Mir, you remember the saying sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me...?
Well, I think I caught on a little late, but that saying isn't true.

Percy called me a self-centered, dirty-little-thief of a man who should be the Devil's advocate.

I didn't know that he actually loved her, Miraku. I thought he was just doing it for the aspect of it all. But... It seems that he feels the same way about her that I do.

Like, when you see her face, and her lovely chocolate-brown eyes look up at you expectantly. They plead for you to look deeply into them, to see more than the lioness on the outside. And the way that her tail's end just cuts off at white, showing her angelic personality...

If my life was perfect and I was matched with Alyssa... And some other nerdy guy went and kissed her, I'd be pretty mad too. But now I'm sitting by the watering hole that's closest to the pride. I can't journey further...

My mind keeps wandering to the protest. Alyssa was crying in a corner, mouthing my name between the heaving sobs. The kind that you almost choke on, the kind where it's almost impossible to stop... The kind that suffocate me as I write.

"Achilles... Achilles... Achilles..."

And my mother was crying too, but she wasn't trying to stop them. Neither was my dad.

No one was trying to stop it. It's like they all wanted me to leave.

"Achilles... Achilles... Achilles..."
