Jace Parker; 16; at school; with Finny
Jace chuckled at Finny's comment and brought one of the hot French fries to his lips. He blew on it to cool it down, which he didn't really need to do, and then ate it happily. "Yum~" he hummed and took another fry, repeating the whole process. When the waitress neared the table she smiled as she made eye contact with Jace. "Here is your Coff-" her words were cut short when she suddenly slipped on a trail of rain water that had been dragged into the cafe by the costumer's shoes. She fell forward and Jace's hot coffee splattered all over him and his book bag. Jace let out a wince of surprise when the steamy liquid hit him and he stood up, shaking the coffee from his hands. Some of the customers stared At Jace in disbelief as well as the utterly embarrassed waitress. "A-are you-ok?" She stuttered, completely amazed that he wasn't screaming in pain from the freshly brewed coffee that stained his skin and clothes. He actually looked unscathed and unaware of the scorching heat. Jace grumbled a bit as he wiped down his clothes and innocently looked around once he noticed the eyes on him. "Yeah I'm fine. It will probably stain though." He answered calmly as if what just happened wasn't that big of a deal.

Jae turned back to the bench to grab his bag. He pulled the straps over his shoulder and then turned back to Kaiya. His face still looked void of any emotions. "C'mon, let's get you out of the rain." He sighed and began walking towards the school building.

She smiled and resumed sipping her coffee. When the coffee spilled onto Jace, she made a sort of surprised shrieking noise and instinctively pulled both herself and her gloves away from Jace. As a seeming reaction of her startled behavior, her physicks kicked in accidentally. They didn't do much, but her cup rocked back and forth untouched. Finny's hand shot out almost immedietly to stop the rocking.

Clara Grainger
Clara watched in horror as a boy from her school slipped on the coffee she'd spilled, pouring his own drink on himself. She glanced at him - he didn't seem to be affected at all by the liquid. His coffee should have burned him, mused Clara, interested more than shocked. Out of the corner of her eye, Clara observed another girl looking horrified as she steadied her own tilting cup, recoiling. Clara steeled herself for an unpredictable human interaction, and walked over to the boy. "How did you do that - without burning yourself?" she asked quietly.

scatty walked into the cafe feeling relaxed for once and she stopped at the door seeing a guy covered in coffee and sighing seeing all eyes on the three poeple and thinking she should offer help she started to mess with bike lock keys and making her mind up she walked up to them and "um.....are you ok? "

"Did you get wet?" Jace asked, glancing up Finny as he blotted at the coffee that was dripping from his cheek. "Are you sure you're not hurt?" the waitress asked again, examining Jace's body in awe. "I just spilled boiling hot coffee on you! H-how.....?" she stuttered, taking a step forward to get a closer look at him. Jace paused for a second, finally realizing how bad this looked. If he was a normal human his skin would have been burning right now. "I'm fine!" he adamantly insisted and began cleaning the coffee off of his bag. At the same time, he snatched a quick french fry and popped it into his mouth. When Clara approached him he looked up and scratched the back of his head nervously. "I guess the coffee cooled down by the time it reached me?" he suggested, in a pathetic attempt to throw off her suspicions.

She shook her head. "Nah, just startled." She removed her hand from her cup. Even the small act of accidentally making a cup rock back and forth was draining without her gloves. A few drops of sweat were already sliding down her neck as a sort of aftershock of using physicks. Finny let out a soft sigh and removed her gloves from their temporary safe haven under the table, placing them on the tabletop. "Jace. That coffee could not have possibly cooled down in that amount of time. It's not possible."

She glanced at the girl - Finny, I think. "She's right," said Clara, turning back to the boy whose name slipped her mind at the moment. Clara narrowed her eyes. "So how did you do that?" Her heart was pounding. Clara'd always hoped to meet someone else different like her. The weather outside seemed to react to her intense curiosity - and longing, I suppose, to not be the only one, - and rain began to pour harder, much to the annoyance of passersby.
